    WOW..... The day has finally come!! FYI - Most if NOT all of the credit is owed to the tireless work of those during the re-solicitation and with the DB2 contractor afterward AND who are NO longer working on the PL program for the PMO because they were cast aside by the poor decisions of multiple TSO & MTA Pinheads who either acted alone or were directed to by the Governor's Office to remove those staff, to Mark the territory on behalf of the new administration. You know who you are and should be recognized!!👍💪🤜 Thank you for being so dedicated to doing a GREAT job!😊

    There's something uniquely funny about transporting a railcar by truck across an interstate highway.

      0:33 - Yes it is sad that new rail-vehicles are delivered by road-truck, and not over the railways.
      There are rules for things running on the railroad -- new and untested.

    Not sure if questions are answered here or not but is there any plans between now and 2027 when the line opens for people to be able to explore these light rail vehicles? Like a day where people can come and see the inside and get a feel of what they're like in person.

    Make sure these “new” cars are actually upgraded and have LCD (NOT LED) screens and digital wayfinding before you put them into service.
    I guarantee these things were designed and built in the 2010s. Imagine how out of date they’ll be by 2027.

      It’s not the state of Vermont, it’s in the state of Maryland, where it will be built to connect many Washington DC metro lines in the suburbs, as its metro is very radial and it desperately needs a East-West connector line in the north or a loop line in general.

      Most likely cheaper and less wear-and-tear than shipping by rail plus you’re assuming railroad tracks are readily accessible at the pick-up and delivery point.

    • @illhaveawtrplz
      @illhaveawtrplz Місяць тому +2

      @@claytonbrown7100 Right, we don't have a robust manufacturing sector built around rail anymore, so it's likely that the company that won the bid to build the stock just didn't have a viable rail connection to the delivery site. It's a chicken and egg problem, but you have to get more trains out there to get the economy of scale working in their favor again.

    Yay! My tax money 💰 🤑 💸 at work! _Way-way_ over budget (estimated final cost of *_10 billion, 4.4 billion_* over the original estimated cost of 5.6 billion dollars) and _way-way_ behind schedule (was _supposed_ to open in *2022* 😮)! Hooray! Now we just need to be patient and wait until (hopefully) winter time in 2027 for it to start opening up! Woo-hoo! Plus we got a new nice and shiny rail car! Wow! Now we just have to wait for the rails to put it on! Talk about Progress!

      It's Hogan's fault that this happened, not some inherent and mysterious flaw with public transport and government projects. He and his team let the contract with the construction company lapse knowing full well that it would cost more in the long run. I liked some things he did as governor but he really, really botched this one and left the taxpayers holding the bag.
