When I bought my XTX it was a no brainer compared to what Nvidia had to offer. My total budget for triple 1440p monitors, monitor stand and a GPU was about €2000. Ad a bit from selling my old GPU and monitor. The super was not out yet and the 4080 was €200 more than the XTX. I mostly played ACC then so was very happy with the upgrade (Came from an RX 6800) playing with a mix of high and epic settings locked at 120fps. with no problem. I recently switched to iRacing and am now a bit dissapointed with what I'm seeing. I understand that triples can be very demanding but I expected more from the top of the line GPU from AMD. I have to turn so many settings down to medium and run with FSR to get it running at a decent 100fps. I promised my wife I'm done upgrading for a while but I very much thinking about it. Hopefully a driver update will improve performance but I feel like sim racing is not something that is on the top of the priority list when these updates are done. Thanks for the video's. No driver will increase performance, since it is an Iracing problem. They implemented a Nvidia triple screen technology, but not the AMD equivalent. This is why AMD cards perform badly on triple screen setups in Iracing.

10/10 for effort and comprehensiveness on the video. However, the fundamental error with all the data here is that FSR is enabled, which doesn't provide actual data of what the GPUs are capable of, therefore with it being an AMD favoured upscaling, the results will skew towards the Radeon card, where they may not have if DLSS had also been used for the 4080S. Yes, the 4080S may run FSR but it isn't built around the Nvidia card per se, it's simply compatible with it, not optimized for it. TL;DR Upscaling shouldn't be used when comparing GPUs.
Thank you. Yes, I understand your point! It's been rolling around in my head since you last commented about it. I do hear you :) Unfortunately for us "native" gamers, synthetic performance options are becoming the norm, and these cards and drivers are promoting it everywhere. I was blown away at how many Adrenalin features promote this approach to rendering: Radeon Super Resolution, AMD Fluid Motion Frames, Radeon Anti-Lag, Radeon Boost, Radeon Enhanced Sync... all those can introduce artifacts and mask 'real' rasterization performance, but (usually) increase fps. If we collected poll results from ACC users, especially those on triple screens, I suspect the majority run FSR, DLSS, or modified DLSS. @@BenchmarkOdysseys So, the numbers are higher with DLSS on versus FSR Ultra, and that's my point. It adds another layer to the discussion when comparing hardware. It makes the conversation less about the hardware but more about the upscaling.

