I actually knew that Jason was the knight when rocksteady said that it isn't. I then thought that they were lying because who would want to kill batman so bad? He also said," tonight you pay for everything!" I knew it was because Jason was tortured by joker and he was brainwashed to believe it was all Bruce's fault
Really wish Harley had a deeper role in the story. I would have loved to see an ending where Scarecrow and AK have Batman dead to rights, but Harley notices a fleck of green in Batman’s eyes, and reminds her that in a twisted way Batman is really the only connection to Joker left alive. Realize that Batman is the only other person to interact so closely with Joker, and for that he should be protected. Kind of like if Joker couldn’t beat the Bat then nobody will. And she can be the turning point for Batman’s battle against Scarecrow, the piece of the puzzle that neither the careful planning of Jason Todd nor Jonathan Crane could account for
"Sir, _Batman_ can't let all these people die." Alfred grounding Bruce back to his cause with one line is the kinda stuff we got in Arkham City but not Knight for some reason
The scene you speak of, should have set the foundation for Arkham Knight, and AK’s identity should have been related to that... If you follow me (without spoiling), the character in question died on Bat’s watch, while expressing the NEED to permanently END Joker, to keep him from harming Batman forever! When you focus on the outline narrative, the terror organization that character served was behind the events at Arkham Asylum and subsequently Arkham City....it would have rhymed. Batman was RIGHT, that character was out of their depth, and had NO idea how fucked they were.

EVERYTHING...after the AK reveal, it became apparent why Bruce began keeping Babs, Dick, Selina, Tim, Gordon, and to lesser extent, Alfred, as FAR away from the villains as possible...especially, and most importantly, the one afflicting him psychologically at this point in the story. 3. Batman would absolutely do that! Can you even read comics? They are mostly pictures, for fuck’s sake, you couldn’t even form that thought if literacy weren’t in question. 1. That was the commenter’s point...That, despite shit spinning out, there was no ‘moment of clarity’ or ‘grounding’ for Batman, who was quite clearly fighting insanity at this point. Does that make YOU the ‘dummy’ you tried to make him out to be? *The difference in feel is likely due to the decision NOT to go with Paul Dini for writing for Arkham Knight....he is not only responsible for the ground floor of the DCAU, but also scribed MOST of our Kevin Conroy/Mark Hamill stories, and the first 2 Arkham games. That decision probably had a larger effect on that story than we would hope....
Most people are fine with him being Arkham Knight but the problem is how random and obvious it was and how it felt like just a rehash of the under the red hood story
Exactly, there should’ve been more of a lead up, which honestly would’ve been more possible if Rocksteady just told everybody that Jason was AK from the start and could’ve went more in depth with his character
That's sort of how I felt about it. Honestly, I would understand it a little more if it was a plot point set up by WB games Montreal in Arkham Origins, like how they paid off the Firefly stuff in Arkham Knight in some ways. But somehow, they do a more genuine job with Firefly than they do with Hush... and they wrote hush in Arkham City.
I would’ve liked this, and have side missions where you investigate criminals deaths leading up to investigating black masks murder, and discovering Jason’s alive, after the panessa studios flash backs is when the mission would become available. Thus the DLC for red hood would occur the night before Arkham Knight, with Hush as the Arkham Knight and the scarecrow taking the center stage. The ending would feature Batman’s unmasking, with 4 goons with their guns at oracles, robins, and Gordon’s heads. The red hood would still save batman after the fact (with or without the help of azrael depending upon player choice). The knightfall protocol would feature Bruce’s death and azrael becoming batman, if you bought the dlc then your choice between letting ra’s live or not would affect who azrael would fight, the goons you see in the original cutscene or ra’s al ghul’s assassin’s. What do y’all think?
He could have like revealed his face to the public and make everyone believe Bruce Wayne is evil which would have been a good problem for the bat family to solve
The arkham Knight could have been a reveal later...he could have stolen Bruce's "beyond" suit and become the arkham Knight half way through. Arkham games normally do the half aay through reveal thing anyway
Think a proper bat cave would have been nice. Imagine seeing your collectibles or information on crimes there. Maybe you could solve random murders there like a detective and work on projects or change how your gadgets worked. I think it’d be so cool

Deathstroke boss idea: You start with the same tank battle, but when he jumps out he catches Batman and the two land on a rooftop. Then they fight ( deathstroke would kinda be a combination of the assassins= multi parry attacks, And Black mask= dodgable rifle attacks). In the last phase, he'd take a sniping position and Batman would have to stealth takedown him, ending the fight. Like this Deathstroke could still say that Bats caught him off guard. ( Also it simulates that D. And B. are equal in hand to hand) Any thoughts?

It would have been a lot better if Hush WAS the Arkham knight, and this was somehow tied into his plan in Arkham City. The visual shock of seeing Bruce's face beneath the mask would have been awesome...allowing players to instantly realise who it actually is.
Scarecrow boss battle at the end would have been better too instead of just surrendering. They could have instead have had the cloudburst be used at the end of the game and Scarecrow gets the upperhand and we get this epic battle against him in middle of the city in some trippy nightmare sequence. That's where he would get the upper hand and we can all do the identity reveal and Jason coming in saving the day or maybe thats when Poison Ivy does her thing to help. I don't know anything but surrendering lol Literally could have had the same story beats just get rid of the surrendering part for cool scarecrow part.
Yeah I think that was one of the biggest flaws of the Arkham Knight Story: no red herrings. It’s such an underwritten mystery. The games story never provides any potential Arkham Knight identities or had Batman try to use his detective skills to work out who the Arkham Knight was.
I would have the Batmobile not have its tank feature, and just be a car. No tanks in the game whatsoever. I'd also have the Riddler missions and trophies be halved so its not such a stretch to get the ending. I'd also much prefer the Bat family to be more featured and have nightwing be in the story a lot. Another thing I'd change is the arkham knight's identity to maybe someone like Hush, Ra's Al Ghul or Anarky. They made it too obvious that Jason was gonna be the arkham knight. I also really wish the bosses were better and not just a batmobile chase or a *tank fight leading into a 1 hit K.O*

A really cool mechanic that I think could have been used is having fear toxin be used in combat. Say if one of the enemies hits you with the toxin, the visuals change somehow, maybe there’s hallucinations about new enemies appearing that technically aren’t there or the enemies that are there get powered up.
The only real problem about the game is the fact that Batman at the end still didn’t *really* learn his lesson-and too much tank. Way too much tank. Still loved the game hands down tho
@@adamdunne6645 because 60% of the game you have to literally fight enemies with the Batmobile and those stupid Riddler puzzles had to be done with the Batmobile as well. As for the Joker twist that's not how scarecrows Gas Works and plus it just a convenient way to get Joker in the game even though they killed them off in Arkham City plus he takes away the spotlight from other villains.
Adam Dunne Vehicles / gadgets should always be an extension of Batman, never a replacement. The fact that the Bat Tank was required for everything was ridiculous. Not to mention especially against Deathstroke...abysmal. Joker was already used for 2 full games. The emotional impact of his death in Batman: Arkham City was completed undermined by bringing him back in Arkham Knight. Especially with him cracking jokes...
-More bruce wane -The game shouldn't be one night, but have some missions where u d be playing as bruce wane and it would be day. -no tank battles (jeezus) -more detective puzzles -the city shouldn't be that dead and empty. There should be some civilians, and in early missions where there are no main threats to the city, it should be more alive
I wouldn’t consider the “Arkham knight” to be an original character more like an original ego for Jason I was kinda thinking that it would be Prometheus because rocksteady was talking about they would add him into the series
I heard the following idea in a video which I thought was pretty cool: After batman stops those guys in the GCPD roof when the building is under attack, Prometheus and a bunch of soliders come in and you have a boss battle with him. It makes sense since his character hates cops.

