As of 2021, S/MIME certificate is only paid with free as in a free trial ranging from 30 days to 1 year. After that you have to PAY!!. Please note that in some cases you may even have to pay to revoke the certificate.
PS: I thought of making my own smime using OpenSSL, but sadly in corporate, Self signed certificates are not valued.
