You can start small and notice big changes quickly!
@@bertobrb Legit the hardest part is motivation. Sitting down and eating is fun, self-restraint/calorie counting and exercise are not fun at all. But it depends on which you want more: A body you personally approve of for whatever reason, or, immediate gratification. (I lost 85lbs in less than a year, so yeah, I'm not talking through the hole in my head.) I think the people who complain about it being so difficult are the people who just genuinely aren't deeply motivated to keep up all the effort it takes to get to the end goal (And yes you can want something a lot without feeling motivated to pursue or stick with it, I'm not talking about not wanting something badly enough). We're definitely conditioned as a society to prefer immediate results to "losing 4-5lbs/week for X months", especially if it means cutting back on things we like and piling on more things we don't like. I will never forget the time I came into my doctors office 2-3 months in and having lost around 30lbs, and the nurse excitedly asked me how I did it. I told her the truth: Calorie counting, less food, more exercise, no drinking. SHE ACTED SO DISAPPOINTED. A *nurse* was thinking that there was some "don't change anything" type miracle solution to losing weight!! For me, the biggest deficit was booze. As someone who liked to drink as a hobby, having to put it aside for months at a time was difficult to deal with, but because of its metabolism-killing effects, it was necessary to reach my goal. And this is still while my friends were all drinking as much as they usually do, too. But let's not pretend like having an ounce of self-discipline is some heroic effort.
Matty, I can't afford côte de boeuf, but I butter basted two t-bones and made twice bakers today for my birthday. I did it with the thyme and that good butter. Wilted a little fresh spinach in beef tallow with some garlic and lemon juice. Brother, it was amazing. Thanks for all you do Matty and team!
I have been watching ever since you went fishing with Brad from bon appetite and loved every second. Imagine how surprised I was when I learned that you are not just a side character but the executive director of the Bear. The second season was so amazing and I am extremely happy for you on your accomplishments. Can’t wait until the third season reaches my country.
I dunno...I hear people complaining about S3, but we loved it! Ensemble cast, character development that arcs over seasons, and more. Probably going to re-binge S1 to S3 again.
I'm a Kerrygold cook, but Matty you have me considering Danish Creamery. The crispy mic intro was the big, warm, loud, aggressive, and hilarious wakeup I needed this morning. Thank you!
@@johnpenner2632 I agree, but the higher butterfat percentage does have me thinking on it. The only other butter that has come close so far for me was the cultured butter from Vermont Creamery, it was really good but not quite Kerrygold.
1. The healthy salmon bowl really was the quiet before the storm.. 2. im quite disapointed to not see the matheson pan for the basting.. 3.I just love how matty just reads these sponsor texts without any faked feelings :D
I love your energy. You make everything look fun. You look great! Keep posting the videos, I love them. I have gotten into reverse searing rib steaks now that I have a Meater Thermometer and I am going to do the butter basting for the final sear next time!
butter basting even with cheap butter and a choice steak will elevate it to the next level. always recommend doing it, and obviously the higher quality ingredients the better it is lol.
Matty. I love you so much. This was a VERY different episode. In a lot of ways. You seem very... new. I like this version of Matty. You seem much more at peace. Love you man! God bless you and yours! Keep it up!
You can really tell Matty is feeling himself in this episode of Homestyle Dash of Something Cookery, love it. Keep the weight loss up dude! I'm right there with you.
So, I don't know if this will get me kicked out of the cooking club, but I microwave my baked potatoes until they start to soften, about 3 minutes, then I finish them in the oven with whatever else I have in there. They still taste great, and they don't take 8 hours. 😉 I love Matty.
"That's where mom keeps the cookies", will now be entered into my everyday phrases to describe all things good. Thank you for, again, influencing my family for generations to come. 😂😂😂
Butter basted is the only way to go. Add a touch of powdered rosemary at the end or extra fresh ground black pepper, the salted butter does the trick every time.
Just a little tip for people who love to cook, baked potatoes and you like them to be really soft and hot. You should cook them in your steamer or rice cooker. Whatever you wanna call it and you can cook them up in about 45 minutes with some corn, and then you do a meat and you’re off to the races
Woah!!! Matty Matheson I’ve been watching you for years took a break to survive medical malpractice and tuning in again!!!!! I must say sheeesh you lost some weight are you on a cut?! Beautiful chubs or not just curious~
Last time i asked the meat counter guy to slice me steaks that thick he told me "well that's not a steak, that's a roast" i wish i could send this video to him along with a picture of Matty flippin the bird

I don't watch his content as much as I should, and even I noticed homeboy is shedding the lbs man. I bet that's hard. PROUD.
It’s not as hard as people make it out to be. It is basically discipline(not motivation), momentum, and consistency.

I think the fork holes are for when you microwave a potato to help prevent it from exploding. The holes allow the steam to escape?

You should try mixing in tzatziki into the potatoes and then putting them back into the skins.
It adds a very nice tang and freshness to the potatoes.

Matty gettin in shape. Respect 💪💪🤘
I think poking holes isn't to speed it up. I think it's so they don't expand and explode from steaming too much inside.
That too, but it does speed up the cooking by 15%, allowing the hot air to penentrate past the skin for a more evenly cooked tater.
Recommend only if you microwave
