You should go down the rabbit hole with John because he was one of the greatest 90s country artist with amazing songs
JMM is the original singer of the song I Swear. His brother is also a country music artist, Eddie Montgomery. He was 1/2 of the hit duo Montgomery Gentry til his duet partner was tragically killed in a helicopter crash. He now tours on his own. JMM has so many hits, Life's A Dance, Sold, Be My Baby Tonight, I Miss You A Little, just to name a few
John's son Walker is an country music singer too along with John's nephew Dillon Carmichael .

Can't forget one of his biggest hits, "The Grand County Auction".

For a completely different side of him, "Sold (The Grundy County Auction)" is a fun song and the video is a must as well. He also has a great song called "Life's A Dance." His biggest song was probably a love song called "I Swear" that one of the boy bands had a big hit with. I can't tell one boy band from the other, so I don't know which one.

Even the Bible says-not every man that says “Lord, Lord!” will enter into heaven. So much distorting and perverting of the Word of God these days. I struggled with “organized religion” for a long time. But the basics of Loving God our creator, following his commandments (which is things we know to do already mostly), believe Jesus is his Son and came to free us from separation from God, forgive others, show mercy, and love one another. It all gets twisted six ways from Sunday, as we say in the south. Lol. Bless you both.

I just wanted to put my two cents in here. Being from Wyoming I grew up on county. Everything from the 50s to the 90s. Quit listening after that because it wasn’t country anymore. That being said, I’m not Christian… and I hate these songs that make non-Christian’s out to be bad people. Most of us are very good people. We just don’t believe in fairytales. And, as adults, none of us should. That’s all I wanted to say.

Certainly has the proper voice for country Western. But for me, it has too much of a mirror lucky fact from Martina McBride's, Concrete Angel, especially with the attached video.

He's down to doing county fairs. That's where i saw him. Didn't seem to friendly as he didn't stay to meet the crowd. Mail McCoy on the other hand was down in the crowd meeting everyone.
I have to agree with Phil it doesn't matter where you put your faith, it only matters that you try to live a good and moral life. Country music is redolent with songs about thinking of others first, something our society should more readily embrace.

We became foster parents so we could take in my son’s friend who was abused. Then I got a call about a baby girl with this song as her story. She is 9 now and has brought so much joy to our family and we thank God for her every day. ( I got the call about her while I was at work and said yes. I didn’t tell my husband until I got home from work. He was in a pure panic! He was wrapped around her little finger as son as they handed her to him.)
JMM had a short, but very successful run as a solo artist. I think he decided to focus on his songwriting, and abruptly stopped his singing career.
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. This was my life for 14 yrs until the state got involved and I was laced in foster care and later was adopted when I was 16.
The first time I heard this, I was certain it was going to lead up to the poor baby dying. Boy it took a turn when loving people took her into their home.
