Josh, Thank you so much for a clear explanation. I am doing a study in Genesis 3 and needed some insight about verse 21 to explain the foreshadowing of how the garments of skin played into redemption, reconciliation, and propitiation.

Almost a good example, but falls short. Problem--girl offended law not the judge (sin personally offends God); fine couldv'e been paid by the girl (we can't pay the price of our offense). this example lacks demonstrating the personal offense towards God and the hopelessness we have in trying to make the payment ourselves. Jesus: he absorbed God's personal wrath towards us and redeemed us with a price we couldn't pay. thank you Lord for your mercy and that great plan!

Do you have any good biblical verses for propitiation? I have to write a research paper on propitiation and I need lots of verses from both new and old testament. Got any good ones?

      Romans 3:25
God presented him as an atoning sacrifice in his blood, received through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God passed over the sins previously committed.

It would be better if the daughter said 'No dad, it's my punishment to take.' The requirement to the law is still met.

The judge should have recused himself, therefore he was not a just judge. Being the judge over a kangaroo court and not bothering to avoid the appearance of a conflict of interest...isn't even lawful by non christian standards

1/. According to the Tanakh aka Old Testament, no man can die for another man's sins.
2/. Human sacrifices were banned, again according to the Tanakh/Torah.
3/. Blood was rarely required for forgiveness of sin. Read about it in Torah.
4/. Any sacrifice could NOT be marred in any way, so this disqualifies Jesus.
5/. The sacrifice had to be done at the temple, yet Jesus was outside Jerusalem on a pagan cross?
6/. Jesus came to bring a sword and divide families, yet TMH said He will turn the children's hearts back to their fathers.
7/. Jesus kept breaking Torah, including Sabbath keeping, speaking back to his parents when 12 yo, whipped people, hid truth from those seeking it (by speaking in riddles not plain as the Tanakh says to),
claimed to be equal with his so-called father...which is blasphemy, encouraged others to break Sabbath, did not follow Torah with the adulterous woman incident, yet claimed to be obedient in everything. Claimed to forgive sin, which only TMH can do, according to the Tanakh. Stated no one can be 'saved', except through him??!! How about all those poor people who lived before this Jesus?
8/. He couldn't be the Paschal lamb (as stated in John) as he was not a one year old lamb, he was disfigured and it had to be perfect, the whole Pashal event was NOT about sin anyway, the remaining lamb had to be burnt the next morning, no man can die for another man's sins anyway.
9/. The prophesies attributed that Jesus fulfilled do not apply to him or his time when read in context of the original passage. Ie Isaiah 7.
Just a few things to consider, my friend.

Jesus knew he was one of the Father’s gift of salvation to the people - to the world - NOT - as the Jews supposed and taught down the centuries - salvation from the punishment meted out by the wrath of God - BUT - to save us from the daily repetition of the same mistakes in wrong thinking - wrong thinking which created our misfortunes, poverty, sickness and misery.
But because Jesus Loved the human race so deeply, he was prepared to teach and heal in defiance of the Jewish Priests. Jesus was prepared to die on the cross for what he had truly "seen" in the desert, knew with all his heart, and wanted to share to the last drop of his ability to do so.
THIS IS THE TRUTH BEHIND JESUS' CRUCIFIXION AND ALL THE REST WE'VE HEARD IS MAN-MADE CONJECTURE ARISING OUT OF THE JEWISH PRACTICE OF BURNT OFFERINGS IN THE TEMPLE.
Jesus was a gift from the Father to humankind to help us surmount our ignorance of the Laws of Existence, and find the true Path of Life leading to the joy, abundance and perfect wholeness of the Kingdom of Heaven.
These were the perceptions, the desires, the intentions and goals and the thoughts which Jesus bore within his mind and heart. This was the earthly mental-emotional framework clothing Jesus' spiritual consciousness hidden within the head and figure of him.
