@@elderberrysnackshack6655 that's the point! "Are you scared of life?" is the question that you should answer to yourself. And that the answer Is "Hell no Im not!"
Watching this again in Dec, this Portland Open has to be some of the best Jomez coverage from the year. Laughs, tears, existential questions about facing life head-on. That's what disc golf is all about. ❤️
Best lead card round ever! Is there any Disc Golfer on the planet who is not rooting for Simon? How can you not be rooting for Simon? LET'S GO PEOPLE!😁😎
I'm so impressed with Simon recovering from that first shot on 1, playing under feature card pressure after a long rehab, and throwing at 80%. 80% Simon is good enough to claw it back against the world's best. And yes, that F9 video intro was amazing.
I love when I watch the front 9 early in the morning and then see that the back 9 was uploaded 15 minutes ago. Jomez is the best. So much dedication and commitment from these guys ❤️
I dont really get the "too low score" think like I dont care if they have -25 or +15 after 3 rounds for the winner. Its the score against the field that I see.
@@NaughtyPrincessfkhandles I totally get what you're saying, but here's another way to think about it: Imagine they were playing at a pitch and putt course that has a bunch of short, open, 300ft par 3's. There's a good chance that they'd all birdie nearly all of the holes and that it would be a tight race at the top with very low scores because although ace's aren't expected, birdies are abundant; this is of course a hyperbolic example, but it elucidates the concept of the problem at hand. Of course, courses where they all frequently birdie certainly can be harder than that, but extra low scores can be an indication that there isn't enough scoring separation overall when the field plays a hole. Excellent holes are ones reachable by the vast majority of the field, but that still produce a balanced variety of outcomes in terms of birdies, par's and bogeys. It's this separation that is necessary for a good course. That 1000ft par 4 at this course where only one person on the day can got a birdie, due to distance restrains alone, is arguably as much of a design issue as as having a 250ft open par three where only one person doesn't birdie it; the separation isn't there and therefore it can be inferred that the outcomes are too similar, stifling fair competition overall. I think that the original comment you responded to is somewhat frustrated, as am I, with the fact that too often now it seems the answer to the original problem of too many birdies on easier holes is to make them so long that only few can reach it, rather than it being that the hole is made more technical or difficult in terms of the shot/line.
@@Dusty1698 great breakdown of the issue at hand. I think if you look at this new course there are a few gems of holes, even one which had a perfect 33/33/33 birdie par bogey split. But also many holes where 75% or even more of the field just gets par, those are not good holes design wise.
This was a really entertaining round. The wind made all the difference in the course for us, the people watching, added risk to all the shots. great round of disc golf.
I must say, I don't remember whatching sports coverage and actually enjoying the commentators. But on jomez it's a reason to watch. You guys have a fantastic mix of sillyness and professionalism (meaning you rarely have to second guess your calls.. Unlike some other disc golf commentators). Thabks so much for the work you put in. It's always refreshing.
I really enjoy Big Sexy Berry commentary. These guys are great to watch on the course. Nothing like listening to someone you respect and like break down the play of others. These guys are legit, and are fans of the other players and the sport. Thanks for what you are doing.
The intro skit for round 2 was funny, it's great to see Simon back in the game, and watching Eagle crushing made my day. Thanks Jomez for this dreamcard coverage. My favorites are all here.
Loving the coverage. One thing I'd like to see, for those of us who are newer to the game and don't necessarily know what all of the discs are, is some way of displaying the disc name/flight numbers as they're being thrown (maybe only the first time each round/video) so we can get an idea of what's intended. (Ball-golf coverage does this sometimes; the display as the player's shooting will display name, score, distance, club.) I understand you may not always have that info available (you rely on the players to tell you what discs they threw), but I think it would help. Thanks again for all the hard work you put into this.
If you have some extra time a lot of players will film an "in-the-bag" video and upload it to UA-cam. So if you want to know what a particular person typically throws (because there's a lot of variety in plastics and molds and rare discs that the players throw that would likely be more work for Jomez than it's worth) it's worthwhile checking those videos out.
Thank you so much JomezPro! At 22 minutes I asked for a triple follow flight and like always you didn’t disappoint! A couple seconds later here it comes! 👌🏼
This round man! Excellent converse as always and great job with the live player mics! Glad to see my 4 picks taking lead card for the final round! Can’t wait till tomorrow’s coverage!
At the end of the B9 , it would be cool to see the players scores for the F9 and B9 together. To see it all. Thanks Jomez for amazing coverage as always !
Nate, people honking horns as people golf is a [ridiculously obnoxious] time-honored tradition. It means they hold you in the same esteem as ball golfers! Lol
Seeing those 4 names on the same card….. 🥰
The same! Its Christmas time! Haha
Saaaaame
Mcbeth, Ricky, Calvin, and eagle my fav card and in imo the top4 in the game
I wish I was there to see this 🤩
Yess sir 😩😭😭😂😊🥰🥰🥰🥰
Eagle backing into that bush needs to be a gif.
Somebody please make that!
It’s on disc golf subreddit
With text: "Are You Just Scared of Life?"
I want "are you afraid of life" as a gif or T-Shirt.
bruh
"Are you just scared of life?"
I didn't think so but now that you asked.
That comment is all of us.
We need Eagle “Are you scared of life?” Shirt ASAP.
So are we clear it the best quote of the year right
I kinda want it to read "don't be scared of life"
It rivals: why are trees
It should be printed on that shirt he's been wearing 🔥🔥🔥

OMG! LMAO "Are you scared of life?" as relatable as "Why are trees?" Jomez, great mic pick.
This was probably one of the best lead cards I have watched this year.
Yeah and the next one's also amazing
@@1totemic not a huge fan of KJ but itl be an entertaining one for sure
Simon playing "conservative" AND having fun out there, fantastic to watch - and tour beware.
The slo-mo of Eagle falling into the bush during the Founder's Club list is amazing.
They jinxed this wind in the practice round "could you imagine playing here in the wind?"😅😅
Uli should only use his magical powers for good in the future.
I wouldnt play here if you paid me. My average bomb shot is like 375ft
Yet somehow course records were still being thrown 🤯

I like how mad Simon gets with shots that are good “so lucky”. It’s great having him back on coverage .
So good to see Simon back on Jomez.
Without the error on 1 Simon could have the lead, he played an amazing round! Can’t wait for the next round, it’s gonna be a great battle.
1. Amazing to see Simon back. He’s the best shot shaper on tour imo.
2. Eagle on the mic is LEVELING UP this dude is hilarious
I'd rather not hear Eagle's immature tantrums, to be honest.