My main issue with Knight is the Cobra tank battles. The game could have been way better if we had actual boss fights instead of destroying tanks and taking the Batmobile everywhere you go
Arkham knight could’ve been set more in the future (similar to Dark knight rises) where the Arkham Knight was actually Damian Wayne who blames him for the death of his mother being trained by Ra’s. That way you could keep the whole part of the Arkham Knight knowing so much about Batman.
@@dannydomino55 Yeah, Sharp killed himself because of the events of Arkham City, but another way they could have gone was to have him fully snap instead. There's a mystery throughout Arkham Asylum that reveals Sharp thinks he's possessed by the founder o Arkham and in City it's shown these delusions were in part caused by Hugo Strange drugging and manipulating him. It wouldn't be hard to buy that Sharp finally just completely goes insane after all he's been through and assumes an identity named the Arkham Knight in order to destroy Gotham, believing it to be infected with sickness, and Batman being the worst.

From what I’ve heard and based off the setup from city I’m pretty sure hush was supposed to be the main villain in Dini’s version. This would’ve been much better and they could’ve incorporated a Bruce Wayne story into the game rather than completely a Batman story
I like this idea and thought of it myself. Less out of a joke or anger though but more because batman needs an arch enemy when joker dies. The narrative would I imagine follow similar ones where Alfred is the joker. Some interesting ideas there anyhow.
I think Azrael should have stayed a side mission and if you complete the side mission before a certain part of the game he becomes batman and moves into the main story. But if you don't and move forward into the story he's a villain and becomes part of the main story.
I actually rewrote the entire story and central plot of the games story I’m going to put my version ( warning very long) So the game opens with the same cutscene it shows the joker getting cremated and the whole diner scene happening then hush wearing a scarecrow mask sprays fear toxin at the cop then the whole monologue happens then the game continues like the original then you go to ace chemicals to stop Scarecrow then you meet the Arkham knight who says the same stuff “we know how you think”but this time you don’t use the bat mobile to fight at ace chemicals cause Hush tied civilians onto his tanks so you can’t use the bat mobile cause of his no killing rule. then you get to scarecrow he escapes you get sprayed with toxin and then the joker appears and as your walking out of ace chemicals the place starts to change into Arkham Asylum then the joker pulls out his Titan gun and becomes Titan joker than you fight him as a giant scarecrow is hovering over you then after you beat him you get outside and Oracle is taken by hush and you follow dna (without the tank) to find her then scarecrow tells you I’m building a device to engulf the entire city in fear gas he tells Batman to bring him Croc and he will not engulf the city so Batman calls nightwing to find croc you do but he doesn’t want to follow you so you have to chase him down then you fight killer croc and you bring him to scarecrow at Stagg airships. Then he begins to torture croc with his toxin and after that you find out about the cloudburst and while that’s happening joker is following you throughout the game like in the original and when you get to the part with 2 scarecrows hush is dressed up as scarecrow while the real one is hiding so you grab hush then scarecrow sprays you then another nightmare happens this time your in the movie theater in Arkham city where you fought clayface and you fight him with scarecrow watching from above then after that Hush activates the cloudburst and the city is engulfed in toxin then you have to find poison ivys plants and then fight Hush in the cloudburst but this time when you destroy hush’s tank he jumps out then you grab him and it’s revealed to be joker then poison ivy dies as the toxin is gone then you go to the HQ where you rescue Gordon then you fight the Arkham knight toe to toe (like the death stroke fight) then after you beat him he reveals his identity to Wayne and he’s shocked then Hush escapes and you go to the roof and save Oracle then you head back to the GCPD and then you fight the calvacade of tanks then it’s revealed that scarecrow kidnapped all the members of the bat family oracle(again) robin nightwing and red hood and Gordon then Batman has to go and save them scarecrow tells Batman to go to the truck then they arrive at Arkham Asylum and the door opens and Two face penguin Harley Quinn riddler and scarecrow all have guns pointed at him then he gets on the gurney and the batfamily is getting tortured then Hush appears and gets a camera ready to reveal who he is then hush gets the camera ready and he comes out as Bruce Wayne and talks to the people of Gotham then scarecrow comes on the screen and Hugging hush to say Bruce was bad the whole time so now everyone hates Wayne but then right at that moment Azrael appears and saves Batman then you fight the villains then you have to reveal your identity to save your character to tell them I’m the real Bruce Wayne but Hush keeps saying he’s a liar so you fight Hush again then scarecrow reveals there’s one more guy he hired then it’s revealed that the joker who was following you the whole game was CLAYFACE then you fight him again then scarecrow gives you his final dose of toxin then the game crashes and the game starts up again back at the beginning but everyone is now a bad guy then you wake up in the nightmare land and you finally fight scarecrow himself in the nightmare then after you beat him you give him a taste of his own medicine and he sees killer croc running at him he screams in fear you knock him out thank Azrael for being a great help you arrest all the criminals then there’s one thing left to do tell the truth. Then you tell the people I’m the real Bruce Wayne and that was a fake one then you do the knightfall protocol everyone thinks Bruce is now dead but in reality he’s still here as Batman

Friend in need(red hood) 11th. Milita watchtowers 12th. Campaign for disarmament 13th. Own the roads(all 3 missions of milita to fight Deathstroke) So what I did was is I got rid of the penguin and two face missions cause there in the main story and replaced them with mad hatter and mr freeze And I also changed friend in need to red hood cause Hush is the main villain in my story EDIT:the line of Duty mission will have killer moth as the boss so firefly and killer moth team up to kill the fire men
I would've liked it to be Damien Wayne twisted by the league of shadows to fight his father. Naming himself the Arkham Knight after the place where his mother died. I know there are some timeline issues with this but setting the events of Arkham Knight years after rather than months could be a viable option
Instead of having the flashbacks of Jason so early. I was thinking that when jason confronted batman, they would do that boss battle without batman knowing he was jason. Then when batman was punching him on the floor jason's mask would come of then all the flash backs of jason would appear
That would have been fun. Jason flashbacks, some piece of evidence pointing to the Arkham Knight being some other random dude, then the ultimate reveal, as Batman pummels what he thinks is just another villain when it’s really Jason.
I just feel like in general, they should've leaned a little heavier into the idea of batman fighting his biggest mistakes and having him be the ultimate underdog. They did have jason and Barbara flashbacks, but have more flashbacks to batman's greatest failures, like the other games and deaths from those games like flashbacks to talia, joker or alfred from origins. And make arkham knight better prepared for batman and make batman look a little weaker in certain points to make us think batman is giving up and he cannot compete with his enemies but preserves in the end. Just my opinion, but the game would've been better if they dove a little more into these ideas. And I always thought, how cool would it be is hush took over the city and started framing Bruce for his crimes after the reveal of Bruce's identity and have hush be the true ending. He had so much potential they could've used in AK as well...
So I have come to the conclusion that this is ur favorite Arkham game. (Yes, yes, I’m a genius, I know,) which is cool to have other opinions but I have never seen Arkham Knight at the top of someone’s list. My favorite is Arkham City. (Like most.)

