I get scammers on the daily as an elderly woman. All kinds of them. Even romance scammers. I’ve been around the block so I know better, but many elderly are so lonely and so impoverished they are prime targets.

I recently applied for a job as a graphic designer with a precious metals handler. After I had visited their site, i received so many UA-cam ads from them and there were several red flags. It was very grifty. I was glad when I didn't get the job.

Silver is mainly an industrial metal, with about 50-60% being used in industry. Gold, conversely, is a mainly an investment metal (only 8-10% of gold is used by industry; jewelry counts as an investment; even a simple inflation hedge is an investment).
Because silver has a much more abundant supply and a vastly higher industry usage, prices move much more slowly over a long time period (say, 1 year or even 5 years), but business cycles cause great volatility in the interim (e.g., prices may only finish the year up 5%, but intrayear ∆ could be 15-30%, etc). Worth mentioning: A prolonged recession can wipe out years of profit on silver holdings (remember the normally high industry usage becomes low during recessions).
And because gold is a store of value, inflation, recessions, booms, etc are all, generally, tailwinds for gold. Everything just causes gold to go up (very highly oversimplified).
Gold always goes up (and always heartily beats silver prices over any time period over a year; compounded growth is your friend). Silver is very fickle.
People have trusted gold since civilization's dawn. Silver, meh...the only worthwhile reason I can think of to hold it (besides for perfunctory/maybe-obligatory portfolio diversification) is that silver's high electrical conductivity means demand will grow with solar panel output.

Classic mistake - if silver goes from $10/Oz to $20/oz it doubled but "didn't change much." If gold goes from $1000/oz to $2000/oz it doubled. Numbers don't matter, only percentage change.
My grandfather got a bunch of silver bars in the 60s, they're all now worth about 20x as much which is about half as much if it was invested in an S&P index fund.
Only difference is that my grandfather had peace of mind owning silver after he lived through hyperinflation in 1920s Germany.
