Ouch! 16 seconds per layer 'Exposure Time' is brutal. Have EPAX send you a mono screen, get that down to around 2 or 3 seconds & chop that print time WAAAY DOWN! Awesome video though.
That really turned out nice! Very impressive diversity of techniques to get it done. The intro and outros were funny. 2 questions: 1) Ever used Rub N Buff for the weathering or details? 2)I think making out with the MK85 would be more in tune with your channel LOL.
Superb! I notice you using metal razor blades for detail work. I recently found out they make plastic razor blades so that you don't hurt you paint job. Found this out when researching how to get bumper stickers off cars without ruining the paint! Thought I'd pass it on.
just a slight critique the part of handle that's not gold like should be a dark green that is slightly close to black if u are trying to go show accurate but if not to each his own
I might have to give resin welding a try with my FDM prints! I haven't had great luck using super glue with PLA when dealing with smaller parts, where I want to retain details without making a mess with a soldering iron or epoxy, or having to wait a day for it to fully cure before painting.
This can be either or, but I noticed your a big DBZ fan and I was wondering if you could make a Vegeta armor or any Saiyan Armor for that matter. Or could you make Great Saiyaman’s Helmet cause that wewd be owesome.
Hey Frank. Enjoying your latest videos and hope you're settling in in America. How long after spraying did you apply the graphite rub? I know it needs to be tacky but roughly how long did you leave it? Thanks in advance.
@@FranklyBuilt oh dang yeah, thx for pointing that out, i didnt even notice that while watching. Though it seems like toys and other merchandise are going with the blueish blade. But that is really interesting
@@FranklyBuilt hey, thought i’d share with you a great reference point i found of her blade, in the new episode of Assembled on Disney+, at around 32 mins in, you could get a great reference on what the actual color of her blade is without all the filters and color correction. It’s like a lightly anodized blue steel
Should do more resin print videos, I'm interested in learning and I like the way you explain things and go into fine detail, it's very consumable. If you could mention price and type of filament/resin and what's best more often sprinkled in that would be perfect. Sounds to me that resin printers have better value in the sense you wouldn't need to do resin casts, basically skipping a step. The downside is I assume resin is more expensive than filament and the fact you'd have to buy tubs of isotropic alcohol is clean everything, whereas filament printers you wouldn't need to. What I want to know is the quality different between filament prints and resin prints, how strong they are compared to one another. I'd assume resins better but idk could be a future video hmm
Hey does anybody know how to slice a helmet file on cura? I use a CR-10s and when i load a helmet file or something large the file turns black because of a grey “keep out” area. How do I get rid of this?
@@jmproductions7152 well no the model isn’t too big, it fits fine on my printer, but cura has these gray areas surrounding the print bed so it won’t let me slice.
There's a free file on Thingiverse for a sanding block but since it's a bit bigger than that yellow detail sander you showed in the video, I laid it on it's side in Cura snd then reduced only the z height to 50% of the original (turned off uniform scaling)...and it makes it very similar in width (about 1" wide) as that yellow sanding block you showed. www.thingiverse.com/thing:4150161
I love when you do funny intros!! It makes my day!!
Frank, please that intro 😂😂😂🤌🏻
would you print a full medieval knight's armor?
DO IT WITH THE SWORD AND SHEATH
@@lunialation666 sheath
@@samanderson6079 thanks i have always sucked at spelling that

This was such a cool video! Thanks for the fantastic information given!
Hey im a beginner whit 3D printing i just bought a CR 10 im getting it tomorrow im so hyped thank you for the inspiration !
i’m a beginner too what printer should i get

Oh it won’t work on FDM prints lol
What are you using from primer after you sanded it?
Standard Rustoleum primer
Nice video frank 👍
Are you going to list all the specific paints and rubs you used?
Yep! Down below
I can’t wait for my printer to ship but when it ships In I will be at 3D printing camp so I am pumped
My graphite is the same as yours but for some reason mine comes out really dark. I don't understand why. I use a gloss black undercoat

hi wanted to ask how much resin did you need to use ??
When i take the Gravit powder (i have the same like you), the Things would like very very dark. Have you an idea what i doing wrong?
Got a like just for that intro! 😂
Can you make a Dilophosaurus mask?
It's been 7 months since you moved?? Wow
Could you 3d print the crucible from Doom Eternal.
Nice

@@FranklyBuilt very informative. Thank you. 😅
The finale set up the multiverse and the 2nd season so I thought it was pretty good
you can crome it know or copper plate it
Hello Frank is it possible to print this amazing sword on a ender 3?
Yep. Just cut it up
Somebody should make this with metal
hi bro, was wondering why didnt u go with the blue color it had on the show?
The show was weirdly lit. It was a blue green in some shots and silver in the finale

How can you make a less fragile blade out of resin?
Red guardian’s shield
I don’t understand you just paint the blade with gloss black paint and the graphite make it silver like a blade ?
Basically yeah

slightly tacky? what does that mean?

Can you do a video of you fusing a build together because I never quite understood the fusing process
I linked it and even mentioned it in this video lol 😂
Hey does anybody know how to slice a helmet file on cura? I use a CR-10s and when i load a helmet file or something large the file turns black because of a grey “keep out” area. How do I get rid of this?
The model turns black?
The model is probably too big. You can use a software like mesh mixer to cut it into smaller sections. You could also scale the helmet down
Frank has great videos on cutting large prints and also positioning them for good printing.

And if u do could u shout me out?

First?
I hate Resin printers, Resin is toxic.
I mean. You just keep them in a ventilated area lol 😆 not a reason to hate them. ABS plastic is toxic too
