The ult is definitely for entering a site. Even if Iso dies, the site anchor will disappear for long enough to take the site and when he reappears he is an easy target.
Thats actually really smart. You can just take away one of the enemy for like 15 seconds so your team can enter site easily

I think out of all the agents in the game, his usefulness relies the heaviest on the skill of the player.

To me he seems to be made specifically to shut down operators. His shield let’s you get close to the op without much danger giving you the advantage, and his ult is harder for ops than vandals

His kit isn't supposed to be broken, he's an assassin. A part of being an assassin is that you kill enemies 1 by one without getting kill/noticed yourself. His double tap perfected demonstraights that as its not like reyna where you can instantly pop the dismiss or heal but instead you have to hit the orb which signifies its better for issolating 1v1's (hence his name iso). His wall is the only "real" piece of ultility that actually helps your TEAM get onto site and his Q ability is an ability that can be used before a fight to increase the odds of him winning that duel hence a duelist. His ult is basically the definition of a 1v1 as it puts you in a situation where neither player can be traded. He isn't a agressive duelist and is more passive, trying isolate 1v1's as much as possible.

In a 1v2, you might think his ult will be useful for seperating fights. But if you know where Iso ults from the other teammate can just wait for him to pop out. Even if Iso instantly equips weapon, its still hard
But on the other hand, your ult has a very large area of action, which can negate this weakness, so you kill the enemy quickly or they don't know exactly where you are

Yeah you can't clutch a round with his ult if you're attacking unless it's 1v1 cause that's just valuable time you get completely taken off the map while they know they're safe to stick defuse

Iso isn't overpowered. To me it seems like Riot is trying to focus a little more on the casual side of their game with this addition. He's just a fun agent for casual players, not that good in pro play but going to be a little fun for us casuals. Think that's why they gave him such a drastically different type of kit than what we've seen anywhere before; the damn domain expansion is crazy
Can't wait to see the shitshow that is PRX picking Iso, would actually be insane and fun to watch.
He is more like a supportive duelist agent and he can shine in a co-ordinated play.

Very useful video, the explanation on Iso's kit helps us to understand that he is quite balanced and can be a decent pick in ranked...I agree with you and I see you've done a lot of research, great video👍

He is more fitting as a "Support" type neither duelist type nor sentinel, initiator, controller. He is good if you peek and take gunfights after he used his abilities.
Vulnerable effect is underrated and changes many breakpoints. Going for bodyshots is ten times easier, and while it doesnt look cool, i dont think anyone will care if you drop 30 kills with bodyshots. For starters, you can 2 tap with a phantom or vandal to the body. Then, weapons like judge, bucky or odin become lethal at long ranges while being way faster. And the breakpoints: sheriff 1 bodyshot to no armor, guardian 1 bodyshot to light shields, marshal dealing more damage than an OP, ghost 3 tapping the body to full shields, bulldog ADS killing anyone with 1 burst etc. Also the damaging utility combined with this
His wall will be hard to use, but those who get good at it will have a powerful tool on them
Finally, as for double tap, you have it in your ult. Cant you just shoot the orb that spawns in ISO's ult after you win the duel to get a free double tap shield? Why isnt anyone doing that? Then, NO ONE is going to be playing stingers against you, so the 40 damage or the one tap the shield protects you from is insane, and you will probably have this ability active all the time because you have 2 charges.
His ult can just remove anyone from the map. Annoying killjoy with a shotgun locking down B? Ult her. Ulting raze/jett/neon? Ult them and they are left with nothing. And with the selectivity that you can get, you will probably often use this ult against people using OP's or shotguns to bring them into a fight they will likely lose. If you have a vandal, someone with a bucky on that other end will not be able to kill you. And anyone using an OP will have to land a really quick shot. If they dont, they die due to a miss or due to not shooting fast enough.

