Totally. I've had my S5IIX for about 5 months. Completed multiple client jobs with it and man does it deliver. Though 98% of my work is video, I recently had a client need for "Big" images. The S5IIX's "High Res Photo" Mode was incredible. Thanks Caleb.
So many great features, and so much value to be sure. That said... I am so all-in on my MFT lenses, the cost for the glass makes the move very cost-prohibitive. I'm currently shooting with GH5's so I think the GH7 is my next most logical upgrade.
I use the S5iix for corporate training on the maintenance of shiny machines. While working on a team, others don't really want to have to colorgrade. Having the in-camera luts has been great.
My first FF body was Sony A1. It is a fine camera, but very expensive. In the last year I've bought two S5iiX's and several S lenses for less than the A1 bare body cost😀. Then I bought a G9ii to shoot video and stills with my Olympus long lenses. I use the S5iiX cameras for all my video work, and the Sony for stills when I need the resolution. I could get by just fine without the A1 if I had to. Or trade it in for whatever Lumix comes up with next.
I'm still deciding between the S5ii and the GH7. I'm an amateur, but will likely keep the camera for 10 years filming and photographing anything and everything.
Can anyone here suggest a compact 4k camera good for theatre recording (80MM minimum) for 2+ hours without overheating? Price point around $1k. Need to be up on the mezanine and get an orchestra/piano in frame with clear 4k quality. I need to be able to keep it powered up. Needs to be able to charge and keep going for several hours
My only complaint about it is the crop factor when shooting 60FPS. Since I shoot real estate I need to buy wider lens just adjust to get a wider field of view. This should be just a software update I would hope! Other than that I love my S5IIX. Just need to build the lens stock up for it!
Hi Caleb. Thank you for this great lumix content. Keep up the great work! I just wanted your opinion on something. I am an owner of a gh5 and I am using a metabones speedbooster (Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds T Speed Booster XL 0.64x) and all of my 3 lenses are Ef. I am considering upgrading to a S5iix and not a gh7 which a more reasoned choice I guess. I have seen footage from both cameras and I can say that I like the image quality of S5iix a bit more. However that means that I have to find another adapter to use my Ef lenses (probably the sigma mc-21). What do you think about this? Is it worth? I saw that with this adapter the auto focus system works pretty well too compared to the gh7 and the metabones speedbooster. I am mentioning that because having this auto focus system working properly is a really a major factor for me to consider for my next camera and also to utilize my Ef lenses at the same time .
It's pretty wild how good this camera is, actually. INSANE value for the price. Having said that, I would gladly pay top dollar for a fully featured high end cinema camera from Lumix, something that can compete with a V-Raptor or Burano...
Does the S5ii not do focus peaking in AF-S? Focus peaking works in AF-S on the G9ii if you set it up under Video > Focus > Focus Peaking > Display During AFS.
@@Hassanakora I'm just starting, but I'm sure any pro will ask this before giving suggestions: what's your main goal with it (what do you want to film)?
I've had both, Would be no need to keep both! The almost stacked sensor is the only thing the Nikon has over S5IIx and that's not a good thing in comparison because it falls short with dynamic range! Pound for Pound it's hard to beat Lumix's offering in features to dollar ratio! It's not even close IMO
@ I get that, but if you would put the price on top of a check list then compare features you would be hard bent not going with LUMIX. To play devils advocate the third party L mount lenses are non existent and that’s a regret for me switching I love the direction of quality third party lenses for all 😩 I’m on the fence right now going back to Sony they get new lenses every day 🥹

My best bud has the GH6 and it does not disappoint. The autofocus will be a huge upgrade on the GH7
Dude you read my mind. I’ve been wanting to make this video for a while now. All solid reasons why to pick up the s5iix

This has been my favorite camera ever since I got it. It has some very minor flaws but truly no complaints 🙌
I love my S5iiX, I chose this over the GH7.
BEST Value for Money Camera out there right now!

I think it does actually... I've seen it myself on my S5 II
Would love a download to your camera settings. Haven't unlocked what it's truly capable of yet.
How much has your lens line-up changed if at all since the last overall lens video you made? (The one you linked to)
Fucking love this camera. Period
Is GH5 dead ?
Which lens you will recommend for S5II X?

Hi what about GH7?when on sale at around 1600$ before tax
Where have you seen a GH7 for $1600? Link please.
@ Switzerland équivalent you got Crazy Lumix Sales lately in some small Shops Not online
@@filipmichalsaffray441 I see, so not available to everyone.
Even more than the Nikon Z6iii? Don't think so (sadly for me that invested in a Lumix S5II-X as my first "serious" camera for video).
Do you have both cameras? And compared Features that you can use? it’s not even close for the price!
@therealboogie23 I said the one I had. Do you have both?

@therealboogie23 not cropping at 4k60 and a better AF seems like very compelling reasons to keep the Nikon.