This is top notch content bro. It will be great to compare GPU's in VR (same as with CPU's) in Iracing if you will have ability to do so. Thank's a lot.
To expand on this topic, I use a 7950x chip with 4080 super in my rig. Initially I was going for the x3d but as I use my pc as a daw and video editing, I opted for the x instead, because I wanted straight raw power. I know the Intel and how the cores are also structured in a way that's holding performance in reserve creating the bottlenecks.
yes, great video. I'm looking to get PC. I have plasma TV and will play on it. I will get the best and best futureproof GPU and CPU for playing ACC and AC EVO on my TV, later going VR. Preorderd Pimax Crystal Light. will be building PC with 4080 super
Thanks for this, I've been looking for these videos for a while so I appreciate your efforts. I'm on the verge of getting a PC built for both these Sims but trying to do it on a budget. I appreciate everyone wanting different GPUs tested, but where would you think a 6800xt or 7700xt would sit in this test using a 5600 or 5800x3d?
Would the triple 4k translate into VR performance? Asking because VR would be around 2*4k at 72/90fps ideal performance. Just wondering how the two 4080 and 7900xtx would fare
One thing that make the 7900xtx is that it can be extremely overclock because of is architecture, its seam like amd don't really tell anything about probably because of power consumption, but you can get close to 4090 perf with the red devil version of the 7900xtx... at the price of extreme power consumption but man that impressive for the price
For these results, I ran the 7900 XTX at 2750 (min), 3050 (max), 2700 (memory), and maximum power limit. This provided a boost to performance and closed the gap to the 4080S (until I also boosted it's clocks). Even with those OC clocks, it would regularly drop the GPU into the 2600 range (as shown with the Avg GPU clock at the beginning of the video). I've read that this clock regulation could be from other thermal hot spots (not GPU temp) and the XFX Merc 310 model does not have the best thermal solution.
Regarding the rx 7000 not boosting high enough with some games... I have the same problem with the rx 7800 xt. I've researched as much as I could and I found that on rx 5000 and rx 6000 it was possible to set the gpus to always run with high clocks as they should but because amd changed something with the rx 7000 vga bios on them, it's not possible on the newest cards anymore... at least on windows. I've also found software to raise the clock speeds for the rx 7000 but it looks like it only works on Linux
I had to go to 1800p to get my 7800xt maxed with 5800x3d and then fps is close or similar to rtx 4090 with 7800x3d that is only 50 to 60% utilized at that resolution. Very interesting video. I wonder how they plan to run upcoming rtx 5090 with todays CPUs..
iRacing is clever with manipulating textures/LOD to automatically fit within the VRAM you have available. Heck, they even took the VRAM and RAM sliders away from us a few seasons ago! Both the 4070 Super and 4070 Ti have a 192-bit bus because each uses 6 memory modules, so the Ti is physically limited as it attempts to leverage that extra 4 GB capacity. The higher clocks and more cores of the Ti may help it more with VR than it's memory capacity.
@BenchmarkOdysseys Thank you for taking the time to respond! That totally makes sense thanks! Learning a lot from watching your channel appreciate it bro✨️✨️
Please do a iracing VR video? I’m want to know if i have to buy a nvidia 4080 super or the 7900xtx. I rather buy the 7900 but only if its better with vr and iracing
Yes I will be! My early observations are simple: Go for the 4080 Super. It will be another couple weeks before I post results from the XTX, I'm hoping to get the Triples analysis published after this weekend :)
Thank you for this vidéo ! I drive on iracing and i want go to 7900x3d with 4080S or 4090 but when i see the gpu utilisation i don't think if an 12600k with 3080ti is good for save money (triple 1440p) ? What is your software for see deviation ? Thanks !!! :)
Cheers mate! Triple 1440p is demanding on the GPU, and you can expect +25% improvement with 4080S compared to 3080Ti. That gap may increase with a faster CPU. A slower CPU (like 12600K) will reduce FPS from both cards. 7900X3D is 'ok' for gaming, but it has 12 cores split into two chiplets. One has 6 cores with 3D V-Cache, the other has 6 cores without 3D V-Cache. 7800X3D is better because it has 8 Cores but all with 3D V-Cache.

One thing I can say is ACC triple monitor coding is innefficient. You can see that comparing the triple 1080p to the single 4k result which have 25% more pixel, and also to other Sim Racing apps. I remember seeing Aris (at the time Kunos lead vehiche and physics figure) saying they (Kunos) had to implement the coding as Unreal Engine didn't provide the triple coding within their engine. I guess their implementation while letting us have triple, is inefficient on the CPU side that has to do the preparation work.
As a triple user, thats the least of our worries, im supper happy that we have it at all otherwise it would be hard to convince myself playing acc at all
Generally speaking, your FPS during a lap will be more consistent with ACC, there's less variation from track-to-track, weather and lighting impacts performance less, but the GPU will work harder in ACC.
Will AMD eyefinity support AFMF? If it's supported, I think it makes more sense to buy a 7900XTX, but I don't know if I'm going to apply. If I use DLSS on a 4080S, is there a frame up in a triple environment?
From my understanding, AMD has clumped all of its newest tech under the HYPR-RX umbrella, which means developers have to modify and integrate each simulator to be "HYPR-Tuned". Even if the game is tuned and supports these features, running windowed breaks the tech, so running Eyefinity with the sim full-screen would be a requirement for triple screens. Maybe Kunos will inetgrated HYPR-RX into the next Assetto Corsa sim, but do not expect any support in AC or ACC.
so what you're saying in the beginning about why no iracing is, that the amd is really bad for iracing (because of some bug or error that shouldnt be there?!)
I started benching iRacing, got confused by the results, so I tried ACC to validate the performance. The 7900 XTX results looked good, so I published them. Now I'm going to take what I learned, and look more closely at iRacing!