It’s either every new agent is overrated or underrated. Agents like Deadlock and Yoru were viewed as overpowered on release while agents like Jett, Neon and Chamber were viewed as underpowered. We know which turned out to be which.
@@kreapys8096Chamber and Neon were viewed as overpowered on release (Chamber came after people kept complaining about Operator Jett so everyone knew he was OP, and everyone thought Neon rewarded spray and pray) but Jett is the perfect example of people thinking an agent is underpowered on release.
I say he is the most BALANCED agent because none of his abilities are too overpowered nor underpowered and you do need a lot of skill to master him or even play him well because his ULT and Double Tap need kills to be any good. Double T can be activated with assists but his ult would be waste if you can't aim or just miss.Unlike other ult which cause people to be harshly debuffed or even be scared and panic.
So basically, the definition of a mediocre of agent so neither JETT nor PHOENIX (no harm to phoenix mains but he isn't the best)
I have a feeling Iso will be a great second duelist pick. His whole kit is balanced pretty well, a very personal skill reliable agent, the use of the C and Q abilities is kinda hard to use on his own so combo with another aggressive duelist like jett or reyna is a very great idea, his E is kinda 50/50 tbh. Like yeah its good in some senarios like tanking a raze ult or op shot but if the enemy is good then they can just bursting down Iso through the shield and kill him with a phantom or vandal. His ultimate is a unique ult, it can be good on many situations but also can be a dumb move on somes, I realized that a lot of the play test just miss out the orb in his ult, don't do that guys, if you win in the ult remember to shoot it, it basically bringing a free shield to the real world. He shouldn't be the only duelist on a match since he's not capable of aggressive entry, he feels more like a supportive type of duelist.
Overall decent agent, not game breaking but not shitty, definitely will try him when he's out
i honestly think hes just a fun charcater to play. he doesn't provide much value to the team compared to other duelists which is a shame casue we've been waiting for something to counteract the raze/jett meta for awhile. his orb ability compared to reynas dismiss/heal overall has more cons and less pros, his wall doesn't really help his team entry especially because its not that big. and his vulnerable thingies don't have much use other than wallbang potential.
2:55 the way I interpreted this was specifically if there is an Iso on each team, they’d be able to interact with each other by basically stealing their orbs instead of anyone shooting it to nullify the orb, which I’d find kinda funny and interesting if this is the case. Notice how the riot dev phrased his explanation and context-he said if Sadhaak (the enemy iso) gets an orb, Derke can shoot it before he does. He doesn’t mention anything about the team shooting it or cancelling the orb gain in general

@@abhiramyanamandra9403 for attacking his vulnerable would be kinda sucks, since it doesnt do any control effect,just makes them easier to kill with weaker weapon/body shot. I believe his play would be wall up to isolate fight, and shoot his fragile to corner where enemy would be. But it's good for defending since you just need to aim it at choke point
But generally unless you want to take a risk, if you're in unfair situation you'd just fall back.
From watching other people gameplay, it's a lot more balanced than it reads on paper. It's also a nice mix of team based and aim based utility
The undercut will combo with the specter really well, considering that is one of easier guns to be consistent.
I was thinking about that too. Instead using only classic on eco round, just use stinger/spectre and do the Undercut combo with run and gun playstyle. Maybe spectre meta on anti-eco round is back?
Imo I don’t think he’s a terrible agent. He’s more like a 2nd coming of reyna to me since both of them require kills to activate one of their abilities (e.g. double tap and reynas heal and dismiss except u hv to shoot orb in order to become bulletproof for Iso) If he has a flash I think he would’ve been more viable but I’d put him in a B tier. This does not mean that he’s going to be replaced but let’s see how he performs in the current meta and pro scene.

