Well its interesting that Paginated reports are being added Power BI Service. But one thing I would have really liked is making the Power BI's table & matrix visuals more powerful (allow more formatting, exporting & printing for multi-row/multi-page reports). If the table & matrix visuals were made more powerful (primarily allowed printing for multi-page) then I would not need Paginated reports. You could essentially replicate the paginated report in Power BI report except that when one tries to export to Excel (it comes out as a plain data table), or when one tries to print it - it prints a screenshot (not the entire table). Adam/Patrick/Others any thoughts?

Love the Paginated Report addition as well! However, I do find the Query Designer for On Premise datasets (which utilizes DAX) quirky and limited compared to the SQL-based counterpart used with external data sources. Find the query builder a time saver, just limiting.
Yes, web based experience replacing power bi desktop. PowerApps does it and it works very well. For paginated reports it would be awesome to have a visual inside power bi (desktop or web) that consumes data from the model and creates a paginated visual (with measures and all) that can be filtered by other visuals in the report.
they should just make the table/matrix more formattable and export/printable with multiple pages of data!

Be good to have a PaaS service for SSRS and would be great if we can get that to be built in to Power BI.
That was tried a while back. Azure SQL Reporting. It didn't go so well. But, it is being built into Power BI. The paginated reports are that first step. Chris comments in the video that other pieces that folks love about SSRS will be coming like subscriptions.
Happy to see paginated reports come to Power Bi. I'm moving a client right now from on-premises to the cloud. The one thing that stopped is from going to Power Bi is that they don't have enough reporting use to justify getting premium service. So the downside is that it is not being offered for pro subscriptions.
Yeah it would be great if it were usable outside of Premium, but today, that is the only option.
Awesome paginated report in power bi... I love to see booth in one tool powers desktop , where paginated report can be as tooltip for graph or printing analytic result from one same tool. also it can be as type of visualization like others R, python, etc..

If you could integrate Power BI desktop within SSDT it would be great. About Data Driven Subscription....can we finaly easily parameterize attachment name?
With how quickly Power BI Desktop is developing, it feels like it will eventually replace SSDT for developing data models for Analysis Services (as well as for the Power BI service).
A similar thing may happen with RDL reports, where either an upgraded Report Builder tool is made, or the Report Builder functionality is bundled in with Power BI Desktop (e.g. option to create a pbix or rdl file).
I think that the need for pixel perfect paginated reports is probably not going to go away anytime soon, and with RDL reports appearing in the same PBI service, it probably makes sense to have them in the same tool.
What may be tricky (but would be great) is making sure that models developed in PBI Desktop can still be deployed to Analysis Services, and that rdl reports (if also developed in PBI desktop) can still be deployed to Reporting Services.
Q: can paginated reports be tabbed in power bi to allow more than 1? If not please add that functionality!
You joke about tiff but some imaging systems use tiff as their primary image format. Getting invoice copies, etc. into the imaging system without dealing with a bunch of middle ware can make some people's lives wonderful.
Uploading of Paginated report in powerbi service is only available on premium account. Can i share the paginated report to plain powerbi pro users?
Yes, sharing works the same way as with Power BI Reports.

Great Video and Explanations!Some contrasing views though. Dos Microsoft really need to create a new toolset for paginated reports?? It would be more confusing for new users to learn one more tool ! Wouldn't it be nice to have a new visual in Power BI that can be customized to act as a authoring tool for Paginated Reports! Something similar to Power Apps.Let us know your comments below!

Kit Zander There’s no dependency on SSRS as part of this implementation. It’s just part of Power BI

Not a particularly interesting video I'm afraid. You're other video set a high benchmark. Maybe I'm missing something but it sounds like paginated reports have considerably less to offer than a PBI reports and there really they should be more interconnectivity between both. Better to interview a product manager that is offering functionality that is in place, not selling fresh air.