Exemple Talladega 100 voitures Le Mans 80 voitures. Dois-je garder mon matériel ou passer à un 7800 X3D ou un 13700 K ? Merci de m'éclairer sur ce point .
I tested 'whats included in the box' with ACC. I tested all the AA and image enhancement methods, and it seemed like FSR had the least impact and could be used on all the cards.
Hello. I checked the couch cushions, but nope, didn't find a 4070ti super :) I like that it has a 256 bit memory bus, unlike the other 4070 models, and that will help with larger resolutions (like triple 1440p and beyond). The rest of its specs seem to line up with it's pricing position in the 40 series lineup.
Dude im using a 4070 super hitting almost 100fps in 4k epic lol. But i have a huge bottleneck also using an i5 13400f. Its a 31% bottleneck. So i paid 450 dollars for.my 4070 super. Wouldnt you say thats about as good as it gets for price/perfromance? One weird thing id your test had the 7900xtx much closer to the 4080 super then any other comparison ive seen in this sim It tells me that amd drivers have really improved its performance in some games because just 10 months ago thr 4080 super was like 30 to 40fps higher then the 7900xt not even joking.
Yeah I think you're right, the 4070 Super seems to provide great value, especially if you can get one under MSRP. I'm not sure how others benchmark, but I know my process is consistent for each GPU or CPU I test within each video. Not only do Radeon/GeForce drivers change, but the sims also get updates, so performance is always in flux.
Great question, and streaming is not something I have experimented with. It seems like most 'full-time' streamers separate racing comp from streaming comp, so if the sim crashes or that system has other issues, the stream can stay up. I've also seen some people run two video cards in the same computer with the second dedicated to streaming. But you're curious about a single CPU and single video card?
@@BenchmarkOdysseys can you look into it and get back with me of what you would think and do I would like to know because that's what I want to do but I also heard that I don't want the computer to Benchmark for bottle cap maybe you can make it your little project LOL but I really like to know your thoughts can you take your time and look into it
Unlikely. I think the performance difference between the two cars would be smaller than the price difference. Therefore, the 7900 XT is a better AMD card to buy than 7900 XTX.

I started benching iRacing, got confused by the results, so I tried ACC to validate the performance. The 7900 XTX results looked good, so I published them. Now I'm going to take what I learned, and look more closely at iRacing!
@@BenchmarkOdysseys i heard from quite a few people that the 7900xtx performs (comperatively) awful in iracing
Exemple Talladega 100 voitures Le Mans 80 voitures. Dois-je garder mon matériel ou passer à un 7800 X3D ou un 13700 K ? Merci de m'éclairer sur ce point .
Hello! Yes, I think you should consider a CPU upgrade. You can email me at benchmarkodysseys@gmail.com if that's easier for language translation :)
FSR version 1 on a XTX... Why?
I tested 'whats included in the box' with ACC. I tested all the AA and image enhancement methods, and it seemed like FSR had the least impact and could be used on all the cards.
Hi, by any chance do you have a 4070 ti super too?😅
@@BenchmarkOdysseys I want to buy one in the near future for a triple screen 1440p setup and I want to gather as much information as possible 😄
One weird thing id your test had the 7900xtx much closer to the 4080 super then any other comparison ive seen in this sim
It tells me that amd drivers have really improved its performance in some games because just 10 months ago thr 4080 super was like 30 to 40fps higher then the 7900xt not even joking.
Yeah I think you're right, the 4070 Super seems to provide great value, especially if you can get one under MSRP.
I'm not sure how others benchmark, but I know my process is consistent for each GPU or CPU I test within each video. Not only do Radeon/GeForce drivers change, but the sims also get updates, so performance is always in flux.
what would be the pc build for I racing and streaming
Great question, and streaming is not something I have experimented with.
It seems like most 'full-time' streamers separate racing comp from streaming comp, so if the sim crashes or that system has other issues, the stream can stay up. I've also seen some people run two video cards in the same computer with the second dedicated to streaming.
But you're curious about a single CPU and single video card?
@@BenchmarkOdysseys can you look into it and get back with me of what you would think and do I would like to know because that's what I want to do but I also heard that I don't want the computer to Benchmark for bottle cap maybe you can make it your little project LOL but I really like to know your thoughts can you take your time and look into it
Are you gonna test tes 7900xt maybe agaainst the 7900xtx
Unlikely. I think the performance difference between the two cars would be smaller than the price difference. Therefore, the 7900 XT is a better AMD card to buy than 7900 XTX.
@@BenchmarkOdysseys i hope it, i bought a asus tuf 7900xt, 3 days ago must arrive today. Rightnow i have a 6800 xt i dont know why but i only get like 50 - 80 fps in rf2 my brother has the same card but gets around 115-130 fps with the same settings we also have the same cpu i dont know why my fps is so low the same in le man ultimate only 60-85 fps and he gets 110-130 in other games Mike iracing ams2 ACC we habe almost the same fps
@@KingKing-yk5wi Interesting, and I hope the upgrade delivers the performance you are looking for. I'm planning to do testing of Le Mans Ultimate in the near the future.
