I love these color options! I love the natural look of cob and the lime plaster but I have wondered about different colors you can use indoors. I had heard of tadelakt and knew it was more labor intensive so I'm really glad to know about milk paints. Great content as always.

It's a Moroccan word, the technique is used widely in North African interiors. You'll often find this used in some areas of Greece too, in baths, the Italians have their Marmorino, which is pulverized marble mixed into a plaster with similar look and properties. It's very nice for all sorts of free formed walls and shelves. The last step is to polish the whole area with natural olive oil soap and a smooth agate stone by hand, for that high gloss and waterproofing, but this last treatment needs going over every few years in high trafficked areas like showers and sink surrounds.
If you google bathrooms with Tadelakt you'll see some cool stuff. Or Santorini Bathrooms. They often do this in the exclusive Greek cave houses to keep that cave aesthetic. Moroccans pair this with their fantastic mosaics and Zellige tiles hand made in the sand from low fire terracotta from the local earth, its truly stunning irl.

Can you please test Cobb house for stopping WiFi signals? Thank you. You are in a unique position to do this.

Do you know what type of device is required to do this? I'm not familiar.

@@thiscobhouse an internet wifi router that is connected to the internet and is on, and a mobile device to use for trying to connect to the wifi service when you’re on the other side of one or more of the houses walls and also from different parts of the house. I know that in the house I live there’s a few places where the wifi just doesn’t work and it’s just a regular 2x4 and drywall type of house, examples are if there’s a lot of metal, or concrete or maybe a lot of paper in between my device and the router the signal gets bad and the internet connection doesn’t work properly. Can you maybe also see if you can get cell phone service inside the cob houses because I find that a large mass of earth in the way of the signal can also sometimes disrupt cellular connectivity and that is something to be mindful of in case that happens to your house and if you need to find a work around like a cell signal repeating device so that you can always reach emergency services on the phone if you’re hurt.

Out of curiosity, is it possible to build a cob room onto a wood cabin?

@@thiscobhouse Thank you! I've been going back and forth between cob and a small cabin but knowing this is a big help.

Is it so hard for you to report weather or not Cobb houses block WiFi signals? You seem to want to spread the word and this is an important factor. I keep asking you. You don’t have many viewers, don’t you see my repeated question?

I just replied to your last comment. If I can find the right devices required to do this, I think it would be a great experiment. If anyone has some information on this, please let me know.
