All I Hope is that Marit Lage don't receive the Eldrazi or Bolas retcon and end defeated by Power of love and friendship.
She deserves better. Eldritch Horrors should not be fought unless is Something as old and horrifying as itself.

Well, love and friendship took care of Ulamog and Kozilek, I see no reason why it wouldn't work on Marit Lage. Ravnica even has leylines just like Zendikar, and a being deeply connected to the plane in Niv Mizzet. It would not shock me if 10 Guildmasters+Niv channeling mana into Jaya let her re-enact her banishing spell. Similar to how Nissa's channeling let Chandra (Jaya's pupil!) burn away the Titans.

This series is actually quite interesting in how it diverges from the lore, and it's nice seeing a story being told that isn't dependant on a set and the cards within, since that often leads to inconsistencies and weird pacing. As much as I liked some of the recent worldbuilding, it's cool to see a story just be a story.

@@leafkindruid Tbh, i like the "Its not canon... unless..." kind of approach, it gives writters the capability of writting something that can be both detached from canon but if is well received some of its elements can be later re-used or brought into canon at some point down the line, i see this being made into a set after we explore the incoming war against the Phyrexians a few (at least more than 4) years in the future, maybe with different characters if Wizards has the balls to put one of these precious boys in danger during the current events but since everyone included here exudes a great smell of plot armor (except Jaya) it gives me a certain confidence.

I love the depth of these videos. Its easy as a relatively new player to miss the story completely, just paying attention to cards and abilities.. I think taking time and enjoying the thought and effort that went into the background story of mtg cards make this game truly special. I wish I had gotten into this game in the 90s when I was obsessed with pokemon, I never heard of magic until early 2000s and didn't start playing until 2015 and again this year after a couple years off.
