    Very well done video. Very detailed and precise, especially the specific order of installation and take down, which is more detailed than the factory instructions. This is because I will be doing this by myself.

    I find it is a WHOLE lot easier to set up the tent on the ground then just put it in the truck and secure it.

    I have the camo version of this tent. The only complaint I have is that it seems Napier’s separate awning is not designated goes to work with this model. I sure could have used one in Acadia. Rained so much, I had condensation inside. An awning would have allowed me to roll down the front flap while keeping the bug netting up. Still essentially a decently waterproof tent though…

    Good job. I no longer even use the straps on the tail door. Works fine without them.

    Why did you go below the rear bumper with the 3 rear straps and not just around the tailgate?

      Will have to try that next time but didn’t think that would work.

      @@fandazkanady @olamiteisms6220 Don't. That middle strap's clip is a **BITCH** to fish through that gap of the bottom of the tailgate and the bumper. There is a very slight curve to the tailgate (at least there is on my 2019 colorado) that makes the gap about a half inch tighter than the ends and it makes all the difference (problem) in the world. You need something like a bent metal coathanger to fight getting the strap clip lined up to pass through. The best advice this video gives is to go around the bumper too. I was watching and wondering if it was possible right before he actually did it and was sold on it. Another suggestion I have is right after pocketing the green center pole, before lifting and pocketing the crossing black poles, is to lay the fly on and clip the two straps as shown on the sides. That way when you pocket the crossing black poles, the fly is already in place and gets lifted as well. You should be able to reach up and under the fly to clip on the pole clips as usual afterward. Perfect video though!

    What size is your truck bed?

    • @fandazkanady
      @fandazkanady  9 місяців тому

      5' I think. It is a crew cab.

    Question- I have a Chevy with the 5'8" bed, so similar to your vehicle, but I have a quad-fold tonneau cover. When folded all the way up towards the cab, it still covers about 5 inches of the bed. Do you think the Napier Backroadz Tent will work with my setup? Is the tonneau going to prevent proper installation?

      I have a tonneau cover too and I remove it every time before installing the tent.

      I have a rolling soft cover that i leave installed. So, from experience, I would say that your folding cover would take up too much room. If my rolled soft cover took up any more room than it does, I would remove it each time. Also, depending on your cover's rail mounts, they may be a risk to the tent material. I zip-tie pieces of pool noodle over my rail clamps to protect the tent.
