Like the video. I use Lightroom to manage organize and edit my photos. I do like Lightroom’s ability to batch edit photos. Adjust light balance exposure clarity reduce noise one one photo then paste all those changes to a batch. Very helpful in bad lite high school gyms.
Once again. Another clear and concise vid. Appreciate it. I was using Lightroom for culling and editing up until 7 months ago. I finally made the switch to Photo Mechanic and Camera Raw. I am currently exploring shortcuts to make my workflow faster. Please keep this going even after the season starts up again. BTW. Strawberry Ice Cream First. Thanks Billie.
Thanks for this video Billie... Im a Hobbyist shooting my local Club baseball in West Australia for the past 5 yrs and its good to know that the way i have been editing is similar to yours and I'm going the right way. You had some great tips in there which i went back and applied to some recent shots and they look way better... Many Thanks
Awesome, Mike! Glad to hear it was helpful. Appreciate you watching. Good luck shooting this year with the baseball club. Very cool to connect all the way to Australia!
I have been a photography hobbyist since birth but within the last four years I have branched out into convention photography and I've become quite familiar with Lightroom. I am pleased to see that you and I come from the same school of thought regarding not straying too far away from the center for edits. I do want to know what I may be missing for using Lightroom for my editing over Photoshop and you may have just answered that question for me. Thank you for a very simple and informative video!
Thank you for another great video, and yes I like PS but I only retouch the portraits of my models with PS. After using Capture NX 2 for years I had to change to another editing software so I started with Lightroom and it was ok for editing my sports photos (soccer and tennis). Now I've made a third change in editing software, I made a change to Capture One for Nikon and love it, love it more than working with Lightroom. What I don't like about Lightroom and Capture one is working the catalogs! For the rest, I like the way you show your workflow and how you like the colors to pop! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Love these kinds of videos. Keep it up! I shoot mostly football, almost always afternoon games so lots of sun & clouds. For that I shoot in RAW and use Photo Mechanic to cull and label the images before pulling them into Lightroom for basic batch processing, cropping, and individual tweaks. Works like a charm. The Camera Raw filter in Photoshop is 99% the same as the Lightroom editor. So if you know one you know the other.
do you still use PS over LR? I was a solid PS user and know it well but the new versions of LR are incredible and can't image editing and uploading an assignment without it
Thanks for the content - very informative. where do you put your photos before you drag them to PS . Just rewatched, its photo mechanic. When editing the thousand you shot in a game, do you download all of them ?
I try to delete most of the blatantly bad or unusable images in camera before I ingest. So usually per game, I end up ingesting about 1000 files, and finishing with a final edit of 50-75 images.
This is great! The cloud based LR appears to be very similar. Loving your method to get rid of the blues. I snapped a great pic of Xander from the photo well in Angel Stadium a few years ago, would love to send you the raw pic to see how you would edit.
@@billieweiss7681, Would you do a soccer photo from The Netherlands? Would love to see your vision on all the elements that the photo has to offer and we could compare our edits. I like the idea but I know you'll be very busy with the Red Sox when the season starts.........
Are you editing the same as the game goes on? Or do you only take this time for stuff you post later on? Great stuff! We've been missing this type of content on YT. Short videos but full of information. Keep them coming!
I am editing at the same time the game happens! I hope to make a video on it once games get back to normal again in the future. Glad you are enjoying them! More to come soon.
Just what I learned on and what I feel most comfortable with! Plus sometimes shooting for wire services they have actions/commands that are built for photoshop only.
@@billieweiss7681 make sense then. Although if you dont need those commands then LR will be always quicker then PS for a lot of photos. I thought you would use Photomecanic to cull in quickly a lot of photos. Really interesting to see MLB Photographer using Photoshop to edit photos. I looked at couple of your videos and apreciate sharing some knowledge. I shoot baseball too but we are more country of icehockey and soccer then baseball. My dream would be to shoot once one MLB game.
Who likes Photoshop? This guy!!!
I love the Dehaze tool
It's great. Definitely helps make those images "pop"

Totally! Lightroom is a great resource for batch editing and adjusting all of those elements. Just comes down to personal preference!
Let's goooooo. Big Bill!
Wow let's absolutely go.
Always producing videos that knock it out if the photographic ball park.
Thank you
Of course! Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the tips!
You're welcome, thanks for watching!
Love all this! This is definitely the time to work on the trade!
Now is the time! Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed it! I think the workflow in PM and Camera Raw is awesome. Check back for more soon. Strawberry, wow!

Solid stuff man.
Thanks dude! Trying this whole thing out hahaha.

Nice! They are all great solutions - glad you've found one you're happy with.
For your baseball photos are you typically shooting auto white balance or set it manually?
This may be the only case in baseball where 'down the middle' works out!!! Great tutorial!
Ha, I think you're right! Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
@@billieweiss7681 Now I'm ready for another one! What's next? LOL

Thanks Joe! Just what I learned on to be honest. Lightroom is also great!
Cool! Might have to mess around with it. One less step to worry about haha
Niceeee!
Thanks Myles!
Do you always shoot RAW every game?
Yes! Never know when we need to blow up the photos for advertisements, billboards, etc. Lots of storage, though.

Do you use Lightroom at all or mostly Photoshop?
Mostly photoshop, but that's just a personal preference. Lightroom is really great!
Sugoi, i want to work as your editor please hire me
Why don’t you crop in Camera RAW?
I don't have a great answer for you haha. Just how I prefer to do the workflow!
Very informative and I’m with you on all the edits but I have to be questioning your ice cream choice...
Thank you! And that's very fair. Haha!
How is your workflow and editing during a game?
I am shooting and editing to send to our team in real time as the game is happening! Hopefully a video in the future to show it!

Yankees Suck! Love the Sox and photography... Would do anything for your job. 1 day, 1 camera, 1 lens.... What do you go with?
Great question. Great idea for a video.
