One of the first things you learn in improvisation/comedy is that the basic joke is "serious treatment of a comic subject" and "comic treatment of a serious subject", that's why Gervais, and most comedians, do this.

I had never really thought about English people's opinions on guns, I live in Chicago and shootings are just a part of my day to day life. I've been in the middle of shootings while driving home, literally 5 yards from another car getting shot, and have been shot at while driving home at night. I hear shootings at night during summer almost regularly, and it's just something that I don't think about as a Chicagoan, I feel that guns will never be taken away in the U.S. and even if they try to people will, and already do, manufacture guns at home.
10-20 a year late to the party, but just more stringent checks are all that’s needed. Like you say, you can’t take them away since there’s so many of them, but you can put a bit of control on them. But as always, you’ll get the “shall not be infringed” crowd.
The True Geordie just thought I would let you know the guy who posted the song "True geordie my guy" - Tom Stockdale is having a bad time. He got his windshield smashed by a vandle whilst he was having lunch with his mum. Due to this crime he has hit some financial diffulculties and is struggling to fix his car and go to work. I have no ossociation to Tom in fact the only way I know of his UA-cam channel is due to you, I just thought you would be able to help. He has a go fund me page if you want to check it out, it would probably make his day. Thanks Trade Up a big fan.
