Nice video 🎉 love how the new radio looks 😊
Thanks!
I enjoy watching your video thank you 🌹
I just bought one, haven’t set it up yet thanks for your helpful video
Hello, great video! I have a Mexican Linmex (236 clon) but It can't build any pressure. Any idea where the problem might be. I already replaced all those gaskets and check valve. Thanks in advance
Hard to tell without seeing it.
Great! When a man has skillful hands, he makes the old new!👍
Thanks for the video! What mantle does the 236 use?? Thanks!
Chart says #11
I used 3 PVC pipes n a tarp. Bungie cords. Works great for me. I saved 1000 dollars. ❤❤❤❤❤😊😊
The Napier costs $229 in Canada, maybe if you were to buy 4 you’d save $1000
Personally I would use finer steel wool and a soft cloth with the mother's. I've been seeing a lot of fixed up lanterns for sale scratched up.
Very nice! Thanks for taking the time to show how to assemble.
THE ABSOLUTE BEST install/disassemble video for this model truck tent, I will apply your tips and tricks. I wish you well, and thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video thank you
Thanks for watching
Why did you go below the rear bumper with the 3 rear straps and not just around the tailgate?
Will have to try that next time but didn’t think that would work.
@@fandazkanady @olamiteisms6220 Don't. That middle strap's clip is a **BITCH** to fish through that gap of the bottom of the tailgate and the bumper. There is a very slight curve to the tailgate (at least there is on my 2019 colorado) that makes the gap about a half inch tighter than the ends and it makes all the difference (problem) in the world. You need something like a bent metal coathanger to fight getting the strap clip lined up to pass through. The best advice this video gives is to go around the bumper too. I was watching and wondering if it was possible right before he actually did it and was sold on it. Another suggestion I have is right after pocketing the green center pole, before lifting and pocketing the crossing black poles, is to lay the fly on and clip the two straps as shown on the sides. That way when you pocket the crossing black poles, the fly is already in place and gets lifted as well. You should be able to reach up and under the fly to clip on the pole clips as usual afterward. Perfect video though!
Great video man. Hope to see more in the future
More to come!
Very good tutorial on disassembly and cleaning. Very poor reassembly tutorial.Almost useless.
Never seen that model, is it Canadian? Never mind lol, I seen the label on the vinegar in English and French. Nice lamp.
Restoration? That stove looks like it was lit only once.
Maybe the video will help someone restore theirs.
@@fandazkanady You are absolutely right.
Found your channel because I bought the same truck tent (Napier). Good vids.
Awesome! Thank you!
Nice job, BTW did you check the inside of the fount??
Pretty sure I did.
Nice video! I have fews coleman lanterns 335,200,220f and 2 milspecs lanterns. They are fun to rebuilt and the 335's are among my favorites. They give plenty of light and easy to maintain. The generators are rarely beyong repair. If the tip cleaner isnt broken, they can be cleaned and reused pretty much forever. The cardboard tube are available from US but i never needed to replace one yet. First one i restored i was using vinegar to clean the parts but now i use citric acid solution, work better and faster, also clean aluminium collar perfectly. As thread sealant for valve to fount,i used blue loctite and now i switched to permatex indian head shellack. I didnt have the chance to find 999 mantles for my 335's so i use peerless 24a wich is same size. The new coleman mantles quality sucks. Old silklite are better when you can find for resonable coast.
Thanks for the tips!
Thank you so much
You're most welcome
Love the video😊
Thank you!

When the generator fails on these lanterns what exactly goes wrong with them? I'm looking at a 335 lantern for $80 that looks to be in really good shape, but the generators are hard to come by in Canada. They can be ordered from the US but shipping is usually quite expensive. Is it the cardboard looking tube that becomes faulty? The rest of it looks rather simple and easy to clean.
Usually carbon buildup in the tip and inside the generator tube. As long as the cardboard tube is holding its shape, it should be fine. Check the needle that it’s not broken off.
@@fandazkanady What about the spring? Is that just there to help atomize the fuel. It kind of makes sense that it just provides mass for holding heat.
Probably best to ask at the Coleman Lantern, Stove, Collectors, Parts, Service, Fix, Repair Forum on Facebook
Your all setup like the Canadian Prepper. Ever consider laying down a few riffs to use your own music? Hope you guys had a great time.
Thanks for taking the time to demonstrate. Well done!
Glad it was helpful!
Good job. I no longer even use the straps on the tail door. Works fine without them.
Good to know!
Absolutely great tutorial. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Question- I have a Chevy with the 5'8" bed, so similar to your vehicle, but I have a quad-fold tonneau cover. When folded all the way up towards the cab, it still covers about 5 inches of the bed. Do you think the Napier Backroadz Tent will work with my setup? Is the tonneau going to prevent proper installation?
I have a tonneau cover too and I remove it every time before installing the tent.
I have a rolling soft cover that i leave installed. So, from experience, I would say that your folding cover would take up too much room. If my rolled soft cover took up any more room than it does, I would remove it each time. Also, depending on your cover's rail mounts, they may be a risk to the tent material. I zip-tie pieces of pool noodle over my rail clamps to protect the tent.
What size is your truck bed?
5' I think. It is a crew cab.
thanks for this
You're welcome
I am about to embark on the same journey with my 1963 model 236 - made on Davies Street here in Toronto. Your video is excellent and will be something that I re-visit along they way! Well done - Subscribed!
Thanks. I was lucky I didn't have to burn out the filler cap gasket or take out the check valve on this one. If you need to do that, there are videos that show you how.
@@fandazkanady Thanks! Mine is in remarkably good shape...I was very surprised.
❤
Well done!👍
Thank you! 👍
I find it is a WHOLE lot easier to set up the tent on the ground then just put it in the truck and secure it.
wow very interesting!
Glad you think so!
What a great restoration. Keep up the great work 👏👏
Thank you very much!
Didn't show the hardest part, which is removing the check valve. You need a special tool to do it reliably.
I had a fellow collector help me with removing and cleaning the check valve as I am yet to get the removal tool.
The baking powder neutralizes the acid of the vinegar.............Defeats the purpose, common sense.
The baking soda was added after several hours, as it says in the video, to neutralize the acid and prevent further pinking of the brass parts.
Why do you need to restore it?
So that it works and looks pretty
Thank you
Such a great restoration 👏👏
Thank you very much!
Super!
Fannda. Bravo! very insane channel~catch you later~
The Colman lantern is an icon of America’s love of the outdoors and family camping. Great memories and wonderful rehab.
This is, of course, in Canada
This one is made in Canada!!
I’m just blown away by the spectacular restorations of these great artifacts of times past and the craftsman ship and dedication to these epic restorations I’m just in awe and I’m just speechless
If you use finer steel wool , or SOS cleaning pads you will not see the scratches in the soft aluminum as much .Great job nice finished product .
Really helpful video! Napier should link to this.
Thank you for this video. As a child of the 1950s, these Coleman lanterns were ubiquitous. We used them for camping, night, and ice fishing. I still have couple of them . I haven't fired one up in several decades. You have inspired me to get one or more running again, Not a full resto as you have done, but just operating safely.
Got to love the sound of a Colman Lantern
Very well done video. Very detailed and precise, especially the specific order of installation and take down, which is more detailed than the factory instructions. This is because I will be doing this by myself.
Glad it was helpful!