I actually put a lot of thought into a superior conclusion to the final mission of the Militia side quests: It is clear that there was another base the militia were operating out of; after taking the tunnels and the mall the militia don't come back, and of course the guy whose piloting the tanks has to be somewhere, not to mention the tanks they keep to deploy later, which at a presumption, since we never find it, must be outside the city. My idea is that after taking out the last checkpoint/watchtower/bomb (whichever one you finish last) Alfred or Oracle calls you to announce that they had discovered the location of this base, and you go to grand avenue so that the Batwing can pick you up, and take you to this base, where you first have to take out the last of their tanks (yes, one last tank battle) but then you get out and try to infiltrate the base, giving another predator thing, before finding the main barracks where you have one last brawl, before Slade finally appears, and you get a proper fight, even if it is just a clone of the fight from Origins, it'd be cool.
I always loved the idea of Talia being the Arkham Knight. Would have been another way for Scarecrow to manipulate Bruce and show his guilt for not saving her in City.
I kind of like that the Arkham Knight is Jason, mostly because I can use it as an excuse to call Red Hood the Arkham Knight in the sense that Batman is the Dark Knight.
I liked the Arkham Knight being Jason Todd but they should’ve had more build up in the previous games. They didn’t even mention him once in any of the other Arkham games.
I agree with basically everything in this video. I just wanted to add my disappointment with how the Bat-Family was used. In the trailers they showed us a shot of Robin and Nightwing behind Batman on a rooftop. I was super excited because I thought they were going to be critical to the story. Obviously they weren’t but when Batman needed them the most, he kept pushing them away. Why would Batman even need them in the series at all if he would just rather work alone in the most critical of times? I understand that Batman has always preferred to work alone but Robin and Nightwing were largely involved in other media like in The New Adventures and Knightfall before Batman’s back was broken by Bane. Instead of just giving up, Robin and Nightwing could have helped Batman against Scarecrow at the end. I think Nightwing should’ve tracked Batman to the Asylum or at least have Alfred tell him what Batman was gonna do. I could probably keep going but I’ll end it there.
Bring back Bane, better fight with him than their previous games. He was great in Origins, Arkham Knight still should've been Talia having flipped out over Arkham City. Maybe bring back Deadshot, Copperhead, and Deathstroke as the main officers, in charge of the troops. A little more with Two Face and Harley Quinn as well as Black Mask. No Joker.
Like with your idea for Knightfall and Azrael taking over - I feel it would have been awesome to implement a mechanic where you choose your successor - between Azrael, Nightwing, Robin etc
It would be cool, but there was no buildup towards Damien at all. Not a single mention from the other games or a reference to him. It would’ve came outta nowhere if Damien was the Arkham Knight
One cool concept I would love if they had done was mixing Phantom Pain gameplay options were you choose what to bring, suit and different aproches to the same obj. like takin over a base, there you can do it stealth or guns blasing. Imagine a batman game where u have different suits like one is more steath but u die fast and other for more head on fights

Going along with the “the Arkham knight is just some guy” idea, I feel for the ending of the game somehow scarecrow finds out Batman is Bruce Wayne. Scarecrow then gets some Lazarus from Ras al ghūl (because in my hypothetical situation Ras gave scarecrow the army to destroy Gotham, so they are kinda best buds) and goes to Wayne manor to resurrect Bruce’s parents so he can really screw Bruce up and bring out his worst fears. Batman goes to confront scarecrow and they have a boss battle that reminisces back to the Arkham asylum scarecrow encounters. They fight over the tube of Lazarus and it ends up falling and breaking on a patch of grass. Now, instead of the fear toxin Batman end-credit scene, the credits cut to the broken glass tube and then pan up to show that it landed on Jason Todd’s grave. Then a hand pops out of the grass and then it cuts to black. Now I know this isn’t great but I think it’s wayyyy better than the “without the belt their is no Batman ending.”
That was a really cool scenario you set up! I could really visualize the scene of the lazarus liquid leaking on top and into jason's grave. The only problem is how would it even get through his casket? Lol either it's that corrosive or jason is buried without a casket. In that case there might be nothing left. Anyways cool idea dude!
As cool as that would be, Bruce’s parents logically couldn’t be resurrected. They’d be just a pile of bones by the time Arkham Knight rolls around, unfortunately
Another thing they could've done with Azrael is have the locations of burning bat symbols become switch points between Batman, Azrael and different characters. That's if you pick to not kill him and complete the main story. (Basixally unlock Azrael as a switchable character, with other characters you dont need to do that option, Azrael is just a exclusive to the choice) Kinda like city where after the story you can go to certain spots to switch to said character.
I disagree with the Alfred part. I think that not seeing him throughout the whole game really shows how batman is really busy and understands the gravity of the situation that he doesn't have the time to return to the batcave
There should’ve been more Batfamily side missions, and solo Batfamily side missions, imagine if the ice truck missions were just with Nightwing, or having Azrael take out certain militia groups or Tim is investigating Pyg, have them do things that in the world would allow Batman to put his full attention on the Arkham Knight
Honestly, they could have used Prometheus instead of the Arkham Knight. They had already established him as a character in the series through a riddle in Arkham Asylum and he is the literal definition of an 'anti-Batman', which is what they wanted to do with the Arkham Knight. I really like Red Hood and Jason Todd as a character in the DC comics, but if I was on the writing team, I would have definitely made use of Prometheus. Another way to incorporate Jason would be to just make him the Red Hood and kinda follow the plot of Batman: Under the Red Hood, where he is trying to be a better Batman than Batman himself. Then it would be a 3-way fight between Scarecrow, Batman and the Red Hood.
If I could change the story, I would make Prometheus the AK and have him work with Scarecrow, Deathstroke, and the militia. Jason Todd will still be there, but as the Red Hood instead. He would be the anti-hero that helps Batman occasionally, but eventually fights him to due their moral disagreement about killing. Having Jason be an anti-hero instead would make him saving Batman from Scarecrow at the end feel more earned compared to the original. I would also try to give Tim and Dick more to do in this story. Maybe have them deal with Harley Quinn while Batman is busy with the militia. Once Harley is dealt with have them try to save Batman while he's cornered by the AK and the militia, like Catwoman did in AC after her side story finished. Jason could join in too so you could have Batman and the 3 Robins in the same scene together.
I do think it could be interesting if Hush had a hatred for the Waynes all together due to Thomas Wayne saving his father. And since Thomas Wayne is Dead already, he planned to kill Bruce destroying the Wayne name forever as revenge. Also Hush in the comics knew Batman’s identity, he was smart which made him more interesting. Though I’ve never liked that his motivation is just greed.
As bad as this sounds, I kinda wanted them to kill off Alfred or something. Since they even had it a close call in origins, it would’ve served to foreshadow while also giving Batman a prime motivation, thus completing the story arc
Here's the thing with Red Hood right, in every carnation of him, made him come back as a new villain and then later on we find out that Jason is Red Hood. So if you want to have Jason in your game you have to make him a "plot twist" and there was no way they could do that with Red Hood so they made him the Arkham Knight.

More of a twist would have been the Arkham knight being joker and the joker in city and asylum was Jason mentally broken and believing himself to be joker while joker was away building his plan against batman

They should’ve incorporated Bane more like since he has no more venom obviously he has more focus and could’ve incorporate origins with him starting to remember who Batman is and he could’ve trained a random guy to be the Arkham knight like a shadow puppet figure until Bane basically gets full strength
I'll like it if the arkham knight was Damien wayen. Have him be grown up enough to fight hand to hand with Batman, have the fight between them be the a great fusion of the Ra's al ghul fight from city and the deathstroke fight from origins. Never had an issue with it being Jason. In my mind Batman figures it out almost right away, but refuses to acknowledge it until teaming up with Tim. Even then he tries to convince himself it's just the joker messing with him.
Hush being the Arkham Knight would have been perfect. Scarecrow and Hush as the main villains represent perfectly a final dichotomy for Batman to go up against. Scarecrow hates and wants to destroy Batman. Hush hates and wants to destroy Bruce Wayne.
Honestly I think jason being the arkham knight made sense but he should've been built up more than a throwaway line in the first game. Who else would've been able to fit the bill? He knows EVERYTHING about batman. He knew about Oracle, all of his tactics, all of his gadgets, the only reason it was so bad was because he wasnt built up enough I feel

