Thank God he managed to find that aged paper texture, otherwise he'd never come back
Does he stream frequently on Ptreon?!
finally I understand why anime lips have a blank part in the middle
SYCRA WHERE HAVEYOU BEEN, I NEEDED YOU MAN
17:04 My face when sycra posts a video
I really like the idea of you redoing tutorials you’ve already made. I think it’s a great way of you showing us how far you’ve learned and improved.
Srsly dude, even after 2+ years of searching and watching all kind of tutorials from yours can be learnt so much more because you are actually focusing on mistakes and it is from mistakes that we learn the most. Or at least I learn the most from mistakes than from strictly by the book tutorial with steps.
We learn our mistakes simply by seeing the solutions. Sycra provides us with clear solutions because he has experimented for years and refuses to take Jim Lee paths when it comes to art. Unlike the vast majority of comic artist (or artist in general), Sycra will not just look at references and avoid drawing feet to block off his mistakes. He will explore until he has found his solutions and showcase them to the public once they are proven to work.
I love how Sycra's tutorials can often give some revelations in places I would not expect. A great video, I was missing those.
I really enjoy hearing you become more and more confident in your speaking tone over the years. You sound more friendly than ever
they say it takes 10,000 hours to master something, here goes hour one
*spends the next 5 hours watching how aluminum cans are made on UA-cam*
Watching a vid doesn't count towards the 10000 hours lol
Those 10000 hours are the best part, once you master something stuff get boring, so yeah, wish it's more than that and have fun learning :)
There is more to art than just putting a arbitrary amount of hours into it. If you are learning from bad resources or just drawing for the sake of drawing you won't really improve very fast.
I have had that proven to me by observing artists in discord and on twitch. Some people just find a way they like drawing and their art has gone nowhere in over 2-3 years of wasted time, sometimes a full decade of wasted time, it's quite tragic. Their ego holds them back and they can't be helped.
@@dungofrungus7659 i've noticed that as well
I have been fighting with mouths since forever and this helped me in ways you cant even imagine. From the bottom of my heart, thank you
I love the longer in depth art tutorial. In my opinion if an art tutorial is long and someone complains that it's too long, then they shouldn't be an artist. Because you gotta put in MUCH more time than however long a "long" tutorial is in order to get better at art.
HEs BACKKKKKKKKKKK thank you for this yasin
Everybody gangsta till yasin uploads
I mean this in a good way lol
I've been meaning to buy you to put on my bagels
TEACHER SYCRA IS FINALLY BACK!!!!!!!!!!! I've missed these videos
Pro tip: If you have a retainer like an invisiline that is a fantastic and quite perfect model of teeth to use for reference. You can turn it for the direction of the head and use it for any pose imaginable for reference.
Sycra tutorial??
My crops are flourishing, my skin is cleared, flowers are blooming.
Missed you :')
Ahh fuck I really watched an hour long video lmao, time flies when you’re actually doing something interesting and not just blowing hot air.
No joke, one of the best tutorials on mouth I've ever seen. The side example and all the shadow and light location explanation were really informative.
Man I'm glad I remember this channel. I'm watching his vids back then and suddenly hes gone
Sycra be avatar aanging the entire art community
This man should definitely be teaching. He has a gift for it. Don't normally post on UA-cam but hoping this will inspire him to come back to content creation.
Isn't that what he's already doing?
After all this time, finally another tutorial! The best art teacher on UA-cam no cap.
our master Sycra should have a million subs
I have waited for this....

I don't know how I found this but I'm loving your old stuff (yet to see the vids from this year and not 7 years ago lol)
Hello! Just wanted to tell you that your videos are great and they help me a lot!! Thanks!
29:02 Fun fact, in Norwegian that's exactly what the canine is called. _Corner tooth._
Oh man, that skull you drew was awesome!
Fucking thank you, man. Reading Loomis is fine and dandy, but seeing the progress is invaluable, and checking on specific stuff without browsing through a book is really helpful.
Yes, thank you so much @Sycra

Hey its my favorite guy, i appreciate the macro view of the mouth
best teacher everrr
yay sycra is the BEST!
GLAD U BACK
The division I use for the mouth is that the edge of the bottom lip is half way from the nose to the chin. As if the lips are resting on the halfway line.
The halfway line also marks the bottom edge of the upper front teeth
I thought you had disappeared from earth. Welcome back man, we needed you!
Hey .... Could u please make a video on drawing the elbow and the knee ??? Please....!
Best teacher is back .
i needed this
seriously this is amazing thank you
MY BOY SYCRAAA
Syyycraa missed u man
Keep at it my dude
amaizing
How to draw a mouth. First draw the head because thats how we do it. Next, draw the skull in full detail... Now erase the skull. Last but not least just draw the two ends of the lips. Also there's cast shadow and highlights and stuff.

It is a philtrum 👍
damnnnnn this channel is lit
Wait, didn't you say you were stopping doing videos? Not complaining though, I love your videos.
I am looking for improving at sketching and I need some tips, sorry for bothering you, great video btw.
i understand most of what you taught, however, i feel like most of what you said is provided "just as", i dont "see" most of what you are drawing. for example, i feel like a skeletal and muscular components of the mouth side by side would prove to be a huge help, because once you know how to draw those not-so-essential elements of the mouth, you can easily "see" and "understand" why the mouth is the way it is. For instance, you showed us the frontal and side view of the lips, nose and chin, and how each protrudes and sinks depending on the facial structure, but what if i want to draw that same face 3, 10, 15 degrees to the left/right/up/down? the process of following the contour (from the nose bridge -> sink in to philtrum -> protrude for the upper lip -> sink into lower lip etc. etc.) would be wildly different. The point im trying to get at is, a more "polygon-ic" simplified approach would of deemed much more effecient in learning how to draw, especially the lips, in my opinion
I MISSED YOU
Hand 2020 PLEASE
yesssssss
ah yes. a 2020 edition, because our mouth forms chance every year due to evolution
