Brooklands Circuit - Test Hill & Members Bridge
In this short video I take you on a walk along the Brooklands Test Hill and over the Members Bridge. We have a great view over the abandoned race track of Brooklands, famous for it's high banking.
About the Brooklands Circuit:
The Brooklands Circuit in Weybridge, England (UK) was the first ever purpose built race track in the world! It contained an high banked oval, a road circuit (the Campbell Circuit) and a test hill.
The oval was 4.453 km (2.767 Miles) long, and the Campbell Circuit 3.648 km (2.267 Miles).
Brooklands opened in 1907 and closed in 1939. During WWII a part of the banking was demolished to expand the Vickers aircraft factory.
Now the track was not longer usable they continued with the demolishing after WWII. What remained get the status of National Monument in 2001, to prevent further demolition. A part of the old race track is now a museum.
About my visit to Brooklands:
I visited the old Brooklands Circuit in the summer of 2018. The footage in this video was made at the Brooklands Museum, wich containes a remain of Members Banking, Test Hill and Members Bridge.

thank god its protected from attempts of demolish it more. they should have started protect it much earlier so that no one brings more harm to legendary circuit.

Fun fact: in 2009 brooklands circuit was used in episode of james May toy stories where he recreated the brooklands circuit with scalextric which was in world record book measure to 2.75 miles in realty 2.95 miles was due to modern stuff