Nice video. This seems to be in line with what Boaster was saying in his video on Iso so probably going to be true. I'm still very interested to try him out - I used to like playing Harbour as a quasi-dualist (which ended up not working out well) specifically because of his High Tide and just being able to push onto site with it. But then people would just spam through it once they got used to the agent lol. So this seems like I'd actually be able to play Iso the way I wanted to play Harbour. Also being able to make the Phantom not suck with his vulnerable ability would be amazing.
I think it would be sick where while in your ult, after you get the kill, the orb that spawns over head acts also like a teleport. So if you dont shoot it you go back to where you cast the ult, but if you do shoot it you go to where you caught the person with a single hit of immunity.
Oh yeah, so the enemy team can camp where his teammate disappeared and kill ISO

I think he’s overrated people are like OH HES SO BROKEN in actuality he’s not his wall is his only entry util his undercut is just a duelist engaging tool and his shield is cool but pretty bad he has no movement or any way to get out of a fight. And his ult requires skill its not something you can use and get a guaranteed kill with i mean you can make some plays like ult the last enemy remaining so your teammate has time to defuse while hes in the other dimension
Also, if you are a Agent that has ability to get to height, especially in places where the enemy really needs to use ISO wall, you are ultimately at an advantage. Check out 3:54

One thing that is also pretty good about the ult is the 1v1 clutch situation. You wait for the defuse and then you use the ult to take more time post plant.
I don't think he is overpowered at all but I would say he is a nice support duellist if u already have a jett or raze in your team
But i will for sure try him out and play him i like his playstyle from what I've seen

I think Iso will be great in low to mid elo since you don’t have a headmagnet but in higher elo and pro play he will be mid since his wall will be good his vulnerable useless his shield mid and his ult very good

Duelists need flash,stun,rush speed/tp, but he doesn't have any of those.
Shield abelity is not for 1v2 fights,so it's bad.
Ult is bad,it just for a 1v1 fight. People will camp for you after 1v1 ends.
Vulnerability range is short,it is good if we work with teammates damage abelities.(same as viper and raze combo)
Overall he is nothing infront of other duelists like phnx,neon,rayna,raze,yoru and most of agents with flash abelity.
I think they will nerf the double tap so the timer is shorter like 7 seconds (keeping in line with stuff like jetts dash) as to not make it too difficult for the lower elo to shoot it but make it difficult enough that it isn't easy to do it, I also think that if you get a kill after you get 1 then the first kill ball should disappear (if this isn't already a thing), but in the end his timers are definitely getting nerfed.
100 smt days later and he just got buffed, I actually love him in diamond acsedent elo because i out aim everybody and hes just a rlly fun agent to play

Deadlock isn't as agressive. In high level play i certainly agree that hes nothing special and kinda bad, but think about low level lobbies. A smurf with better aim than the whole lobby can get such an easy ace bc even if his enemy gets off a lucky shot before they die its useless.. hes going to make the game worse to play overall, hes not GOOD for competive and hes a nightmare for low elo

His ult will be busted in 1v1s when bomb is down, just like deadlock, its just a free win, cause you just have get them in it, even if you lose the 1v1 they will have no time to defuse.
He feels more of like a second duelist/initiator type of agent. Using his util to help team entry (using wall to isolate corners, ult to remove site anchor such as cypher, kj, viper ult, op users holding long corridors, etc. ,and using his Q like an omen blind to help teamates, especially deadly on maps where 5 man W-keying onto site with stingers is very strong.), and then coming in as the cleanup crew after using his double tap to snowball (if youre good enough).
I definitely would be expecting to see him alot on double duelist comps, esp with neon/raze etc where undercut significantly increases their threat level (and you dont need lineups for it unlike viper snakbites).

I’m talking about back in 2021 with chamber here and now riots lost the nerve to make any of their new agents good outside fade who they overnerfed. It’s not even like they care about the new agents either, deadlock hasn’t been changed once since her release even with a 0% pick rate.

I'm intrigued to see how double tap interacts with the mollies in the game. Does it provide protection for only a second? Or is it for as long as you are in the molly?
It stops only one piece of dmg so you just wont get hit if you step in it and back out

The main ability loojks like a good anti-op. But because you have to get a kill first and then mess up your crosshair placement. In higher ranks where everyone trades, it's just gonna be useless. you will still die even tho you got the orb.
Maybe they should make it 1 charge and apply the buff right away?

The ult is also a meme, I guess it's alright for last second stalling the bomb when it's 1v1.

