@@patrickhundley1203 it's the best way to do it, instead of living in a hotel. I lived in MTL for 10 years. I understand the attraction to the city, but living there was a nightmare. 99% of Canada is woods, lake, peace and quiet. That's why i live for.

Enfin ... Poutine et Gelato ... on ne parle pas de la même chose bien sûr!

@@clairemercier3969 Maybe your circle actually despises poutine as a low-brow dish - and there is some truth to it - but it is very popular in Montreal and the rest of Quebec as well. It's not only a "tourist" food, by any means.

Most people who take the bus are young working individuals in the city! No shame in it!!! On the contrary older retired people are usually in their cars driving themselves places.

I am a 60 year old Montrealer and one thing I like about the city is the bike trails. Next time you visit I will be glad to show you the trail that goes from old Montreal all the way to lake St-Louis or the one from St-Lambert to Varennes. These trails are beautiful. You can also take a shuttle on the St-Laurence river on one of the Navark shuttles.

🤣🤣🤣! You seem to like poutine! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I don’t blame you it is amazing! 🤣🤣🤣 for the botanical garden your opinion about it would change if you talked to any of the cool gardeners maintaining it. Yes the round about on the bicycle path is very unique as I recognized it right away. There is only one. 🤣🤣🤣 very good video! Well done. When you come back to Montreal make sure that you go to China town for dim sum while listening to Leonard Cohen music. If you like winter Montreal is very nice to visit during winter.

Great video! I hadn’t been to Montreal 4 years due to the pandemic. The metro trains are brand new…do they still have rubber tires? Only other one I’ve seen was the Mexico City subway. Anyway, there are sites out there where people offer their places for house- and pet-sitting so you can go away for long periods of time without worrying about lodging. Something to look into as you get into doing more travel abroad!

      Hello from Montréal.
Yes, they are still with rubber tires.

A few lines in Paris are with rubber tires. Montreal and Mexico City bought the technology when they built their subway system. The decision makers (back in the 60s) say that they are quieter and have better acceleration.

I was actually pet sitting for someone i knew! I also thought the rubber tires were strange on the metro, it made a lot of noise when they were going fast, but the trains were really nice otherwise!

So many interesting moments in your video, and so many comments ! Not sure if you knew, but the Biosphere that appears at the beginning and end (the metallic sphere with violet lighting) used to be the US pavilion in the 1967 World Exposition (Expo 67). Designed by R. Buckminster Fuller, it is one of the few original pavilions still standing. It was ceded to the city by President Lyndon Johnson.

Sigh. The American mentality of thinking buses are for old or poor people. Enjoyed your video! I’m American who moved to Montréal years back. Ok… which park had that self cleaning self disinfecting bathroom?? I never heard of that 😮

Yeah, that comment was a bit insulting to older people. Either he thinks that only older people ride the bus, or he thinks that they cannot ride bikes.

Dude remember that poutine as it was, what you had there was a real poutine.
Even we (Quebequers) make modifications to the recipe sometimes but a real poutine is cheese, fries and gravy and it will always be the best.
I am baffled that you managed to find things to do in Montreal for a full month, I guess that's the sign of a true traveler, you must be a natural.
Hope you had a couple nights out at the bar and got a chance to meet some of us as well during your trip, I would say most of us are really good people.
    Cheers

Kudos for a first-time traveler! You are so well-documented Your videos and pictures are magnificent. You captured the essence of living in Montreal (and left out the annoyances, like construction cones and trash). Your video of Jean-Talon station, the bridges, the islands, the Belvedere by the footpath, ... means that you explored a lot of corners of Montreal, something that many Montrealers have never done. Thank you for visiting us!
I am a Quebecer who grew up in Montreal. What do you have in store on your day trip to Quebec? Looking forward to see it.

Love your review and video, great images. Can’t get over the fact that as a Montrealer I realise that I’m frustrated to see a very basic apartment being rented as another Rbnb when there is a completly out of control housing crisis going on here. Not your fault of course, i do not wish to focus on that, but I had to make this observation.