Hush should have replaced Arkham knight or been Arkham knight imagine when scarecrow finds out Batman’s Bruce and he sees hush looks like Bruce then everyone see’s two Bruce’s on tv And like hush could be working with scarecrow and reveal his Identity and just ruin Bruce’s name. Damien Wayne or a version of Bruce's son should have been the Knight (Think back to the night in metropolis Talia and Bruce spent mentioned in City). And I'm one of those that does think Arkham Knight is a new character not Jason Todd. It's not like saying Red Hood was just the same character as the second Robin when they did it in the comics? I think everyone just guessed it and Rocksteady wanted to think they could fool all the people that go out if their way to guess (ruin plotlines) Also ditch the tank battles. Batmobile could be used like Firefly and the APC (yeah they shouldn't have been as many either but the chasing feels more like Batmobile gameplay). Just my opinions I still really like Arkham Knight
I'm late to this party, BUT i love this game, it's story, scary moments, side missions... Maybe this opinion is unpopular, itd. I truly love AK and i actually cried at the end of the game when Bruce lost everything to save the city and it's people.
What Rocksteady should've done in Batman: Arkham Knight was combine the Batman: Arkham Trilogy with the Mass Effect Trilogy in terms of having Batman talk with his Family throughout the game at certain points which could determine the final confrontation with Scarecrow. Once the GCPD is under attack Batman can fight alongside the Bat Family (depending on those who were recruited) and players can switch between them and perform double takedown maneuvers (except for Azrael since he doesn't know the Bat Family and Catwoman can't take down the brutes). Before going to confront Scarecrow, Alfred informs Batman he must bring his Family into the fight but naturally he's reluctant to do so and it is here the player makes the ultimate decision on whether Batman should fight alone or bring his Family (and if Batman decides to fight alone but had recruited the Family earlier, they will still come with or without Batman's approval). Here's what I had in mind for having the conversations with his Family (if you chose differently than Bruce did): Alfred Pennyworth- Recruitment Opportunity: While talking to Alfred, Joker’s face unexpectedly appears after visiting Ace Chemicals and Batman has the option to tell him about seeing the Joker. Result: If Alfred is informed he offers Batman wisdom and XP as seen in Batman: Arkham Origins (aside from selecting gadgets, there's an option to talk with Alfred) and also reminds him the Joker is dead and because of his exposure to Scarecrow's fear gas at Ace Chemicals means he's letting the fear cloud his judgment and must ignore the hallucinations. As a result Joker won't appear as often while in Gotham City and is only seen at the Cyrus Pinkney Orphanage, GCPD, Panessa Studios, and cutscenes. He will also inform the Family knowing Bruce would be foolish into not telling them around the time Batman visits the Panessa Studios after the GCPD assault. In terms of Batman's allies, it depends on whether or not the side missions involving them are completed before the final confrontation otherwise they will be left out and end like it did in the game. Once their missions are done, the player could then decide if Batman should recruit them for the final confrontation or not (and as seen in Arkham City there would be certain areas where the player could switch between characters to explore the city but they won't participate in the main walkthrough, the side missions, or even drive the Batmobile). (Note: If his allies are recruited, some predator rooms during the game would have fewer enemies since they took a hit from the Bat Family and will have comments on each of them, except for the Arkham Knight’s militia since that task belongs to Batman alone) Azrael (Michael Lane)- Recruitment Opportunity: Upon completing the Heir to the Cowl side mission the player must decide to either try to kill Batman, break the sword, or walk away (Note: If the player chooses to walk away then Azrael will not participate, while trying to kill Batman ends like it did in the game) Result: He states while the Order of St. Dumas has to answer for what they did to him, he decides that can wait since Batman needs all the help he can get and considers it an honor to fight alongside the Dark Knight. Predator Room Commentaries: The criminals are unfamiliar with Azrael and think he's some Templar knight or assassin (Assassin's Creed references). Location in the GCPD: Viewing the cell containing Batman's rogues gallery (Two Face, Penguin, Riddler, etc) Catwoman (Selina Kyle)- Recruitment Opportunity: Once she has Riddler's explosive collar removed during the Riddler’s Revenge side mission and they're outside the orphanage. Result: She'll act like she's not interested and would rather hit an art gallery or two, but will actually join in the confrontation (she's vital since she provides Oracle information regarding Scarecrow's location at Arkham Asylum since Selina tried to spy on Crane prior to the start of the game but was spotted by a drone according to her story after solving a riddle). Predator Room Commentaries: Every criminal in Gotham City now know Catwoman's an ally of Batman and next time they see her, take out all of her nine lives. Location in the GCPD: The GCPD Trophy Room Romance Opportunity: The only chance to develop a romance with Selina Kyle would be after defeating the Riddler for the last time and she tells Batman to "be a good damsel and bestow a kiss on your gallant hero." Note: There's a limited time window to return her kiss, otherwise their relationship may end depending on whether or not she was recruited earlier. As for her location within the GCPD Trophy Room the following results with the room's contents and the guards standing outside depends on the options regarding the choice to Selina's recruitment and commitment to a relationship: Option 1 (Worst): If the player doesn't recruit Catwoman nor kiss her, Selina will not participate in the confrontation and Scarecrow's location is provided anonymously by which is later revealed to be Red Hood. GCPD Trophy Room: Both guards are incapacitated and a few items are missing. Option 2 (Bad): If she is recruited but Batman doesn't kiss her, she's annoyed by Bruce being so damn stubborn but will still help though afterwards she leaves to be on her own. GCPD Trophy Room: The guards remain at their post but one or two items are missing and the items pertaining to Talia al Ghul are destroyed. Option 3 (Undecided): Both Batman and Catwoman will continue their traditional flirtatious relationship but Selina won't participate in the fight with Scarecrow nor join the Family afterwards if Bruce gives Selina her kiss yet not recruit her. GCPD Trophy Room: The result is the same as the Bad option though Selina leaves behind her calling card. Option 4 (Best): If the player recruits Catwoman and Batman kisses her, she will be officially included into the Bat-Family after the events of Arkham Knight and enter into a relationship. Result: Not only does Batman give Catwoman a passionate kiss she wasn't expecting but he will speak exactly the opposite on what he said in Arkham Knight (in terms of Gotham needs "something worse to defend her" and essentially admitting his feelings for her). Their conversation is brief but romantic (since they share another kiss) and ends when he walks to the Batmobile and she tells him "call if you need me," and he replies with "I will." GCPD Trophy Room: The guards are gone since Catwoman appears to be trustworthy and she doesn't take anything, though she does tell Batman of how unlike him and the rest of his Family even she could see that Talia never had feelings for him and practically played him for a fool which is something she would never do. Despite his disbelief Selina tells him while she may not be a World's Greatest Detective even she could see through Talia's deception and eventually Bruce realizes what Catwoman said is true (even the Joker hallucination flat out told him of Talia's unhealthy obsession with her "beloved"). Nightwing (Richard ‘Dick’ Grayson)- Recruitment Opportunity: Upon completion on capturing the Penguin in the GunRunner side mission Result: Dick Grayson is surprised Bruce is actually asking for help given Batman had never done so in the past when he was Robin but accepts the offer and will do his part. Predator Room Commentaries: Several criminals question why is Nightwing in Gotham City when he's supposed to be in Bludhaven, resulting in some of them explaining he was the original Robin so it's no surprise that he would be in Gotham helping the Dark Knight. Location in the GCPD: Near the cells after entering the GCPD Oracle (Barbara Gordon)- Recruitment Opportunity: Unnecessary since she’s already part of the walkthrough. Result: If Azrael, Catwoman, Nightwing and Robin are recruited and Alfred is informed on Joker messing with Batman’s mind they will infiltrate Arkham Asylum to rescue Batman and the hostages from Scarecrow. During the final battle Robin and Catwoman work to disable communications and giving Oracle the means to jam the signal preventing Batman’s unmasking being broadcasted to the world while Nightwing and Azrael work to neutralize the remaining militia (Jason, now the Red Hood secretly helps them from behind the scenes and only Barbara knows about it). Location in the GCPD: As seen in the game Robin (Tim Drake)- Recruitment: Even though Tim Drake gets locked into a cell at the Panessa Studios, once Oracle is rescued by Batman this would be the only opportunity to go back to the studio and release Robin (though he's still pissed off at Batman for locking him up earlier) before Batman heads for Oracle’s clock tower and Scarecrow launches an attack on the