The push shield is not bad. but a single use and 250 cost. might be meh in the long run.
The vulnerability well. it's alright, but it costs you to give away your position.
Every ability on this agent is like worse version of everything else.
Rather have the omen flash than the vulnerability.
Rather have Reina orb heals/disengage than the Aim labs minigame.
Rather have any other ult in the game than the 1v1. (it's fun, but useless in competitive setting)
The wall is fine, but also... are you gonna risk it all for a rush tactic announcing to the enemy team exactly where you are pushing? The wall doesn't last very long, and you can't stop it and hold in place. Should be more like Harbor wall. where you can stop it, and have it hold there for a duration.
It definitely is overpowered. I hate when Immortals say something isn't overpowered just because they don't face the problem. Reyna has been broken since release but top players and their fanboys refused to say anything because they don't want to appear like bad players. It's overpowered. Too much utility for a single agent.

A lot of the players won't break stuff for some reason.
They should color it like Cypher's camera so they should break it.
I think making the double tap, heal when you already have the shield is good buff for him so its not just resetting the time of his shield, this can also encourage the enemy to shoot his shield ball more to make counter play.

Double tap time frame now 7.5 seconds
Ult has 8 ult points now.
I’d like it more if iso didn’t die during his ultimate, but instead made a loud sound and longer time for him to get out of the animation leaving him vulnerable, and of course slightly reducing the distance his ultimate travels
No cap but the first changes will be a Nerf change it's double tap to one charge and probably rechargeable like your or Jett and the time window decreased 😂

Finally a humble review, I'm so sick and tired of every UA-camr whenever a new character comes out on any game " OMG THE NEW CHARACTER IS SO BROKEN!!!! XDXD OMG 💯💯🔥🔥 BROKEN CHARACTER WHAT WERE DEVELOPERS THINKING"
hes like definitley ALREADY due for a buff BEFORE HES IN THE GAME which I find funny lmfao, his kit is just way to gimmicky with to many "but" s "but once you activate his ability it takes time to activate, but once its activated you only have a short amount of time to activate it, but once you activate it you have to get a kill, but after you get that kill you have 2 seconds to hit a tiny target, above headlevel, or it disappears, but someone else can hit it before you and you wont get anything from it, but if you hit that, then the shield itself only lasts for a short amount of time, but in that short amount of time it only blocks 1 instance of damage. let alone his q being practically useless, giving VULNERABILITY? for some reason which is absolutely useless to his kit, in a tiny area, instead of something that make more sense and be a bit more useful like suppress or something. LET ALONE his ult being 1000% skill orented. if the other persons better in 1v1s then your ult is absolutely useless almost. I WANT him to be good, cuz I love how he looks and he seems sick, but damn he's bad lmfao.

Uummm, guys I hope I am wrong but I think we have another agent who'll be "unplayable" like Deadlock. Iso's kit has very obvious flaws that don't make him viable, even worse than Reyna :
- His Ult is literally worthless and a waste of orbs if you don't win the duel, and it's never a garantee (even for pros)
- His signature doesn't give an advantage in duel, but only after winning it, and getting the shield is very risky if someone is there to trade.
- his vulnerability projectile isn't a reliable entry tool.
If you compare him with the other duelists, you'll find that even Reyna is more viable.
This is my POV.
I get that you have to view the agent individually... but it's kind of impossible to play Valorant as an individual. It's a team game. Some of the times he's basically sounded as if it's 1v5. You have to factor in the combinations with other agents. Like all I hear is like "oh that'd be good with a Raze grenade or molly." Come on, let's use our thinking caps here.
Not going to lie, was looking for tan analysis of the new agent but none of them have been that good so far. They have decent production value but it's all just like they're reading off a teleprompter. Never any real substance. Feels like I'm watching the same video over and over. Like 50-90% of the video is just gameplay footage or a rundown of his abilities. I want a real analysis. Not just people rushing to produce a video for views.
the ult will be good for enemies during spike defuse, so u wont need to push it and kill, u can just buy time with ur ult.
Double tap is situational. 2 vs 1 ambush, operator, judge is some cases. Not sure if it’s statistically worth it. Like Contingency and Undercut but not sure if duelist would use that.
His kits is the literal “duelist” but his functionality is unlike a duelist. He is more like an Initiator and Sentinel for me. It seem Riot like to make Agent with combined roles nowadays. It might be good gameplay-wise but bad for clear consistent design philosophy for me.
What I'm hearing over and over is that as long as you aim and have good timing he good.
So… lets just turn back the clock and return Chamber to Pre-5.12 since that was his “Achilles heel”.
But nah, Chamber busted and Iso balanced. That tracks.

