@@Tolotoss what they meant is, in the video she said theres 5 books but at the date of publishing the video #5 hasn't been released yet. So they future proofed the video by saying there are 5 out.
As someone who played DnD a handful of times like 7 years ago. I had fun then but couldn’t find people to play with for a while. Then all the stuff WotC have done have kind of irked me. So, instead of trying to jump into DnD again. I’ve been looking for something else. I’ve spent quite of a bit money in this endeavor. Got tons of stuff for pathfinder, the necessary ones for Call of Cthulhu, and was looking into Matthew Mercer’s Daggerheart. I’ve had on my shelf for a long time now, several of Brandon’s books. Never read them because I was going through others. Now that I’m aware of this ROG. It feels like a good time to read them, and get back into TTRPGs.
I consume fantasy books like a tree consumes water, and I have to say that the Stormlight Archive is my favourite series ever. I'm jealous, you're in for a treat!
I wish we could afford this - I played as a DM with my buddies for 15 years - now my kids are getting into it as well. Things are just too tight on the budget. Thanks for the video, it was fun to watch. Sanderson is by far my favorite author
Please do a full one shot of this at some point (with Gina please she’s awesome!) This system seems really interesting, looking forward to it next year.
Great video. The tabletop play examples look good - nice clean cuts and camera perspectives, clean and uncomplicated examples of the different skill tests... and the bluish-purple cloud background of the main explanation sequence, the clouds look good and varied, and lighted well. Thank you for making this!!
Never read Sanderson (just bought a used copy of 1st Mistborn book, it's on my TBR) but as a D&D 5e DM this feels familiar but different enough that my games and players wont fall into the usual tropes. I like having a plot die and the notion that you can "multicalss" easily and without detriment to the character's power.
Becca you may be my favorite celebrity. I love your work and your smile is infectious. Particularly big fan of your "um actually " work and anything your actual playing. Anyway have a wonderful day.
My #1 question is: How much does a player need to know of the Cosmere or SA to enjoy the game? I have friends who have never read a word of Sanderson before, but might really enjoy this system and setting.
I might get flamed for this, but it seems a lot was borrowed from edge of the empire. Especially the opportunity and complication system. Not saying it’s a bad thing it was just a pain as a GM coming up with good/bad scenarios on the spot. Players love it tho
@@josephfernandez8015 AMEN! So tired of people being super weird about his religion. Quite a few of the best scifi/fantasy authors of all time come from that community. And since it's like a sub-sub-SUB class of Christianity, people feel that they can complain about it. But you never hear them bitching about Christian authors. I get it if their religion clearly effects their writing but, man, it just doesnt in this case. At least no more than any of his other life expereinces and if you don't like that a writers experience effect their writing well..... I just don't know what to tell you anymore, lol.
Shame you didn't go over the mechanics where you're required to "kill off" a PC within 6 sessions and make them sit there for weeks before revealing they weren't dead (which everyone knew). Or the rule that, as GM, you're only allowed to have one LGBT(definitely no QIA+) character, and when you introduce them you take a five-minute bow. Or where you're required to heavily reference a campaign you ran 10 years ago that no one present played in, and introduce a character who was an important NPC you really liked in that campaign and establish how much more powerful they are than the PCs and how much more they know that the PCs can't even imagine. Or how, any time a character has an important story beat you're meant to turn to the most depressed character and ask them to describe how much their life sucks for the rest of the session. Also, all campaigns are required to run for at least 900 sessions, with each session lasting at least 5 hours.
If you dont like the books you can just not read them, dog. Nobody is making you stay here. Be free. Go and find something you actually enjoy to spend your energies on! Itll be better for everyone that way. Especially for you, lol. No reason to waste your time being bitter in random comment sections like this.
They have gotten to all the RPG UA-camrs. The Oathpact has been formed
Money does that.
Unite them
Are they making an audio version of the rule books so that good Vorin men can play?
💯
Speechify. Pick the female voice lol

If there is an Adonalsium, let this be the first step toward an official D20 Cosmere campaign on Dropout. Say hello Brennan!
Stop, my heart can only take so much 🥺 I would genuinely die if that happened
Aaaah!
They would have my guaranteed sub if that ever happened. I can only imagine how amazing that would turn out.
Fuck would it be good. I can't imagine how incredibly emotional a stormlight game with the intrepid heroes would be.
Literally praying for this since the RPG was announced. I NEED Brennan's interpretation of this world!
Big brain move future proofing this by saying there's 5 Books four months before the release of said fifth installment
It's been known for several years now, that there will be a second stormlight-era with another 5 books

Future proofed except for that one guy who stumbles in in 2031, after the release of Stormlight 6.

Becca Scott and Cosmere feels like the peanut butter and banana sandwich of the tabletop world. I didn't expect it, but I'll never look back.

Thanks for the video. Playing in my first game this weekend. I like how you interspersed the tutorial with actual play examples
I cannot WAIT for this, I am the hugest Cosmer fanboy! I got my Closed Beta and loving what I am reading so far!
no, im huger
Might need to make a follow-up video with the Mistborn+full Cosmere expansion announcement 😅
How dare that DARK EYES try to intimidate the BRIGHTLORD
The Unkalaki have a different hierarchy
STORM YOU AND YOUR STUPID EYES
This is the system overview I was hoping to find. Thank you!
Awesome! I'm running a demo game on Saturday and this was an great help. Thank you!
Glad it helped!
Also I'm brand new to this channel but I'd love to see a full playthrough with y'all. It looks like so much fun when you play!
Always happy to see Gina and Omar!

Two of my greatest nerd loves, The Cosmere and Becca Scott, in one video? My heart isnt strong enough!
This is great, I’ve been looking for a game to buy instead of D&D 2024

I was very confused and could have sworn you said "...from Brotherwife games"
This sounds great!
Not complications, compli-tunities
shallan is telling me about an rpg she is in??
Dang I still need to finish rhythm of war XD
17:59 that’s how you spell “endeavors”, yes?
Seems pretty cool, but I wonder what kind of adventures the PCs will have.
Some players can move through canon Adventures created by Sanderson and Wells, while others are free to make their own.
I feel like my brain got raided.
Where's the 5 hour version of the playthrough video? Need more gameplay!

Becca Scott, you are like the Vanna White-super model of gaming. May you be blessed as you have blessed us all!
17:58 Endeavor is spelled incorrectly
oh omar :D
pretty good!
How did you make that background ?
Lots of cotton candy
At a guess, tons of cotton with bits painted or dyed stuck to a wall with controllable LED lights on it.
great work!
FUEGO! ohh wait...
Nice one
Please dropout do a d20 campaign with this!!
Becka is the game whisperer

You have rpg in the title twice
The algorithm eats first!
Wow this seems overtly complicated, trying to mesh a number of other systems into one.
Was intellect misspelled as a joke? I’m so triggered
Went overboard with the "Whoosh" and slide transitions. Looks like a Middle School project where they found those features in PowerPoint.
it took me 3 seconds to decide this isn't an actual person. It's a wax model. Like the golem of prague, animated with a word. Not 'truth', but 'sell'.
Of all the systems... D20 :(((( Ughhh D20 systems are atrocious.
Sounds like reskinned D&D 5e.
Brandon San Mormon, hard pass for me LOL