GCPD. Result: Initially Robin will refuse to say anything to Bruce but after he is told Barbara is alive, he is willing to forgive Batman and will help him defeat Scarecrow and then heads over to the GCPD to see her (but adds they will have a 'talk' about Bruce deciding what's best for everyone after Scarecrow has been defeated). (Note: If Robin is recruited he will not be taken hostage by Scarecrow during the assault on the GCPD, Aaron Cash and Vicki Vale gets taken hostage after being called on false leads and they have to be rescued during the final confrontation) Predator Room Commentaries: Robin is the only one that will have few commentaries because he spent the majority of the game locked in a cell at the Panessa Studios. @@nathanfracasse6645 And there's more to add below: During the sequence when Scarecrow forces Batman to surrender in order to save Gordon and the hostages (Aaron Cash and Vicki Vale if Robin was recruited prior to the GCPD attack or Robin if he wasn’t) aside from having to lose his utility belt, Batman is contacted by Alfred who tells him he must call for his Family to assist him but Bruce tells him he can’t because he doesn’t want any harm to come to them. Alfred then reminds Batman of what he once told him Batman: Arkham Origins “it is time that you realize you’re a man, not an island. And a man is defined not by his brawn or intellect but through the strength of his allies.” The sequences vary if the Family were invited prior to this point (Robin as well) and the players must decide if Batman should bring the Family into the fight or not: A. If Batman finally admits that he has to defeat Scarecrow and protect Gotham City but can’t do it alone, he allows Alfred to call the Family and to track his signal for them to find him and back him up (Batman has a locator beacon hidden in his cowl): a. After Batman “kills” the Joker the scene switches to the GCPD instead of the Arkham Asylum Mansion where the Bat Family figures on where Batman is (they’re able to track him for a while but lose the signal) though Catwoman explains that Scarecrow’s base of operations is at Arkham Asylum and have increased security after her last visit (however if Selina wasn't recruited an anonymous tip provides them the information). Given the Asylum’s now a fortress they'll have to figure out how are they going to get onto the island to rescue Batman and the hostages without drawing attention. A short while later they receive intel from an anonymous tip that explains Scarecrow plans to have Batman unmasked and broadcast to the world showing Batman’s only a man in a mask and have him injected with a massive dose of Fear toxin to show if even Batman succumbs to fear then no one is safe (Barbara figures out that it’s Jason but doesn’t tell the others until later). The Intel also includes a means of utilizing the Trojan horse tactic of infiltrating the island using a militia APC that is scheduled to return from patrol but never reached its destination and provided a cover story to explain the reason for late arrival (maintenance issues). Oracle figures the best option after getting onto Arkham Island is to split into two teams having both Robin and Catwoman disable the militia’s communications so they can’t call for backup and allowing Barbara to jam the signal to stop the broadcast (predator mission) while Nightwing and Azrael work on neutralizing the remaining militia (combat mission) before the Family can then get to Scarecrow and rescue Batman. During both missions Jason will provide sniper support taking down the militia (during the predator missions if Robin and Catwoman gets spotted and while Nightwing and Azrael fight the soldiers) leaving both teams confused as to whose their guardian angel and only Barbara knows but keeps her mouth shut and only reveals the truth after the events of the game. b. Players can then decide which task to focus on first but either way results in the same conclusion: the remaining militia are taken out and the broadcast signal is jammed, but it depends if the side missions that involved taking down the militia and defeating Deathstroke were completed beforehand. By completing the side missions involving the militia it eliminates certain enemy types the Family don’t have to deal with (leaving only the basic soldiers), otherwise it’ll make their jobs more complicated: i. Armored and Dangerous: Rattler Drones (in the event the side mission hasn’t been completed, players must access computer terminals in order to shut them down) ii. Occupy Gotham: Militia drones and militia soldiers wearing stealth technology iii. Own The Roads: Militia Brutes and medics iv. Deathstroke: Players must answer a serious of 5 questions from the previous Arkham games in order to bypass security if Slade Wilson hasn’t been dealt with: All correct answers- No one will know the wiser, 3 correct answers- security on moderate alert and will occasionally search certain hiding places, no correct answers- security on high alert and will search every hiding place.
B. Should Batman still maintain his belief he has to save Gotham on his own to protect his Family, Alfred tries arguing with Bruce but gets hanged up on. It’s still the same concept as mentioned above on how it would play out, only the Family knows what Batman is doing is pure suicide since he clearly can’t take Scarecrow all by himself. Alfred then decides to tell the Family there were times that even he disagreed with Batman’s decisions and tells them to use the best strategy: disobey him.
There is one obscure character from the comics who I believe would be perfect for the role of Arkham Knight. I remember prior to the game's release, the Arkham Knight was stated to have no prior interaction with Batman at all, yet had a desire to kill him, and this character perfectly fit that role. For those of you who're curious about the character look up the short story "An Innocent Guy".
One of my favorite games of all time despite its many flaws. Here's what I'd do - Make some of the side missions longer/more in depth and interesting (depends on the particular mission - the Hush mission could use an entire re-work as it was marvelously disappointing, as was Deathstroke's boss fight) - Less tank, more predator/combat (I do really enjoy the tank stuff, it was just too prevalent) - For fuck's sake, make the DLC more than just an excuse for more predator and combat maps. I was hoping for an end to the characters of Riddler, Penguin, and Two Face, but instead got challenge maps in sequential order. - Don't lock the true ending behind every side mission. Personally, I didn't have a problem as I was going to do every side mission regardless, but I can definitely see others not wanting to do the Riddler stuff, so for that reason it's unfair - Give a few more character moments after the story. I wanted Batman to really talk to Robin and Gordon after the end of the story (especially Gordon, since he betrayed Batman), but you never see them after the Scarecrow confrontation. I really liked the story. Of course the Jason Todd thing was a bit predictable if you're a comic book fan, but that doesn't at all make me dislike it, and I loved everything to do with Batman's psyche and the Joker.
100% agree with everything you guys said and honestly wasn't sure if I would have at first, but I was pleasantly surprised! Along with all those changes, I also personally would have connected the story (or more specifically the arkham knight) to the plot between asylum and city with strange, quincy sharp and ra's al ghul. This would probably be hard but given the villain is the 'arkham' knight, I thought there would be some connection, as a sort of last resort type plan. That and more scarecrow would've been great. Was so happy when he was shown as one of the main villains but so disappointed when he was overshadowed by jason. Would've loved to see him experiment with titan one last time and really tie up all the little plot devices that were made for the arkhamverse.
I was just playing the killer croc mission in asylum and the music was playing I looked behind me and thought I hit him with a batarang but the music kept playing then a had a heart attack when he ran around a corner infront of me and missed me by an inch when I hit him with a batarang Edit: Now he just came from behind me and after he fell off he jumped infront of a wooden caution wall that he broke and ran after I think I shit my pants
Scarecrow would show up with his new ally the arkham knight. He would then start the no man's land and blow up the bridges to Gotham. Meanwhile hush would have taken all the money from Bruce Wayne's Bank and went back to being hush planning to take over Gotham. Eventually hush would get into conflict with scarecrow and after a gang war that's last the mid part of the game, hush would perish at the hands of azriel, who would be stalking you from rooftops like in city. After that Scarecrow tried to start the cloudburst program and Batman tries to stop him. Inbetween the missions Batman would fine more of azriels victims. Eventually Batman would be at ace chemicals ready to stop the program. Arkham knight would then attack and they'd fight. After a fight like Deathstroke in origins Batman would win and the Arkham knight would flee, without revealing his identity. Batman would then shut down the program and be attacked by Scarecrow and would have a sequence like he did in asylum. He would overcome this and take him down. After he'd eventually get a signal from azriel that would tell him to meet in crime alley. Azriel, who believes he is destined to destroy Batman and take his place would attack and the two would have a epic battle, ending with azriel being detained and Batman being burned to death by the soul taker sword. that's my plot for Arkham knight if I could redo it. Hope you like it.
Even if the character development for Arkham Knight sucked, we can all admit his design is awesome.