there is no reason to play him when Reyna or Jett exists, yeah... maybe as double duelist with Iso as support... but, there are way better initiators out there, so still no point for playing him other than look cool playing, is going to be ANOTHER smurf issue agent, and for me, that is just bad game development from riot
his vulnerable is really interesting as a way to hold down a site people are pushing onto. i haven't heard a lot of talk about that
The E is good if the trader is closer to the enemy's corpse than you are because they would have to adjust their mouse more than you do
The E can be countered by double headshots by guns that deal more than 150/hs
The C cannot be effective when used on its own, it's better to be paired with a side-facing wall like harbor, viper, or neon
with this strat, you can take space when entering a map without getting seen, and you have time to stack up behind the wall before it drops (only effective in maps where harbour has seen a lot of play, like breeze, split, bind)
alternatively, the wall can provide cover on its own without any additional abilities, but would be most useful in neutral parts of the map where neither team has control of, like Pearl A long
The Q should be used the same as an Omen flash, doesn't give the same advantage as a blind, but it makes the kill easier anyway
The X is basically a gulag, but it gives the Iso the advantage of displacing himself to an off angle before the barriers drop so the enemy would have to adjust his crosshair accordingly
Iso isn't overpowered, in fact, none of the agents (since chamber, or maybe harbour) have been OP, Ignorant people always make claims that "oh this agent is going to be OP" blah blah blah, this happens when every agent has been teased including Yoru and Deadlock, so don't take it so seriously having to explain that it's not the case, because they would soon find out anyways
No, hes not op. Not in competitive. But in ranked, in unrated. In low lobbys..this operater is going to wreck HELL on silver and below when asshole smurfs decide that the game is too hard or they wanna sell an account. This character is going to RUN lobbys that dont have the aim other people do. And when the WHOLE TEAM is fighting that one asshole that should be plat or immortal it makes all the difference when even one person can get some damage in, but with his stupid sheild its going to be almost impossible to do anything against smurfs now.. already needs a rework
I thought the same when I saw the agent... it's just ok ... not overpowered, not too bad... especially that ult isn't that good... i mean it's just a 1v1 fight just like normal but in different place .... although 1 advantage of extra wall doesn't make big difference in fight.. I mean look at other ults like pheonix he respawns again even he died in his ult... every agent ult is useful in a way but this one is f******* up.
Imagine him and Deadlock Ulting together in 2v2. Round won regardless of the outcome of the duel (since the Deadlock can just spawn camp the dueling enemy's position, even going as far as putting a Sound Trap to concuss the returning foe).
Anybody getting deadlock vibes? Everyone was crying about deadlock when she came out. It's now pretty much universally agreed that she needs buffs.

