      @goosey THEY DON'T NEED a draft lottery. The pandemic shortened years were a low for the Sharks. I believe in them to win it all they may be a long shot to win it all, BUT the team has a bright future. The team just needs to have the physicality which they always lack on the ice, if they keep that up they WILL WIN GAMES and THEY WILL WIN THE STANLEY CUP.

    Gambling is obviously true he admitted. Throwing games? He was our best player... Teammates don't like/can't play with him? excuses we suck all around. Should we get rid of our best player at the moment? I guess we could lose more kinda use to it now.

    • @jonmendelson1104
      @jonmendelson1104 2 роки тому +4

      He's had recurring issues in several places he's played about showing up late for practices and games, not showing up in proper attire (I don't necessarily agree that there should be restrictions on that but if the team has rules on it and he's breaking them that's still on him), and he allegedly had an altercation that almost came to blows with Rocky Thompson (at the time associate coach). I don't really believe the throwing games thing but if everybody's being held to a standard and one guy just breaks the rules and gets no penalty from the team (also a failure on the part of the leadership) then it can absolutely drag on the team. Despite the fact that his on-ice performance was fantastic, I can absolutely understand frustration from his teammates about double standards.

    • @AxelShifter
      @AxelShifter 2 роки тому +2

      @@jonmendelson1104 agreed, that still doesn't change the fact that we should be getting rid of his problem and the rest of the players who dont show up at game time. What good is showing up to practice collecting a check and we arent winning. This is why the Sharks havent done anything.

      When you make "taking players with some issues" a part of your team's identity like SJS has for the past 15 years or so (Kane, Heatley, Merkley, Torres, Scott, C. Lemieux), this sort of thing can happen. San Jose is kinda lucky that this is the first time it caused conflict and drama.

    Rumor is the sharks players couldn't stand him before all of the recent allegations, he wore out his welcome in Buffalo quickly and was hated by Jets players (maybe you've heard the classic track suit in the shower story involving Byfuglien). Lots of stories of him dining and dashing/ straight up taking merchandise in Winnipeg and refusing to pay, often resorting to the "do you know who I am" strategy, fights with bouncers and banned from bars, he had an assault charge for choking a woman in a bar, multiple affairs, including one where he paid a woman multiple times to get an abortion. It's not just his gambling- but that's a major sign of mental issues (you have to have a crazy problem to blow thru that much money in gambling losses). Even if the gambling on nhl games is unfounded (considering his history it's better than 50/50 chance tho,) he's just an OK 2nd line, 20+ goal a year winger: not worth it for any franchise, doubtful he'll play many more, if any games in the nhl.
