    How much I miss hearing/seeing him live. It almost hurts physically. There's just nothing better than a Marillion live show!

      I definitely agree. The energy they can spread out is something unique I haven't seen in any other band (and I think I've seen quite many...).

    The space made me fall in love with marillion. First song I've heard and I didn't listen to anything else for over a year after I've heard it. Still my favourite band to this day ! Hope you guys never stop!

    A humble man and dear friend over the years. One of the great lyricists of and beyond Prog. IMHO
    I recall gifting H with moisturizing mittens and lotion pre-gig in SF once. He actually used the products, I believe I was the catalyst behind any slippery piano maneuvers observed that evening.

      Maybe because some people, including myself, expected something more detailed and in-depht about his gear. Steve said almost nothing about his guitars, and just few words about his piano. Only microphone got proper attention. Since this series is devoted to musical equipment I would rather hear about equipment instead of presents from his fans, like socks. Though I didn't give a thumb down I can fully understand, why someone could feel disappointed.

      Like we wrote on your post Lucas ... the series is as much about the studio environment in which they work as it is the instruments. So sorry we didn't meet your expectations with this one. We've got Pete coming up next week and then Rothers ... stay tuned as they are a lot more detailed about their gear :)

      @andreafavilli5058 3 роки тому +1

      @@lucasjankowski7117 Well, if you played in a studio I think that the "environmental" issue is also important, although not decisive. I guess H gave interesting hints about his microphones and he's a singer after all. I'd love to hear something more about vocal effects and so on but he's right on this point: every singer must have to find his\her most suitable path (mic\effects\etc.). Everyone of us has a different vocal gear and what it may sound gorgeous for him, doesn't necessary sound the same for me and for others.

    • @andreafavilli5058
      @andreafavilli5058 3 роки тому +1

      @@marillionofficial These videos are extremely nice. Btw it would be nice as well if you could post also some hints and tips to build a nice studio setup with few bucks. It would be useful to many of us struggling to reach some quality standards in our home studios. I know there are many tutorials about it on UA-cam but getting the advices of experts and artists like you is priceless. ^^

    • @lucasjankowski7117
      @lucasjankowski7117 3 роки тому +1

      @@andreafavilli5058 Yes, but that also could be said about any other musician (keyboard player, guitarist etc.): that they have their favourite gear (instruments, effects, and so on), and that every musician should find his individual most suitable equipment and setup. Yet it doesn't prevent other artists from making detailed explanations of their gear. It's not about trying to imitate other musician 1:1 (at least not for majority of viewers). For most of viewers it's just about getting to know something more about the technical side of creating music by your favourite artists. And I did not say, that I didn't like this episode with Steve at all. I just made a point, that it was much less informative than episodes with Ian and Mark, which is true.