okay so hear me out: what if, to make Iso's ult a little better for the Iso instead of completely relying on the players skill, Iso's shields last for double the duration of the enemies? It would essentially give him cover while robbing the enemy of theirs, making it a skewed, albeit very slightly, one on one. I think it would be cool to have the choice of what shield to go behind, where to peak, how to approach the 1v1 as Iso since you essentially get 4 different angles of attack after the enemy shield disappears. It is still heavily skill reliant, but now Iso has the edge, which fits since he is fighting the enemy on his terms in the first place.
Obviously this idea will probably never reach Riot, but hey, thought id share!
So people think his alt is kind of a 50/50 cuz of whichever Shield you're standing behind but it's actually a 50/50 for you as him because the other person could also be crouching instead and for them it's a 25% chance
You definitely need good aim to use all of his abilities properly. Other duelists have flashes and damage to clear & make up for poor aim, but Iso feels like the Chamber of his role - you can't aim, you might as well be playing with no abilities 🤣 also I can't run shotguns now..
He's just a Reyna sidegrade. Instead of healing you get 1 bullet of extra life for kills, but you don't have any movement. You have a much worse ult. Instead of flashes you get a tiny mostly useless barrier. He might even be a slightly worse Reyna.
He seems like a Smurf character like Reyna. Complete noob stomper with fragile for insta kills and shield. But for actual play where people are equal... Eh? He doesnt have much utility even compared to most other duelists. His wall is pretty good but its extremely coordinated that gives enemies a clear idea what you will do and its so thin it doesnt even give good cover outside narrow areas. Its not like say a harbor wall where yes they can shoot through but you have two of and can freeze it in vital points and leave up to enter site at own pace, plus is way wider for a team to enter
They'll remove his ability to vun his own team though, like they did with Neons walls by fully nerfing them and the damage they dealt.
Just feel like they're adding agents now without thinking about their state on the game.
Gekko was broken for a long time, Harbor's still ass imo, Deadlocks total shit and needs better util and Neons wall needs its damage back for it to be viable imo
As someone who played more than 50 games with iso, I can definitely say that iso + odin is just massacre. Undercut to make them vulnerable and then odin spam works wonders.
As for ult u can take advantage if enemy is camping or u are in 1v1 attacking, u can just go far and as some u hear defusing u can use ult to keep him from defusing. Iso is pretty op if u use it right.
Its not unusual for ppl calling new agent "broken" or "op". Even deadlock, who turned out to be very situational and underwhelming. Ppl just have this habit on crying over every new things.
Honestly i can only see a few pros take advantage of him... Kangkang, Something, Aspas, Yay etc.
The guys who are more 1 v 1 experts and can isolate fights really well.
ngl since they let enemies break iso orb it should stay for like 4/3.5 seconds instead of 2
How I would fix him: ult gives iso +15 shield, double tap lasts longer and cannot be shot by enemies, and the shield has 150 health added when double tap is active, but if one damage instance clears all 150 extra health then the shield will take the damage and you will not take the rest of the damage, the wall will make contact with enemys, and push them back, but whenever a wall is touching a player pushing him back then it will have a certain amount of durability that will drain when it colides with players
I am glad they are not power creeping the agents, simple fun and not a power house like Jett and Chamber that demand a rework on abilities. His ultimate is literally "1v1 me bro".
I bet we will have moments where both players are rocking shotguns and get timed out.
We'll see what happens, my boy aint even out yet, he looks cool as fuck, I can't speak for everyone or no typa shit, Im just like, say what you will, nothin wrong with bein hyped for a new agent, they don't have to like, break the game bein super overpowered or nothin.

NGL, it's just Reyna but a better Reyna. Has no insane entry gameplay unless you get the kill in order to become invincible. He's an odd but not a broken agent, hardly that I say. He looks super fun though
I think ISO is what Reyna should have been. He's primarily an ego fragger but he has quite a bit more utility that the team can utilise, as well as more options for team play in general. He also does have options to dominate in multiple duels at a time, and if you are able to isolate 1v1's, he has quite similar stopping power to a Reyna.
This guy differently dont know whats hes talking about. tanking 1 op shot, or 1tap hs are very important, his ult can stop plant, and defuse. his wall can make good entry against cypher and kj.
He seems underpowered to me. Specially for a duelist. The ult feels weak. But not useless. I can see and ISO player grabbing a defuser out of the spike in an 1v1 and win the round even if he dies.
you need to be smurf on ur lobby to play him, otherwise, u just gonna embarrass yourself, imagine ulting someone to 1 vs1 to just get 1 taped, and knowing the Valo community and how toxic it is, you will regret that for sure
Does his wall also block throwing abilities like Raze grenade or Viper molly or Brim moly?
Everyone thought deadlock would be OP but she is comfortably the worst agent in the game. I think he will be fun but not amazingly strong.
The interesting thing will be what other agent changes come with the patch.
