Homefront is set in a dystopic United States, in the year 2027. The game's backstory dates back to the 2010s, where there are high tensions between North Korea and the global powers due to the country's military aggression, including its successful nuclear weapons test and the sinking of a South Korean ship.
As always we used relevant gameplay, important dialogue and all cutscenes to stitch together a fluid cinematic experience. We hope you enjoy!

@@mattmangold1322 It was back when Kim Jong Un was this huge unknown and people thought that he'd do things to make North Korea great and stir the pot or something. Well, I suppose there was that detente talk a while back, but that's really the only meaningful thing that's happened under his rule. Everything else turned out to be the same as his father, just _more so,_ it seems. All I know is that it's from a half-remembered _Game Informer_ feature.
I thought it was possible thought at the time I didn't know so much about North Korea or about the Kim's.

They should have sticked with this storyline rather than the one in Homefront Revolution.

In-game they simply used captured American equipment from fallen bases, and are fully trained on them having learnt from former South Korea
Fun fact for those curious, but at the time of release for the game, no one actually knew what Kim jong un looked like, which is why the actor looks so different from real life. Western media didn't get a look at him until his became leader of the dprk, as his father kept him out of television events to shield his identity

This game could’ve been set in an alternate 1990s where the USSR didn’t collapse but aren’t in the mood of self militarizing. As perestroika and the new union treaty, in which certain Soviet republics want to stay in the new USSR while the other republics want independence from the USSR are the major priorities of the USSR. But it doesn’t mean selling Soviet factory made weapons to North Korea is off the table. In fact, the USSR have certain members of the Kremlin wanting middle men and bratva types to sell their weapons in conflict zones across the world. In order to improve the economic situation of the country. That in the Korean Peninsula, tensions between North and South Korea are very high up. Especially in the DMZ. That North Korea decides to strike Seoul first and rapidly before the US military forces come to the peninsula and decide to war into their home. And those who survived the wrath and occupation by the North Korean army regime are trying to survive the war atrocities. And even South Korean resistance forces are trying to fight hard against the more militarized North Korea.

This game was sooooo fucking good. The storyline was so amazing. My favorite part was the baseball field when he starts saying you mother fuckers! Then starts blasting. This game really made you sympathize with the characters and really feel their emotions. They don’t make games like this anymore. It’s definitely top 5 of my favorite games of all time.