I actually knew that Jason was the knight when rocksteady said that it isn't. I then thought that they were lying because who would want to kill batman so bad? He also said," tonight you pay for everything!" I knew it was because Jason was tortured by joker and he was brainwashed to believe it was all Bruce's fault

Really wish Harley had a deeper role in the story. I would have loved to see an ending where Scarecrow and AK have Batman dead to rights, but Harley notices a fleck of green in Batman’s eyes, and reminds her that in a twisted way Batman is really the only connection to Joker left alive. Realize that Batman is the only other person to interact so closely with Joker, and for that he should be protected. Kind of like if Joker couldn’t beat the Bat then nobody will. And she can be the turning point for Batman’s battle against Scarecrow, the piece of the puzzle that neither the careful planning of Jason Todd nor Jonathan Crane could account for

The scene you speak of, should have set the foundation for Arkham Knight, and AK’s identity should have been related to that...
If you follow me (without spoiling), the character in question died on Bat’s watch, while expressing the NEED to permanently END Joker, to keep him from harming Batman forever!
When you focus on the outline narrative, the terror organization that character served was behind the events at Arkham Asylum and subsequently Arkham City....it would have rhymed.
Batman was RIGHT, that character was out of their depth, and had NO idea how fucked they were.

2. EVERYTHING...after the AK reveal, it became apparent why Bruce began keeping Babs, Dick, Selina, Tim, Gordon, and to lesser extent, Alfred, as FAR away from the villains as possible...especially, and most importantly, the one afflicting him psychologically at this point in the story.
3. Batman would absolutely do that! Can you even read comics? They are mostly pictures, for fuck’s sake, you couldn’t even form that thought if literacy weren’t in question.
1. That was the commenter’s point...That, despite shit spinning out, there was no ‘moment of clarity’ or ‘grounding’ for Batman, who was quite clearly fighting insanity at this point. Does that make YOU the ‘dummy’ you tried to make him out to be?
*The difference in feel is likely due to the decision NOT to go with Paul Dini for writing for Arkham Knight....he is not only responsible for the ground floor of the DCAU, but also scribed MOST of our Kevin Conroy/Mark Hamill stories, and the first 2 Arkham games.
That decision probably had a larger effect on that story than we would hope....

I feel like they didn’t know what to do with hush. But knew that fans would get mad if he wasn’t in the final game, so they just threw him in there.
That's sort of how I felt about it. Honestly, I would understand it a little more if it was a plot point set up by WB games Montreal in Arkham Origins, like how they paid off the Firefly stuff in Arkham Knight in some ways. But somehow, they do a more genuine job with Firefly than they do with Hush... and they wrote hush in Arkham City.
Much of Hush and Pyg stories in the Arkhamverse were the same.

I would’ve liked this, and have side missions where you investigate criminals deaths leading up to investigating black masks murder, and discovering Jason’s alive, after the panessa studios flash backs is when the mission would become available. Thus the DLC for red hood would occur the night before Arkham Knight, with Hush as the Arkham Knight and the scarecrow taking the center stage. The ending would feature Batman’s unmasking, with 4 goons with their guns at oracles, robins, and Gordon’s heads. The red hood would still save batman after the fact (with or without the help of azrael depending upon player choice). The knightfall protocol would feature Bruce’s death and azrael becoming batman, if you bought the dlc then your choice between letting ra’s live or not would affect who azrael would fight, the goons you see in the original cutscene or ra’s al ghul’s assassin’s. What do y’all think?
He could have like revealed his face to the public and make everyone believe Bruce Wayne is evil which would have been a good problem for the bat family to solve
The arkham Knight could have been a reveal later...he could have stolen Bruce's "beyond" suit and become the arkham Knight half way through. Arkham games normally do the half aay through reveal thing anyway
Think a proper bat cave would have been nice. Imagine seeing your collectibles or information on crimes there. Maybe you could solve random murders there like a detective and work on projects or change how your gadgets worked. I think it’d be so cool

Deathstroke boss idea:
You start with the same tank battle, but when he jumps out he catches Batman and the two land on a rooftop. Then they fight ( deathstroke would kinda be a combination of the assassins= multi parry attacks, And Black mask= dodgable rifle attacks). In the last phase, he'd take a sniping position and Batman would have to stealth takedown him, ending the fight.
Like this Deathstroke could still say that Bats caught him off guard.
( Also it simulates that D. And B. are equal in hand to hand)

It would have been a lot better if Hush WAS the Arkham knight, and this was somehow tied into his plan in Arkham City. The visual shock of seeing Bruce's face beneath the mask would have been awesome...allowing players to instantly realise who it actually is.

They could have instead have had the cloudburst be used at the end of the game and Scarecrow gets the upperhand and we get this epic battle against him in middle of the city in some trippy nightmare sequence. That's where he would get the upper hand and we can all do the identity reveal and Jason coming in saving the day or maybe thats when Poison Ivy does her thing to help. I don't know anything but surrendering lol Literally could have had the same story beats just get rid of the surrendering part for cool scarecrow part.
Yeah I think that was one of the biggest flaws of the Arkham Knight Story: no red herrings. It’s such an underwritten mystery. The games story never provides any potential Arkham Knight identities or had Batman try to use his detective skills to work out who the Arkham Knight was.

I would have the Batmobile not have its tank feature, and just be a car. No tanks in the game whatsoever. I'd also have the Riddler missions and trophies be halved so its not such a stretch to get the ending. I'd also much prefer the Bat family to be more featured and have nightwing be in the story a lot. Another thing I'd change is the arkham knight's identity to maybe someone like Hush, Ra's Al Ghul or Anarky. They made it too obvious that Jason was gonna be the arkham knight. I also really wish the bosses were better and not just a batmobile chase or a *tank fight leading into a 1 hit K.O*

A really cool mechanic that I think could have been used is having fear toxin be used in combat. Say if one of the enemies hits you with the toxin, the visuals change somehow, maybe there’s hallucinations about new enemies appearing that technically aren’t there or the enemies that are there get powered up.

As for the Joker twist that's not how scarecrows Gas Works and plus it just a convenient way to get Joker in the game even though they killed them off in Arkham City plus he takes away the spotlight from other villains.
Adam Dunne Vehicles / gadgets should always be an extension of Batman, never a replacement. The fact that the Bat Tank was required for everything was ridiculous. Not to mention especially against Deathstroke...abysmal. Joker was already used for 2 full games. The emotional impact of his death in Batman: Arkham City was completed undermined by bringing him back in Arkham Knight. Especially with him cracking jokes...
the batmobile is ok as long as its not a tank and we dont have to use it 70% of the game.

I heard the following idea in a video which I thought was pretty cool:
After batman stops those guys in the GCPD roof when the building is under attack, Prometheus and a bunch of soliders come in and you have a boss battle with him.
It makes sense since his character hates cops.

