Thanks Alex for updating us on all your projects and courses. Wish I wasn't across the ocean or I'd be there. My little cob house I built with nothing but your written instructions is still holding up well in the extreme weather conditions of the Portuguese mountains and I'm pleased you mentioned that cob is great at regulating the temp even tho it not an insulator as I've found that to be the case.
I'm delighted with my Casita. Built a round goatshed for my nannies and am busy with a semi circular bathroom /greenhouse during spell of calm weather.

Thanks so much for all your videos!! Quick question; would it be a valuable path the build cobs walls around XPS foam sheets (example 12 inches of cob, then 4 inches of XPS foam, then another 12 inches of cob)? We are thinking this would be the best of both worlds; temperature regulation for the exterior and interior portions, with a slowing effect on the temperature transfer.

^ I agree so much! And they can be built up ridiculously quick, too. The only reason I want to build a cob house is because it is considerably safer than conventional buildings in all kinds of ways. 👍

Hempcrete?
I do really like hempcrete. I'd put it on par or even better than straw-clay. But it is more expensive than straw-clay and hemp shiv is not easily accessible compared to straw.
