@@creepypastadw5007 Yep. I've put almost 200hrs in the game already.
I don't understand why people say rap doesn't belong in cyberpunk. Like is rap extinct in the future? It takes place in America so they're going to have a mix of everything in it. As for the beat, I didn't like it at first but the more I listened, the more I found it to be weirdly unique.
I don't have anything against rap, i really like rtj myself, but og cyberpunk music is dark, fast, has deep, rolling drums and space tearing reeses. If you dig deep enough you'll find music that makes you feel like a cyber ninja running through a futuristic city in the night, made by artists that grew up and were inspired by greatest cyberpunk works ever made (regardless of the medium). I also think that futuristic music should sound technologically advanced. The track we're commenting right now doesn't sound like it was made on synth from future, it doesn't have surprising sounds. It's just good trap beat ans that's it. For me, personally, it does not sound like android arms and bright neons at all. Rap is cool and popular and everything, but just because some rapper is dressed up like a videogame character and has futuristic katana doesn't mean he's making cyberpunk music. Also most of the "cyberpunk" playlists on youtube are just some form of aggressive synthwave imo. But all of that is just my opinion and 2077 itself is aiming for more retro-future-wave whatever you call it thing so maybe that kind of music will fit it better, we'll see.
@@jarosawbrodowski1934 I can respect your opinion, and thanks for not being a jerk about it, saying it's just trash. Everybody has different taste and all. I can also see what you mean by it not sounding technologically advanced. The more I listen to it the more I think it sounds like good music from this era so I can agree with you on that.
@@jarosawbrodowski1934 rap is the only vocal genre that can really keep up with music you're describing..
@@jarosawbrodowski1934 I think what makes cp2077 stand out from the rest of the cyberpunk genre is how much focus is put into the portrayal of media, in which case a music video like this is pretty important. The first line in this song talks about swallowing drugs to numb the pain of cybernetic augmentation, followed by a judge dredd reference. It still remains dark, but on a much grounded level

For those of you wondering: El-P and Killer Mike are playing their alter egos, Yankee and the Brave respectively. It is a version of them that exists in Night City, where they still make music about the social injustice of the city they love.
The sound engineers took this methodology throughout their whole soundtrack. They asked artists to insert themselves into Night City and make music as if they actually lived in it, they made brand new songs that only exist in the world of Night City. That way, even the music would feel like a realistic part of the city.
It goes to show that nothing but raw talent is going into this game. From software design, to the acting, to the soundtrack, to the marketing. CDPR basically brought together the best minds they possible could to build this game. They have activist artists creating completely unique art solely for them. That's fucking crazy when you think about how much money and corporate politics goes into ruining games.
I love this. This is great.

@@MMaRsu Keanu Reeves exists in the world of Cyberpunk as a separate person from Johnny Silverhand. This will never age lol, it's a song from 2077 so i might still be listening to this in 2040.
Idc what all the youtubers and reviews say, this game slaps and so does the soundtrack

@@Heavy8963 for you, its okay people dont like some songs but it makes no sense arguing over something subjective, that would just be idiotic, but then again I dont expect much from someone who comments this song is trash under a random positive comment
"I used to pray to god but I think he took a vacation, cuz now the state of cali is run by these corporation. The skyscraper is shallow, the homeless the population..." Damn that line right there killed it, holy. That's Night city right there in one sentence.
Yeah I don't know why but that entire line was just killer.

Slaps harder than Phil Swift with Flex Tape.
Cyberpunk: We're going to delay again, we know this may cause many concerns...
Also Cyberpunk: 💃
worth it
@@zenothemeano4381 no
@@firstnamelastname9219 my god, are gamers so freaking petty they have to be upset that artists are taking their time with their art... Everything needs to be rushed these days...
@@zenothemeano4381 we don’t care that they’re delaying it, we care that they repeatedly do it. They should’ve said December from the start or just not announced the release date until they were 1000% sure. One delay is totally fine, two delays is okay, three delays is way too fucking much
@@zenothemeano4381 uhhh what? All I was saying was this song would not be worth the reason it was delayed but jesus christ what an amazing jump to conclusions you just did.

Gamers: we want cyberpunk 2077 !!!
CD projekt: Check out my mixtape son !!!
If they keep the quality somewhere near as high as we expect it to be, I have no issue waiting
Gamers: ... okay, this is both really good and you probably had a separate task group doing this, meaning that development wasn't slowed down. You get a pass.
They came out with amazing everything now except for the actual game
@@sherrychung2456 I believe cyberpunk will be a classic maybe even a masterpiece I like the fact that CD want everything to be butter smooth and create a “perfect” Game

So long as there's something of a guarantee that Cyberpunk 77 isn't going to be cancelled or some shit, I'm perfectly fine with the delays.
El-P has been in 2077, since 93’, this fit so well. And Mike is a monster on anything he touches.
“Alright partner, let’s grab the lizard and get the hell outta here.” So many memorable characters in this game man, I’m freaking out
This song has some wild lines for just being a video game soundtrack.
I LOVE THAT WE CAN STILL HEAR THIS EVEN IF THE COPYRIGHT MUSIC OPTION IS DISABLED
I just picture the montage with Jackie
The song was made for the game so that's why
0:03 me after every delay
Lmaoooooo
Unlike this comment once
Noooo it was close to da number
This game will suck why do you think they keep showing anything but the actual game because it's garbage these delays were nothing but marketing because it puts more eye balls on their product I'm not stupid I know how this shit works
@@CrowofYharnam they showed gameplay 2 years ago and it was amazing, and they’ve been updating this game since then to fit their standards so im positive the game is gonna be amazing if they took 7+ years to make
Whether you're reveling in the wake of your conquest, or you're crawling out of a compactor, hung over, and with some stiches where your kidney used to be, this seems like the perfect track.
A toast to my boys Johnny and Jackie.
Softly, gently. This is how my money will be taken.
you mean the whole 70 bucks for the game? wow yeah that really kills the wallet.
Leave nothing unchecked, there is much to be found in forgotten places such as couch cushions.
The cost of game copy - measured now in gold, later in blood.
Prodigious file size has no intrinsic merit, unless inordinate update length be considered a virtue.
I hate Cyberpunk 2077. A scammer lying company that lied to users!
Absolutely cannot tell why 6100 people disliked this video, like I actually can't, it's sick lol.
I disliked because they name drop Keanu Reeves & cyberpunk, the song won't make much sense if it was in the game
@@sgtluka exactly. The song isn’t made with atmosphere in mind, it’s made with money up front and the request of “make us a song for cyberpunk and make sure it gets people hyped FOR cyberpunk 2077. If they hear it and don’t know it’s for our game, it’s useless”
Pants pissers whining about the game not being out yet
@@sgtluka Actually its part of the lore. Keanu Reeves was a real person alive at the same time as Johnny Silverhand and everybody used to confuse the two. Im not making this up lmao.

You know, Run the Jewels already released a song called "2100," so by doing a song for Cyberpunk 2077, they're technically going backwards in time.
These guys are legends at the Afterlife.

why does cyberpunk have such a good soundtrack
“Keanu Reeves, cyber arm under my sleeve”.
Ikr literally worst line in the song. Nothing is gonna take me out of the game world like a song in it talking about the irl actor for one of the characters.
@@shiftyjim4138 actually, Keanu the actor is a part of the series lore.
In the game, he was a little known Collapse Era actor who bears a striking resemblance to Johnny Silverhand. so the lyric is a reference to that.
