Yay! Thank you for this, I definitely am feeling a bit more confident about blending. It's just paint, Lines, Schmines! I thought sitting in your bed and making a video would work just fine. I hope it was relaxing for you, you deserve it!
The camera was shaking like crazy, because I had it attached to my cushioned Erin Condren lap desk 🥴. It’s definitely not as relaxing as just painting for myself, because I have to be so conscientious of where I hold my palette and all, but at least it helps everyone feel more comfortable in their blending {I hope!}. ☺️
Ohhh, you got this!! This technique is perfect for that also. I wish I thought to say that in the video…that it is great for blending soft water 🤦🏻♀️. I’d love to see your work on the FB group once you finish. ☺️
Totally awesome video, Melanie! Great refresher for someone like me to refer back to and fabulous for painters starting to make that leap into blending. And, of course, thank you for giving me the gentle shove I needed when I started blending!! Those are perfect colours that melt seamlessly into each other and are so beautiful. I got excited at the beginning of the video and you said you were blending the sky in that image as it sure will make the focal foreground to pop! And how to make that image "yours" by adding a different paint style to it. You are the bomb, girl!! Sure hope we get to see that painting in its entirety!! So appreciate you, your creativity and your hard work ❤
Thank you so much for these words of encouragement & praise 🥰❤️. I need to get back to technique and tutorial videos more, because I really enjoy them…and if they help others feel more “empowered” to “just do it”, then I definitely think it’s worth it!
How will i know if we needs blending? Does it say in the instruction when to blend? Sorry for asking stupid question .. stiil waiting for my pbn frô’ figured art to arrive.. thanks
Hi, I just found your video.. I have done several pbn's but never did the blending..Now I have a portrait of my dog and mye.. So do I blend every section when dry.. or wait til all done and blend.... portrait sure does have small areas, so I do that process. I put clear gesso over the portrait and waited 24 hours. the kit is called Everything Personalize ...thanks
Melanie, you have done more for PBN’s that anyone else on UA-cam. I can’t thank you enough!
Thank you so much for those kind and thoughtful words! 🥰❤️ Knowing I can help others with this hobby makes me so happy!!

You are so welcome! I definitely believe anyone can do this with a little faith & confidence in themselves. ☺️
You are the best. I have learned so much from you in PBN.

OMG. I cannot get enough of your blending videos. I need to blend layers of water in a bay. I’m not so skittish now!

Very helpful. I have a reflection sunset on the sea to do. Perhaps you could do a video on that.
