Part 2: Structure Protection Strategies in the Wildland/Urban Interface
The Fire Fighter Safety Series is a multipart instructional package developed for small community fire departments to address the problems faced by structural and wildland firefighters when fighting fires, especially those threatening structures in the wildland/urban interface.
I have to hand it to you- this is incredible. You cover elements that only true wildland firefighters have been through. Proper gear, health, and open mental growth are key to survival. And don't touch the handrails... Thanks!
Flash cooked tartare rather than grilled burger. Man glad you made it.
Sorry- there is one test I run on almost every firefighter I meet... I will politely stop them, look them lovingly in the unburned eye, and say..."Happy Camp". Maybe a bit off subject but you did come pretty close to tickling the subject. Thanks, again
This needs to be renamed from structure protection strategies to evacuation routes and safety.
That's pretty much what structure groups are. How long can we stay and at which trigger points do we begin to consider-very seriously- which escape route didn't get cut off yet? Structure protection is very simple. Can you leave it alone, can you remove some household stuff, cut the prized tree, pulled granny's' prize Purple Cush that wins worldwide acclaim. There is a lot more that goes into this-as you probably know. The third type is-I don't have enough trust that this will be incinerated within the hour and you need to get a quick snapshot and a ribbon on the entry. No need to look for the ribbon- that's what the GPS is for.
That's what you get for making good comments.
Well done sir! Respect
Why would you send one person to fight a fire with a dozer, that's just ridiculous. Poor guy I hope they don't do this any more.
