I missed that room along with a lot of others. Sometimes when I'm making my rounds the rooms are full and I can't get in, so you keep going with intentions of getting back but there never seems to be enough time.

I think the KEF are great. The better implementation of the UniQ driver setup os really good at getting a very good midrange to treble response. That's why the LS50's are rated so highly. Then with the Reference they ad the bass drivers to add the bottom end and this fills out the overall sound.
I don't think the AXPONA room did these speakers justice. They needed to have better room placement and get some power behind them to let them really sing!
