AM I correct to say, 1D opener shows 4D, 12 PTS

At least 3 diamonds. If I have the one hand 4 spades, 4 hearts, 3 diamonds, and 2 clubs I will open 1 diamond. 96% or 95% of the time I will have 4 diamonds. I do not play that 1 club could be two opener. I don't think it is worth it. I don't look to be in a minor anyway.