There's a mystery throughout Arkham Asylum that reveals Sharp thinks he's possessed by the founder o Arkham and in City it's shown these delusions were in part caused by Hugo Strange drugging and manipulating him. It wouldn't be hard to buy that Sharp finally just completely goes insane after all he's been through and assumes an identity named the Arkham Knight in order to destroy Gotham, believing it to be infected with sickness, and Batman being the worst.

I like this idea and thought of it myself. Less out of a joke or anger though but more because batman needs an arch enemy when joker dies. The narrative would I imagine follow similar ones where Alfred is the joker.

I think Azrael should have stayed a side mission and if you complete the side mission before a certain part of the game he becomes batman and moves into the main story. But if you don't and move forward into the story he's a villain and becomes part of the main story.
I actually rewrote the entire story and central plot of the games story I’m going to put my version ( warning very long)
So the game opens with the same cutscene it shows the joker getting cremated and the whole diner scene happening then hush wearing a scarecrow mask sprays fear toxin at the cop then the whole monologue happens then the game continues like the original then you go to ace chemicals to stop Scarecrow then you meet the Arkham knight who says the same stuff “we know how you think”but this time you don’t use the bat mobile to fight at ace chemicals cause Hush tied civilians onto his tanks so you can’t use the bat mobile cause of his no killing rule. then you get to scarecrow he escapes you get sprayed with toxin and then the joker appears and as your walking out of ace chemicals the place starts to change into Arkham Asylum then the joker pulls out his Titan gun and becomes Titan joker than you fight him as a giant scarecrow is hovering over you then after you beat him you get outside and Oracle is taken by hush and you follow dna (without the tank) to find her then scarecrow tells you I’m building a device to engulf the entire city in fear gas he tells Batman to bring him Croc and he will not engulf the city so Batman calls nightwing to find croc you do but he doesn’t want to follow you so you have to chase him down then you fight killer croc and you bring him to scarecrow at Stagg airships. Then he begins to torture croc with his toxin and after that you find out about the cloudburst and while that’s happening joker is following you throughout the game like in the original and when you get to the part with 2 scarecrows hush is dressed up as scarecrow while the real one is hiding so you grab hush then scarecrow sprays you then another nightmare happens this time your in the movie theater in Arkham city where you fought clayface and you fight him with scarecrow watching from above then after that Hush activates the cloudburst and the city is engulfed in toxin then you have to find poison ivys plants and then fight Hush in the cloudburst but this time when you destroy hush’s tank he jumps out then you grab him and it’s revealed to be joker then poison ivy dies as the toxin is gone then you go to the HQ where you rescue Gordon then you fight the Arkham knight toe to toe (like the death stroke fight) then after you beat him he reveals his identity to Wayne and he’s shocked then Hush escapes and you go to the roof and save Oracle then you head back to the GCPD and then you fight the calvacade of tanks then it’s revealed that scarecrow kidnapped all the members of the bat family oracle(again) robin nightwing and red hood and Gordon then Batman has to go and save them scarecrow tells Batman to go to the truck then they arrive at Arkham Asylum and the door opens and Two face penguin Harley Quinn riddler and scarecrow all have guns pointed at him then he gets on the gurney and the batfamily is getting tortured then Hush appears and gets a camera ready to reveal who he is then hush gets the camera ready and he comes out as Bruce Wayne and talks to the people of Gotham then scarecrow comes on the screen and Hugging hush to say Bruce was bad the whole time so now everyone hates Wayne but then right at that moment Azrael appears and saves Batman then you fight the villains then you have to reveal your identity to save your character to tell them I’m the real Bruce Wayne but Hush keeps saying he’s a liar so you fight Hush again then scarecrow reveals there’s one more guy he hired then it’s revealed that the joker who was following you the whole game was CLAYFACE then you fight him again then scarecrow gives you his final dose of toxin then the game crashes and the game starts up again back at the beginning but everyone is now a bad guy then you wake up in the nightmare land and you finally fight scarecrow himself in the nightmare then after you beat him you give him a taste of his own medicine and he sees killer croc running at him he screams in fear you knock him out thank Azrael for being a great help you arrest all the criminals then there’s one thing left to do tell the truth. Then you tell the people I’m the real Bruce Wayne and that was a fake one then you do the knightfall protocol everyone thinks Bruce is now dead but in reality he’s still here as Batman

I know there are some timeline issues with this but setting the events of Arkham Knight years after rather than months could be a viable option

Instead of having the flashbacks of Jason so early. I was thinking that when jason confronted batman, they would do that boss battle without batman knowing he was jason. Then when batman was punching him on the floor jason's mask would come of then all the flash backs of jason would appear
That would have been fun. Jason flashbacks, some piece of evidence pointing to the Arkham Knight being some other random dude, then the ultimate reveal, as Batman pummels what he thinks is just another villain when it’s really Jason.

I just feel like in general, they should've leaned a little heavier into the idea of batman fighting his biggest mistakes and having him be the ultimate underdog. They did have jason and Barbara flashbacks, but have more flashbacks to batman's greatest failures, like the other games and deaths from those games like flashbacks to talia, joker or alfred from origins. And make arkham knight better prepared for batman and make batman look a little weaker in certain points to make us think batman is giving up and he cannot compete with his enemies but preserves in the end. Just my opinion, but the game would've been better if they dove a little more into these ideas.
And I always thought, how cool would it be is hush took over the city and started framing Bruce for his crimes after the reveal of Bruce's identity and have hush be the true ending. He had so much potential they could've used in AK as well...
One of the best games on PS4 and easily one of the best series in gaming history.
So I have come to the conclusion that this is ur favorite Arkham game. (Yes, yes, I’m a genius, I know,) which is cool to have other opinions but I have never seen Arkham Knight at the top of someone’s list. My favorite is Arkham City. (Like most.)

I actually put a lot of thought into a superior conclusion to the final mission of the Militia side quests:
It is clear that there was another base the militia were operating out of; after taking the tunnels and the mall the militia don't come back, and of course the guy whose piloting the tanks has to be somewhere, not to mention the tanks they keep to deploy later, which at a presumption, since we never find it, must be outside the city.
My idea is that after taking out the last checkpoint/watchtower/bomb (whichever one you finish last) Alfred or Oracle calls you to announce that they had discovered the location of this base, and you go to grand avenue so that the Batwing can pick you up, and take you to this base, where you first have to take out the last of their tanks (yes, one last tank battle) but then you get out and try to infiltrate the base, giving another predator thing, before finding the main barracks where you have one last brawl, before Slade finally appears, and you get a proper fight, even if it is just a clone of the fight from Origins, it'd be cool.
I always loved the idea of Talia being the Arkham Knight. Would have been another way for Scarecrow to manipulate Bruce and show his guilt for not saving her in City.
I kind of like that the Arkham Knight is Jason, mostly because I can use it as an excuse to call Red Hood the Arkham Knight in the sense that Batman is the Dark Knight.

I agree with basically everything in this video. I just wanted to add my disappointment with how the Bat-Family was used. In the trailers they showed us a shot of Robin and Nightwing behind Batman on a rooftop. I was super excited because I thought they were going to be critical to the story. Obviously they weren’t but when Batman needed them the most, he kept pushing them away. Why would Batman even need them in the series at all if he would just rather work alone in the most critical of times? I understand that Batman has always preferred to work alone but Robin and Nightwing were largely involved in other media like in The New Adventures and Knightfall before Batman’s back was broken by Bane. Instead of just giving up, Robin and Nightwing could have helped Batman against Scarecrow at the end. I think Nightwing should’ve tracked Batman to the Asylum or at least have Alfred tell him what Batman was gonna do. I could probably keep going but I’ll end it there.

