The SEC needs to force data centers to be more transparent about their environmental impact. All of their reporting is disorganized and this video does great job consolidating it!
Thanks for pointing out that most data centers require huge amounts of water for cooling. Here’s so many data centers that need to improve on water for their sustainability model.
So while data centers continue to use huge amounts of water, that's water that is out of circulation for farmers. I think I'd rather the farmers get the water to grow food, then facebook. The amount of water that Data centers use is rarely in the news, this is a big deal and more people need to know.
I tend to disagree. Folding@home and BOINC are much more power efficient than any datacenter, even up to 3 times. Datacenters produce a lot of heat that is hardly if ever reused, than add extra power for cooling, losses in ups and much more. Distributed computing is the only ecological alternative, clearly because it heats up buildings and can use power of locally installed photovoltaic panels.

Totally agree, we need more information on water sustainability.
Excellent video.
Thank you for making such a cool video.
This video proves that technology has an environmental friendly future
So if we invest based on sustainability... we buy CyrusOne and Switch?
Good observation. But there should be more to your criteria too! Take a look at Equinix (NASDAQ:EQIX) as well.

So can we buy stocks in these companies?
Yes, you can. The companies and tickers are: Equinix = NASDAQ:EQIX, Digital Realty = NYSE:DLR, CyrusOne = NASDAQ:CONE, CoreSite = NYSE:COR, QTS Realty Trust = NYSE:QTS, Switch Inc = NYSE: SWCH
Could you do a video on UPS systems for Data Centres and how much backup power is needed? Thanks!
Wouldn't an all flash data center be the future?

Student of ismt college 😅😅😅 here from managing a successful computing project
maybe this is why we have draught and climate change
Maybe this is why sea creatures are dying
Maybe this is why whales beach themselves
