Still love him from the Fox X-Men series from the 90s. I thought the way they had to take him out was done so well; wipe out his body in the past, then destroy his essence within the Axis of Time using every known powerful psychic in existence (well the ones he captured anyway). Since his physical body was no longer alive, by pulling him out of the Axis, he simply ceased to exist. For my young mind at the time, this was amazing to me.
Thanos is on a cosmic scale cuz of his technology and mission for the infinity stones. But on Earth Appocalypse is a big baddie, with mutant abilities and very long living and durable abilities. And on top of that he has celestial technology. He has technology already beyond anyone's on Earth. He can also alter his size to a actual celestial

I will never understand how guys like Apocalypse and Savage always take so long to conquer the world. It is not they weren't even trying in the last millenia.
Thanos without the infinity gauntlet probably would be defeated yeah but I'd say its pretty close, it depends on the situation and story. The problem with Apocalypse is he will just keep coming back.
I think without anything to aid him like weapons or tech, going by the individuals abilities, apocalypse would fuck him up. Thanos in so many cases only is powerful because of things like the gauntlet in the comics. There are plenty of beings that he whoops all due to the fact that he has some super powerful device basically capable of doing anything but take those things away and Thanos gets owned most of the time he's just a cool character and stuff so people love him which gives him plot armour and people make him out to be overpowered.
One of my favorite memories is a time when apocalypse and the high evolutionary when at it but didn’t really get anywhere - can you do a deep dive on the high evolutionary? Who do you think would win that fight had they continued?
I'm interested to hear your further explanation of why Thanos would just unequivocally beat Apocalypse, but then you say he would "take Thor just to show his power. That he could take a god." Please make THAT video!
I personally think he would know better than to attempt to take the Incredible Hulk first off just the difficulty of subduing him and added to that the difficulty of taking over his mind would be off-putting 2 apocalypse especially if he absolutely needed a new body Thor on the other hand an immortal Asgardian Gods body surely he wouldn't be able to burn that out now that would be five kinds of nuts a mutant with Celestial Tech fused with an Asgardian
Apoc is far more interesting imo. Thanos's character has been taken in so many directions it's stupid. Apoc at least has a basic cohesive theme. Thanos has become himself nothing but a plot device. He's not a character anymore.
He really never was.lol Doctor Doom, Apocalypse, Magneto were always better in my opinion, as they had true beliefs and methods to their madness. Thanos was just a simp for Death.lol Besides that, he always just came across as THE hurdle for the heroes to overcome, and is really only interesting because of his ability to trash everybody.
@@UnifiedEntity I thinkthe 90's animated series is largely responsible for elevating Apocalypse to being as cool as most see him. In the comics...he's the ultimate jobber.lol We don't even need to touch the movies.
@@UnifiedEntity I can see that.lol I count the original MvC titles as an extension of the 90s animated series, so naturally Apocalypse retains that badass persona.
The two recent X-men movies could have been combined, with Apocalypse being the one to corrupt Jean Grey instead of whats-her-face. Let her be one of the Horsemen in place of Psylocke. The second act would be the emergence of Dark Phoenix under the thrall of Apocalypse (kind of like her and Magneto in Last Stand). And the climax would be Jean Grey realizing Apocalypse's ultimate plan (to possess her body, take the Phoenix Force, and destroy humanity). With the help of Xavier/Cyclops, she turns into the good Phoenix and battles Apocalypse toe-to-toe while the X-men are still struggling against Magneto and Storm. Apocalypse is too much for Phoenix to handle, so finally Magneto is convinced to switch sides. And it's still not enough, so Jean Grey releases all of the Phoenix Force power, disintegrating Apocalypse in the process but also disappearing to be reborn later, as Phoenixes do.
An Apocalypse movie would make for a nice intermission before they launch into their next huge event (whatever that's gonna be). Just him showing up, being like "ya, you beat Thanos and all, but let's see if you can still do it if it's your friends you're fighting". Picks his horsemen, everyone has an emotional crisis about something, big battle to save their friends, etc etc. And in the end they confront Apocalypse and he goes "good, you proved yourselves worthy. you might actually survive what comes next" and just leaves.

Yo Rob, might I recommend the Goblin Entity / The Goblin Force as a "Too Powerful for the MCU" Cheers! Love your vids and always look forward to the next!
I feel like Cap as a Horseman would be War, not Death. But that's what sucks about the Horsemen, no one wants to be Famine or Pestilence. You smell bad, you're not edgy enough to look cool. Heck even the movie just chose 4 and skipped the whole labels. I think the movie is hated on a bit too much. I think it did an alright job with the jist of Apocalpyse's powers, his need to transfer bodies, etc... but we really needed someone intimidating to be Apocalypse, not Ivan Ooze. And we needed better dialogue and motivation from the character than whining about war and weapons.
Against Thanos as he was originally written - I would say Apocalypse is totally capable of going toe-to-toe with Thanos and defeating him. However, in the Earth-616 continuity, since Secret Wars II, Thanos was endowed with even more power by Mistress Death, so much so that he was able to send someone like Galactus flying. Thanos couldn't beat him, but the altercation was enough that Glactus needed to feed after subduing Thanos. I don't see Apocalypse being able to do anything to Galactus - at all.
Apocalypse needs to be done right in the MCU, he deserves better
As does Doom, and a great many others.

