I hope the ten does come back but im gonna say this they made an artificial scarcity in shoes which kinda came back to bite them because now people are only looking for this limited factor. For them to bring them back shows that they hear us the fans asking them for this and i love it thanks nike
Re-issuing and/or mass producing grails can pretty much kill both the resell and the replica markets, two of the main threats for Nike’s interests. They are willing to sacrifice part of their legacy by removing scarcity out of the table, in exchange of securing immediate revenue to turn those numbers up the charts.
I like the idea of re-issuing off-white collection and other grails again so the younger heads get to cop and wear them. The original pairs have production dates to retain their value if collectors care for them.
No one is going to be affected negatively by them releasing these rare sample shoes other than resellers and rep makers. Some consumers will finally get their hands on shoes they’ve wanted and Nike gets to make more money off of a old design.
I disagree with all of the cons personally. I'm actually surprised to hear you say the stuff you did. It is such a big gatekeep To try and keep any sneaker Limited. I'm a sneakerhead not a collector. I think we should stop saying collector, it's cheese. This shoe is not the Mona Lisa I'm sorry, it's just a sneaker. Shoes are not art. We're supposed to wear them, beat the shit out of them Etc. And I don't think people just go after collabs because they're limited. People go after collabs because they're nice, have better materials, they have the materials that every sneaker should have. 220 for a Jordan you should get premium leather, premium suede Etc, like you get for the average new balance. The only reason I got a Jordan in recent years is because it was AMM and they pushed for high-end materials, and you actually get more of your money's worth. But it's just my opinion, it's Sad to see people like Welty say what he said too cuz that is my guy.
No complaints here about reissuing classics. Truth is, NIKE didn't make any of those sneakers expensive, consumers did 😅. Nothing wrong at all with NIKE igniting the sneaker market again. Also, it's a whole new generation of sneaker lovers, so why not? It's their own sneaker brand, not someone elses
This is why I like the reimagined shoes. Allows some of us who started collecting later a chance at copping retail but has differences that are easy to see so the originals retain their value.
Next thing they will do is retro dunk sb collabs from the pink box era. Tiffany lows anyone? Alot of those shoes are starting to fall apart, like the swoosh on the Tiffany's on the lows.
Please release the Wu-Tang & the 4s in massive GR numbers. I don't care about them being rare I want a pair cause I like the Creps. Sorry I don't care about collectors feelings, it's compete bullshit that there that much money anyway. I'm 51 I was there when Wu-Tang dropped I'd buy them in a heart beat. I want to see them on shelves in JD if possible. I only liked crep collectors when it was underground, now they all seem to be worried about the resale. Not all of them but alot of them. I was gunna buy some Pollen but if I can get the WuTangs it's a no brainer. I hate the way HIP HOP Culture has been split up & bits of it turned into money making schemes for ppl that don't understand it & don't really care about it. It's my life & I'm passionate about it. Infact I think Nike should give first chance to ppl over 48 to get them, only joking but yeah GR these joints! 💯

As a sneaker “collector” I don’t care if it’s a collab or GR, I buy whatever I like. Release the shoes. For everyone

Nike is destroying the resell market and itself with retroing collabs.

Can’t beat the old heads being able to get the stuff they seen as a kid. ❤
I’m freaking love it
I don’t really mind, hell, i even like it when they redo some of those grails that are otherwise unobtainable.
I definitely like these conversational type of videos please continue
I was hyped as hell when the Air Max 90 bacon was rereleased back in 2021
