Incase you are wondering , Portuguese missionaries came to Goa and Mangalore and a lot of the Hindus converted to Christianity and adopted Portuguese surnames. Which is why its common for a lot of Indian Christians from these places to have Portuguese surnames like Fernandes , Dsouza , Pinto , etc etc.

India is so diverse we have every kind of surnames and people with different kind of facial features resembling Europeans, Asians and even Africans
Simple explanation 😂 lots of Portuguese (the OG Latinos) names in India (see history of Goa) but in her case she's Sri Lankan born (same Portuguese influence) and raised in the middle east + studied in US.

That's why regional cinemas are growing in India even in Foreign countries, South Indian movies is now top of that because of movies like RRR, Bahubali, Puspa and many more, and now I am happy that even Marathi cinema and Punjabi cinema will grow after their movies like Subhedar and Mastaney

the reason why they asked seema not to step on the lemon on the beach was not because it was garbage, but in hindu culture sometimes we are advised not to step on chillies, or lemons tied together cause they're believed to be cursed
What's interesting is that here in Europe in old traditions of witchcraft and folklore we also have a belief that something like a lemon or apple or onion can be used to absorb negative energy and then has to be discarded and if you find one you shouldn't touch it!

Catholics are all round the globe and they have their own surnames. Surnames are not religion specific. Only places which are run rown by foreign invaders ,kind of impose their own surnames when converting local populace via force or favours. Organic Christians world over have names more rooted in their own geographical region. Not dissing. Just stating facts.
