They JUST dropped an update for this game right after I was done! Changelog: Adjusted center of mass on Ocean Runner and Selfy (Should not go under water anymore) Adjusted swordfish population (Made it harder to find outside habitats) Added second bait freezer on Arctic Pioneer Enabled fast travel on custom delivery missions Fixed issue with lost crew when loading savegame (Previous lost crew should now be restored to crew house) Fixed issue with missing repair net function Fixed issue with AI boats not finding habitats Fixed issue with gutting Silver Hake Fixed lobster tutorial on No Yankee Fixed market price crash after selling catch at port Fixed lobster mechanic on Selfy Improved multi-pot setting Increased quota on all FNA boats except Deckster Removed snow crab from Arctic Pioneer (Cannot fish Snow crab) Tweaked shipyard preview Tweaked lights on Follabuen Updated Finnish language
I wish someone would make a fishing game covering the US Gulf Coast, and in addition to having the ability to net or trawl for fish, have the ability to do shrimping, or even operate charters with NPCs where you have to locate wrecks for bottom fishing, keep the customers on the fish while fighting currents to make sure they're catching their limits, and build reputations on how good your trips are to increase your popularity and get more customers. So not just fishing, but incorporate chartering and some good business management aspects.
Hey Jeff how do you find these games? Do you use the Steam queue or just browse for a while? You always find these really entertaining lesser known titles.
Ive got about 30 hours into this game. Only thing i dont like is the curve for boat prices. You can go for a decent starting boat for around 450k, but then smaller crab boats start at like 6.5 MILLION. Like wtf. Lol even deep line sword fishing with 24 lines only yeilds like 250k
Crabbing is beyond broken atm. No tips on where to find them, the crew gets tired pulling 25-30 pots. They have a good baseline for this game. But it still needs some tlc lol
All I can say is to avoid this game for the foreseeable future. While the models look nice and things look pretty, things below the hood are rotten. Even after the update, lobster and crab fishing is still broken. The even managed to break longlining, deepline fishing and net fishing in the process of trying to fix stuff. The game isn't optimized at all. While trying to sell my catch from trawling, the game went unresponsive for awhile and somehow took up 24 gb of ram. I'd expect this from an early access game, but for a fully released game it's not acceptable in my eyes.
You talking about how the ports are realistic just makes me want a Microsoft Boat Simulator... Basically Flight sim 2020 but with more customisation/focus around ports rather than airports... Would of course be less involved than a flight sim so it'd be cool to have the ability to walk around the boats/ships you use, maybe implement engine/sail work, ships maintenance, stuff like that, things to keep you busy whilst out at sea...
If this doesn't have mod support, then I'm not interested. The lack of mod support is what killed the momentum of ppl returning back to their last game, since it was lacking content.
I'm thinking about buying this game but I'm really curious if it lets you go down to the engineering space. There's a screenshot on the 1st game of part of an engine room but I haven't found any videos where people go down into the engine room and see the equipment
I get that this is a simulation game and tries to be the most realistic, but I couldn't get into it. I played it for two hours, amd maybe did 15 minutes worth of fishing, rest of watching the boat drive.
Why they show the bites!? Is this realistic? There is no luck factor anymore. Just wait 14 hours and bam! Thank you anyway for this review. Cheers..... Btw i would name my boat "unsinkable 2"😄
Saw Cape Forchu on the map, which I can see if I travel up to Main Street. (Dude, this is so close to my home town.) Have an uncle that works at the Dennis Point wharf in West Pubnico, Nova Scotia. :-) (Those weren't a bunch of lighthouse's Jeff. Wind turbines on the coast of West Pubnico, Nova Scotia.)
The Comfortably Numb? Great name, must have taken some Time, also mabye some Money. All well, it’s just Another Brick In The Wall... Wish You Were Here :/
The only way I can experience commercial fishing :( I live in Maine and have always wanted to be a lobsterman, but boats are insanely expensive, licenses are not only expensive but you get put on a waiting list that could last years, all to earn only $30k per year. There are tons of jobs that pay far better for far less investment.
OMG...i bought and played this tonight, but couldnt figure out how to fast nav..so i was hours just cruising! LOL Now the only thing I cannot figure out, is how to get fuel for the boat. I know where it says to look, but its not in there?
Fun fact, I was born, raised and work all my 20s in the areas this game is based. Lived about 30 minutes from Dennis Point and frequented there a lot to unload the boats.
Do more videos of this game! maybe one with a "RP story" of some sort with a goal in place and explore on "days off" Just an idea, but more videos will be great of this.

Very cool to see a game based out of my province. Cheers from NS Canada
Not sure if you know or are interested. There's a boxing movie filmed in Halifax called a poor boys game.
Is NL in the game?
The worker was standing there for 16 hours straight 🤣
he's a good man LOL
He must of been in the services as a guard, old habits.
Not first
Jeff, pin this comment for no reason

steam!
Glad to see this game getting some attention. The devs for this game seem like a great bunch and did a wonderful job supporting Barents Sea.

I totally agree it needs balance
@@jfavignano i think they should make 1 of the entry level crab boats like 3m. That would be alot more attainable.

I'm about an hour away from pubnico (Dennis point) and about 20 minutes from lockeport, so this was really cool to watch

Love the channel Jeff, but you’ve clearly never been to Nova Scotia where the local motto is: “If you don’t like the weather, wait five minutes.”
literally every place ever says that. lol
As somebody who's worked at Dennis point wharf before in real life, this is trippy as hell.
Would like to see more vids on this game before I even consider buying it.
First?
Nope

Me: Dennis Port? Cool!! Been there many times.
Jeff: Based in Canada
Me: Oh
I lived in Dennisport!! Chase St :)
My first thought when this fishing game came out is it's similar to ( Wicked Tuna) which basically reality fishing show.
This would be a awesome series!

Need more 💯💯💯💯💯
loved fishing since I was a kid, still have to try Ocean fishing tho
Actually if you sell at yarmouth and bait your lines with herring you can catch big tuna and you can make 100k +
This game looks great, keep up the good work Jeff ❤️
Looks like a fun time Jeff can't wait for more of this in the future
Hey u r the best
Please do more videos this war really interesting
Nice video!!!
They need to make games like this multiplayer, would be so much fun with a buddy
Just s you know instead of clicking to bait, click and hold then drag right for up left for down

Hey Jeff Question Please Can You Answer
This game is cool to me because I live in Nova Scotia and I know people who fish in these areas
I seen Alex play and well I have to say not bad :3 for a Canadian like me this makes me a little bit homesick
Frantic played this today too
Hello jeff
If this game looks interesting at all get fishing barents sea when its on sale. It is actually pretty dang good.
neds co op
Are any of the Deadliest Catch boats in this game?
HOLY! im from Pubnico! where you started off! :0
This is just like fishing Barents sea which game do you think is better?
Iv watched drae play this and I whould want you to play it as well because i like it (:
Seems like every second follower you have is from Nova Scotia
I used to love that deadliest catch game for Xbox 360
Try Fishing Barret sea and do a review to see which one you think is better
Hit Dismiss and the options wont go off the bottom of the screen...
Hey Jeff can I take to you on discord about something
pretty sure these kind of boats are supposed to have in board engines
I wonder if there will ever be a new simulator that does not use Unreal
Cool the province right next to mine from NB Canada
He Kinda sounds like raptor dont know why but yeah
Why the hell does your boat have a dock attached to the front of it?

Good video job Jeff but as a game,...yawn....the ocean graphic is very well done, very “ fluid” in motion lol☕️☕️💰💷
I love this game and we have been having a blast with it in streams