No, Orochimaru was invented decades later and is pretty much less cool Apocalypse.
@@chendaddy ....very similar concept at the end of the day...
M H but not a pedo
Yeah, pretty much. Minus the pedo vibe
@@Peecamarke yeah he straight on the K Relly shit lol...shout out to ITSREAL85
Apocalypse with its maximum power defeats Thanos without difficulty. Thanos is very overestimated
Thanos would obliterate the Fox Apocalypse! As for the Comic book version however... I can’t say the same.
Thanos without the infinity gauntlet probably would be defeated yeah but I'd say its pretty close, it depends on the situation and story. The problem with Apocalypse is he will just keep coming back.
@@IROQUOISxPLISKEN thanos is cosmic without the gauntlet
WHYYOUSMILINGWHENYOURNEXT? huh? Thanos is a bitch without the gauntlet
@@Faxy95 exactly thanos' greatest power is plot armour
One of my favorite memories is a time when apocalypse and the high evolutionary when at it but didn’t really get anywhere - can you do a deep dive on the high evolutionary? Who do you think would win that fight had they continued?
It’s confirmed that Apocalypse is more powerful than Thanos 😂
This video is a Movie Plot waiting to happen.. awesome knowledge breakdown... 👊🏽
I think if Thor went straight berserker mode, then he could probably take him.
He actually can and has done so at least with jarnborne
He kicked his ass without berserker rage
Without an enchanted axe he got wrecked and ran away. His attacks didn’t even budge apocalypse. It was like when hulk first fought Superman
I'm interested to hear your further explanation of why Thanos would just unequivocally beat Apocalypse, but then you say he would "take Thor just to show his power. That he could take a god." Please make THAT video!
Thanos would ONLY beat Apocalypse IF Thanos had the gauntlet. I believe even you admitted that.
Jason Blauet Thats just not true
When you realize everyone in the mcu that apocalypse can make a horseman that were mentioned only hawkeyes left
I think you're underestimating him.
Severly
Always he ain't the first unfortunately
Apocalypse actually COULD give a gauntletless Tanos a hard time imo
"He could take the hulk's body. That's the only real caveat" 😂
Both are not interesting to me, but I'll pick Apocalypse any day over Thanos. Both comics and movie versions suck.
@@UnifiedEntity I thinkthe 90's animated series is largely responsible for elevating Apocalypse to being as cool as most see him. In the comics...he's the ultimate jobber.lol We don't even need to touch the movies.
@@ReeceHoward06 That and the Marvel Vs Capcom game..I used to think Apocalypse was the shit like he was the Darkseid of Marvel 😂😂
@@UnifiedEntity I can see that.lol I count the original MvC titles as an extension of the 90s animated series, so naturally Apocalypse retains that badass persona.
Thanos vs Apocalypse comes down to one thing.... Does Thanos have the infinity gauntlet.... If yes then Thanos wins....If not Apocalypse wins....
Just checked for one of these, yay

I now want to see Josh Brolin Cable fight Oscar Isaac Apocalypse.
Apocalypse, is Armageddon.
Is Doomsday is Ragnarok is Apokolyps
@@shadesoul4247 Beat me to it. :)
@@JesusChristDenton_7 Funnily enough, those are all villain or villain-associated names.
If the MCU really put the effort like they did for Thanos, they could absolutely make Apocalypse just as much of a threat.
Comic version is busted when he's not jobbing, but he always does.
The movie may have sucked, but it was accurate at representing his jobbing status.
Lol but the movie didn’t suck.
I look forward to these reviews. Thanks Rob
Only problem is there's already a X men movie about him. It even gives an origin story

Thanos w/o the infinity gauntlet could not defeat Apocalypse .
love the background music...starting at 8:06
Apocalypse needs to be portrayed properly in the mcu.
Apocalypse beat Thor within a inch of his life and he did it easy. Thor had to catch him off guard with a weapon blessed to kill celestials in order to win. Even with the Hammer he would have lost.
I'm SO happy you changed your intro the old one was so creepy cringe crunch!
AWESOME VID MAN ALWAYS AMAZONG. BOW TO THE ROB CORP LEADER
Apocalypse we beat Thanos
Yo Rob, might I recommend the Goblin Entity / The Goblin Force as a "Too Powerful for the MCU"
Cheers!
Would love to see the shield as power rather than weapon. Even having tbe shield as a living extension he can control mentally over a distance.
Lol Ivan Ooze
Against Thanos as he was originally written - I would say Apocalypse is totally capable of going toe-to-toe with Thanos and defeating him. However, in the Earth-616 continuity, since Secret Wars II, Thanos was endowed with even more power by Mistress Death, so much so that he was able to send someone like Galactus flying. Thanos couldn't beat him, but the altercation was enough that Glactus needed to feed after subduing Thanos. I don't see Apocalypse being able to do anything to Galactus - at all.
Too Powerful for the MCU - Cyttorak or Unstoppable Colossus
I know you dont do vs videos but I would like to see a more in depth discussion of Apocalypse vs Thanos without stones.
Age of apocalypse was a great read so sad the movie didnt do it justice.
It wasn’t based off the age of apocalypse story line directly.
I would love to see a story where he takes over Hulk's body

QUESTION FOR ROB!: Has thanos and Apocalypse ever teamed up? I think it would be a very interesting team up.
