I worked the beach a good part of my 20 yrs in Law Enforcement. We all knew this would happen someday, Ft Myers Beach will recover, it will take years to do so, but the special charm that I heard people say the beach had as we knew it, is no longer there.
Thank you Florida Streets I went swimming in Charlotte Harbor on the Wednesday morning of the 28th....it was just another day for us and there was no worries of Ian hitting us...the meteorologists kept saying its going west..its going west.. But the Harbor was warm as Bathwater... And the alerts on my phone said otherwise.. It was just so nice to soak it all in before it was drastically changed
I love your video a lot, I have been watching a few times, made all my good memories with this place coming back, I appreciated that. And I was wondering what kind the camera you used, the pictures are so beautiful.
Appreciate the video but there’s way too many people on the island for only being one day before the hurricane. Probably a couple days before at least. And nothing boarded up or hurricane shutters closed
They didn't know it was coming ashore there. It was expected to come ashore both of Tampa. They only had 1 day notice to evacuate. But most woke up that morning and discovered it changed course so stop making comments using your logic when you don't know the entire information first🙄
@@RoadwayUSA thank you for the video, but please tell the truth on when this video was shot. Both 1 day and 2 days before hurricane Ian the skies were grey and gloomy, wood was getting boarded up, and we were preparing for hurricane Ian. I am just curious on when this video was shot.
i look at all those people driving around who did not evacuate i know the beauty of it all is alluring but cmon yall evacuate next time if its a false alarm then thank GOD
Hmmm...absolutely certain I watched this very same vid which was a year ago, so a tad disappointed it's now saying ''a day before Hurricane Ian'' .... trying to capitalise on the devastation through clickbait 😖We all have to make a living but come on (with loss of lives and livelihoods)...viewers aren't that daft!!!😔. Thumbs up on previous occasion but defo thumbs down here!
You are wrong my friend. A year ago, this tiki bar was not built, Check the link below. Thanks for watching the video! ua-cam.com/video/YBBPppjVVFs/v-deo.html
Ya the Tears for Fears as you pulled up to Times Square broke my heart. Thank you
Everything is so pretty and calm.
Thank you for sharing Florida Streets.
🙏🙏🙏👍👍👍
One day before the hurricane, the highway was jammed with cars trying to leave. Windows were boarded up.
Even if this is not the day before- it's still nice to have. I got some pictures of Matlache in July of this year.

GoPro Hero 10. Thank you!
Misleading title. Definitely not the day before.

Exactly two days
The point is that it looked like this before the hurricane.
Thanks for this presentation of the way Fort Myers Beach was.

This can’t be one day before, maybe one week? Just seems too calm and the skies were gray and gloomy days before the hurricane arrived
Exactly two days before Hurricane Ian
@@RoadwayUSA still don’t believe
