After My Pilot dies or I want to buy a new car. I really want a Ram single cab. The interior is so convenient and it's so simple even for a modern truck
I actually just bought my 2014 RAM 1500 Tradesman 5.7L 4x4 quad cab. I love this thing. I actually have the 6 speed auto which I prefer due to having the column shifter. This truck is super comfortable and I love driving it man. Only thing I wish mine had was the anti slip diff, but that's all changing.
+John Jones I'm glad to hear you're enjoying it man! And I know that they make the tradesman model in a 4x4 but at the time I didn't. Hope this video helped!
Does it also have the hidden storage capacity? I know some have storage areas under the seat and even in the back seat floorboard... does the 5.7 V8 have that as well? And last question, what's the MPG range for your truck? I'm days away from getting the truck and want to make sure it's worth the price - thanks
I just bought 2 new ones and my crew cab has a volume buttons and channel buttons on the back of the steering wheel and my quad cab doesn’t. All depends on what come in the truck
1110 Moto yea give a few more yrs and it should be standard but hey like your video keep us posted on how your ram holds up lot of people talk trash and say they don't I've never had any issues I've owned 3 of them so far they been good to me and hella fun to drive 😄 but again good vid bro
I know its rated for only 8. But I didn't have to pull it far (about 20 miles or so) and I just took it easy. Light acceleration, proper weight distribution, and a good brake controller
Martin Medrano Hey Martin, sorry I'm getting back to you so late, but when it comes down to MPG, if you watch your instant MPG meter on the dash you can get well over 26mpg. I personally made a trip from Dale, Tx, to Waco, Tx, and averaged 31.5 MPG while maintaining an average speed of around 61mph. It all depends on how you drive and what you are using the vehicle for. I make runs from Waco to Dallas all the time pulling a trailer loaded down with units for centexpowersportsofwaco.com and average 16mpg. Hope this helped you!
@@Moto-dp8ob cmon 31.5 mpg? I have a medium to light foot, & to your defense, I'm doing local only, but, 31.5 ? seriously doubt that with a 5.7 Please review that spec. again. Thx, get back to me Thanks
I will quickly admit that I was mpg sniping on the dash for almost 100miles in order to achieve that number. A lot if coasting and draft zones were required. I was just saying it was possible if you try hard enough
@@Moto-dp8ob That's interesting you say that. What i mean is, even if i try coasting, I notice this 8 speed tranny downshifts almost instantly when i take foot off pedal, therefore slowly me down to much to actually "enjoy the coast". Another thing with this 8 speed i hate is the fact if I'm going down a hill, it automatically downshifts, raising RPM's. We both know that only saves brake pads, but kills your MPG. I'm lucky of i ever see 15 mpg. My truck is a 2017 5.7 Tradesman, regular cab, 8 ft bed....only has 6,500 miles....maybe it's still breaking in, but i hate this MPG's i get, even though it's a 4,600 truck
I had the exact same problem for the longest time!! What I ended up finding out is that if once you get up to curing speed, manually shift it into 8th gear and I will greatly cut down on its tendency to downshift at the slightest lift of the throttle. It's not perfect but it's a lot better, also finding the sweet spot in the revs between loaded throttle and unloaded throttle is key. Basically keep it at a smooth humm when going down hill or slowing down. Also I had mine straight piped almost immediately after getting it so that's a possible factor as well.
I love the unapologetic simplicity of a Tradesman.
Brandon Fenus it definitely keeps me humble lol

best review so far. learned more here than in the last 6 videos.
I got my 2016 tradesmen with a v6, my last ram was a v8. But I honestly miss the power but I never pull that much so I'm happy with it.

I just purchased a '16 Express and have never been happier with a vehicle!
Roadsidepictures I'm glad to hear it!
Tradesman does come in 4X4. I just bought one with 4X4
Fattie I found that out about 2 months after I bought the truck lol sorry for the misinformation
Me too
Seems to be a really nice truck.

good honest review. i'm hoping to trade in my little hyundai for a single cab 4x4. :D
Does it have the remote start up key sensor ?or do I have to install a remote star kit?

My truck does the same thing with the alignment. Its ever so slightly but noticeable. 2016 ram 1500 express reg cab.
Cool review bro
My 2017 Tradesmen has 4WD, Plus rear view camera, built into rear view mirror....Not sure if the 16's had that...too bad you didn't wait
Mine is a 4x4 but I don't have Bluetooth or cd player. Does yours have Bluetooth and or a CD player? Are there two different types of tradesman's?
That’s a super fast truck
Nice to see a review from Waco!!!!!
Are you from waco?
1110 Moto yep! Sure am. I was watching your video and heard you say Waco 🤣
I have a 2017 Tradesman Express. 4X4, Uconnect 5.0 stereo w/backup camera. RAM says the 5.7 Hemi makes 395 HP.
I have Exact same truck....you are correct, 395 HP
Is your back up camera built into the glass of the rear- view mirror too ?
nice review
JosephLopez thanks man!
Not a great vid but not bad either. I do have one in 4x4 btw.
Radio controls on back of steering wheel
you should of gotten a big horn has the 8.4 touch screen and radio control behind steering wheel and fancy color LCD cluster display and a lot more
+paul espinosa I will definitely have to remember that when I trade up! I still feel that the radio controls should be a basic feature

Yes, and for a small boat load more cash too.
It's about power, not kid stuff
Volume buttons are behind the steering wheel
THE LIFE OF 305 on my model there weren't any
Mine both have bigger screen aswell
Any updates of reliability or any problems you have had ?
I no longer have the truck however in 50,000 miles I encountered no problems
@@Moto-dp8ob what did you trade it for ?
As much as I dont like admitting it, it was repossessed after my wife and I ran into financial hardship
@@Moto-dp8ob don't be ashamed . Lots of people have that happen for multiple reasons. Some out out of their control .
@@Moto-dp8ob hope things got better for you brother!

Everyone gets looked at when straightpiped. It’s annoying!! Spend $1000 on a quality mature exhaust at least
