- I FOUND PROPER YORKSHIRE FISH and CHIPS in Fuengirola! After trying to find proper English Fish and Chips in The Costa Del Sol and failing constantly can this Fish and Chip Shop in Fuengirola owned by a couple from Yorkshire prove that you can get descent fish and Chips in Spain.

Anyhow Mac I just wanted to say the best curried fish & Chips I have ever had were in Doncaster when I worked in Notts, the chippy was by the market in Doncaster Town centre, I believe it was called "The Quay side" maybe one of your subscribers could confirm this? Great Video I was the party of 3 that came in there after 6pm on that very day when they were closing. Gary the owner kindly carried on and served us, brilliant chippy.

Hey Lee, here's a happy medium. Some Yorkshire ex pat needs to set up a Tapa bar... proper chips done as bravas and small portions of battered cod bites fried in beef dripping. That would get the Brits AND the Spanish in!

Typical, when you southerners (you are to me) get together, you discuss the virtues of mushy peas, gravy and curry with your fish and chips. All you need is fish and chips, salt and vinegar and, maybe, tea, bread and butter. Remember, as a wise man once said “Go further north, young man - the fish and chips just get better!”
Nevertheless, what you got today looked wonderful. Best you’ve had in Spain.

Greetings from the USA where I sit jealously wishing I could get something remotely like that in this country of poor food (unless you’re prepared to pay a fortune).
The best advice my dad ever gave me was - never go to the chippy when they first open in the afternoon as they reheat the chips left over from the lunchtime opening! 😂😂😂

D'ya know I think there is a factory that produces "Phil and Janice" clones, name them differently and send them out all around the Med and Canaries.
Met dozens like that down the years. Top notch people, generally from the North of England (I'm in North Laandon as I speak, but can be found more often than not in Malta)....
"Phil and Janice" folk have to tick the following boxes :
-semi or fully retired.
-shop at Sports Direct
-have a "devil may care approach" to sun screen and the like.
-any time, any place, anywhere is "beer o'clock" (guilty of that one myself).
-"Phil" has a very understanding wife to his adventures in the bar
-frequent visitors to the same place.
All in all, salt of the earth types!

I think the law in most countries is that if it is a public space then it is perfectly legal and lawful.
But how do you react if someone realises they have been filmed and then objects? Possibly with anger.......As some folk do on You Tube (mostly in the USA) It's a moot point. 🤔

I was really looking forwards to P&J's Tapas too!!! 🤨 However, if second best was fish and chips of that calibre, I wouldn't be complaining at all, it looked really good. As a Lancastrian, it grinds my gears but they really do the best fish & chips in Yorkshire, that's the best F&C I've seen in a while. Another top vid with a great couple.
Very thoughtful to offer her your sausage with a protective cover, albeit batter...
PS - Tapas can be small pieces of deep fried fish in batter or bread crumbs and another tapas dish can be small roasted spuds... put them together and you have... (2 Tapas!)

Well, your video title was 100% correct, these fish and chips were certainly the best you've had on this whole trip, and dare I say on any trip outside the UK you've been on which I've seen. The chips weren't yellow like some others you've had and the fish was lovely and meaty and properly battered. The peas looked nice also as did the battered sausage though I haven't seen one that big in the UK before. I'm with the lady on the gravy, I love chippy gravy on chips, nothing wrong with that at all, then I grew up in Derbyshire too. If I had a gripe, it would be the peas in an unnecessary pot. Enjoyed the video and your guests were very nice.
