The BEST Scene in Across the Spider-Verse

- If you know me well enough, you know how I've gone on record saying that Across the Spider-Verse was a life changing experience, due in large part to the character of Gwen Stacy, and how she reflects a lot of my own personal experiences. Today I wanted to dedicate a video to her and to what I consider to be the best scene in the movie, talking about the events that lead up to that scene along the way. Also, when captain Stacy finally focuses on his daughter it's the only time they clearly really share the same color palette.( 11:50 )
Really put that metro song into perspective of wanting to go home. Cause miles who was being stopped from going home to save his dad then being trapped in the wrong universe. And the same here for Gwen where like you said she feels like she doesn’t have a home to belong.
This the only time my brain will think this deep now

I relate to this scene a lot because I wanna unleash my self and express how I feel like Gwen but my parents aren't accepting and always tell me to stop every time I try to do that :(

Anyways the scene with Gwen and her dad at the end really hit home for me. Mostly because of her dad’s line “You’re the best thing ever done”. My dad used to say that to me all the time and hearing Gwen’s dad say it really brought back some memories. Best character and she’s so relatable. Also great analysis.
Not as significant story wise, but another moment where she "snaps", is when she yells at Miles for messing with her watch buttons. She even says, "sorry.....didn't mean to...uhhh, snap.."
I want to live in Gwen's universe. Its one of the most beautiful works of art I've ever seen. It moves me more than any work of art I've ever seen.
I wouldn't want people to always know what I'm feeling. It does look neat but yeah that invasion of privacy is a turn off. Though I wonder if the characters in-universe even know or see the emotional auras.

I'm glad I found this video, man, because I share a lot of your sentiment to why I also really love Gwen Stacy's characterization in these films -- I also went back to theaters pretty much every week to watch it again!
I also love your message about finding a piece of media and holding onto it. For the longest time I didn't really understand how that felt. I had plenty of friends who loved certain pieces of media (Avatar: The Last Air Bender is one that comes to mind); I didn't get a similar feeling until both Arcane and the Spider-Verse films came out.
Jinx from Arcane and Gwen from Spider-Verse are my absolute favorite characters of all time and I absolutely love it when I find others that share those sentiments!
Did not expect this movie to be a two part.
This guy gets it much better than a "professional" on UA-cam who made a video in which Miles had seemingly nothing to do with Gwen's psychological growth and her decision making.

In this film we see Gwen and Miguel snap. The interesting thing that's going to happen in Beyond...We're going to see not one but Two Miles's snap. When they do it's going to be heartbreaking and really really dark given they're NOT Heroes they're Anti-Heroes or even Anti-Villains.