Bring back Bane, better fight with him than their previous games. He was great in Origins, Arkham Knight still should've been Talia having flipped out over Arkham City. Maybe bring back Deadshot, Copperhead, and Deathstroke as the main officers, in charge of the troops. A little more with Two Face and Harley Quinn as well as Black Mask. No Joker.
Like with your idea for Knightfall and Azrael taking over - I feel it would have been awesome to implement a mechanic where you choose your successor - between Azrael, Nightwing, Robin etc

One cool concept I would love if they had done was mixing Phantom Pain gameplay options were you choose what to bring, suit and different aproches to the same obj. like takin over a base, there you can do it stealth or guns blasing. Imagine a batman game where u have different suits like one is more steath but u die fast and other for more head on fights

Going along with the “the Arkham knight is just some guy” idea, I feel for the ending of the game somehow scarecrow finds out Batman is Bruce Wayne. Scarecrow then gets some Lazarus from Ras al ghūl (because in my hypothetical situation Ras gave scarecrow the army to destroy Gotham, so they are kinda best buds) and goes to Wayne manor to resurrect Bruce’s parents so he can really screw Bruce up and bring out his worst fears. Batman goes to confront scarecrow and they have a boss battle that reminisces back to the Arkham asylum scarecrow encounters. They fight over the tube of Lazarus and it ends up falling and breaking on a patch of grass. Now, instead of the fear toxin Batman end-credit scene, the credits cut to the broken glass tube and then pan up to show that it landed on Jason Todd’s grave. Then a hand pops out of the grass and then it cuts to black. Now I know this isn’t great but I think it’s wayyyy better than the “without the belt their is no Batman ending.”
That was a really cool scenario you set up! I could really visualize the scene of the lazarus liquid leaking on top and into jason's grave. The only problem is how would it even get through his casket? Lol either it's that corrosive or jason is buried without a casket. In that case there might be nothing left. Anyways cool idea dude!

Another thing they could've done with Azrael is have the locations of burning bat symbols become switch points between Batman, Azrael and different characters. That's if you pick to not kill him and complete the main story. (Basixally unlock Azrael as a switchable character, with other characters you dont need to do that option, Azrael is just a exclusive to the choice)
Kinda like city where after the story you can go to certain spots to switch to said character.

There should’ve been more Batfamily side missions, and solo Batfamily side missions, imagine if the ice truck missions were just with Nightwing, or having Azrael take out certain militia groups or Tim is investigating Pyg, have them do things that in the world would allow Batman to put his full attention on the Arkham Knight
Honestly, they could have used Prometheus instead of the Arkham Knight. They had already established him as a character in the series through a riddle in Arkham Asylum and he is the literal definition of an 'anti-Batman', which is what they wanted to do with the Arkham Knight. I really like Red Hood and Jason Todd as a character in the DC comics, but if I was on the writing team, I would have definitely made use of Prometheus. Another way to incorporate Jason would be to just make him the Red Hood and kinda follow the plot of Batman: Under the Red Hood, where he is trying to be a better Batman than Batman himself. Then it would be a 3-way fight between Scarecrow, Batman and the Red Hood.
Still couldnt believe there was no end game fight with scarecrow. City is still my fav.

If I could change the story, I would make Prometheus the AK and have him work with Scarecrow, Deathstroke, and the militia. Jason Todd will still be there, but as the Red Hood instead. He would be the anti-hero that helps Batman occasionally, but eventually fights him to due their moral disagreement about killing. Having Jason be an anti-hero instead would make him saving Batman from Scarecrow at the end feel more earned compared to the original.
I would also try to give Tim and Dick more to do in this story. Maybe have them deal with Harley Quinn while Batman is busy with the militia. Once Harley is dealt with have them try to save Batman while he's cornered by the AK and the militia, like Catwoman did in AC after her side story finished. Jason could join in too so you could have Batman and the 3 Robins in the same scene together.
That combat scene at the beginning of the video is really infuriating in Knightmare mode.

I do think it could be interesting if Hush had a hatred for the Waynes all together due to Thomas Wayne saving his father. And since Thomas Wayne is Dead already, he planned to kill Bruce destroying the Wayne name forever as revenge. Also Hush in the comics knew Batman’s identity, he was smart which made him more interesting. Though I’ve never liked that his motivation is just greed.

Here's the thing with Red Hood right, in every carnation of him, made him come back as a new villain and then later on we find out that Jason is Red Hood. So if you want to have Jason in your game you have to make him a "plot twist" and there was no way they could do that with Red Hood so they made him the Arkham Knight.

Have him be grown up enough to fight hand to hand with Batman, have the fight between them be the a great fusion of the Ra's al ghul fight from city and the deathstroke fight from origins.
Have his Motivation be doing what his farther and grandfather couldn't eliminating all crime and corruption in the world.
Never had an issue with it being Jason. In my mind Batman figures it out almost right away, but refuses to acknowledge it until teaming up with Tim. Even then he tries to convince himself it's just the joker messing with him.
Say what you want about Arkham Knight but you have admit the gameplay is absolutely is fun

Hush being the Arkham Knight would have been perfect. Scarecrow and Hush as the main villains represent perfectly a final dichotomy for Batman to go up against. Scarecrow hates and wants to destroy Batman. Hush hates and wants to destroy Bruce Wayne.

Honestly I think jason being the arkham knight made sense but he should've been built up more than a throwaway line in the first game. Who else would've been able to fit the bill? He knows EVERYTHING about batman. He knew about Oracle, all of his tactics, all of his gadgets, the only reason it was so bad was because he wasnt built up enough I feel

Damien Wayne or a version of Bruce's son should have been the Knight (Think back to the night in metropolis Talia and Bruce spent mentioned in City).
And I'm one of those that does think Arkham Knight is a new character not Jason Todd. It's not like saying Red Hood was just the same character as the second Robin when they did it in the comics?
I think everyone just guessed it and Rocksteady wanted to think they could fool all the people that go out if their way to guess (ruin plotlines)
Also ditch the tank battles. Batmobile could be used like Firefly and the APC (yeah they shouldn't have been as many either but the chasing feels more like Batmobile gameplay).

I'm late to this party, BUT i love this game, it's story, scary moments, side missions... Maybe this opinion is unpopular, itd. I truly love AK and i actually cried at the end of the game when Bruce lost everything to save the city and it's people.
What Rocksteady should've done in Batman: Arkham Knight was combine the Batman: Arkham Trilogy with the Mass Effect Trilogy in terms of having Batman talk with his Family throughout the game at certain points which could determine the final confrontation with Scarecrow. Once the GCPD is under attack Batman can fight alongside the Bat Family (depending on those who were recruited) and players can switch between them and perform double takedown maneuvers (except for Azrael since he doesn't know the Bat Family and Catwoman can't take down the brutes). Before going to confront Scarecrow, Alfred informs Batman he must bring his Family into the fight but naturally he's reluctant to do so and it is here the player makes the ultimate decision on whether Batman should fight alone or bring his Family (and if Batman decides to fight alone but had recruited the Family earlier, they will still come with or without Batman's approval). Here's what I had in mind for having the conversations with his Family (if you chose differently than Bruce did):
Alfred Pennyworth-
Recruitment Opportunity: While talking to Alfred, Joker’s face unexpectedly appears after visiting Ace Chemicals and Batman has the option to tell him about seeing the Joker.
Result: If Alfred is informed he offers Batman wisdom and XP as seen in Batman: Arkham Origins (aside from selecting gadgets, there's an option to talk with Alfred) and also reminds him the Joker is dead and because of his exposure to Scarecrow's fear gas at Ace Chemicals means he's letting the fear cloud his judgment and must ignore the hallucinations. As a result Joker won't appear as often while in Gotham City and is only seen at the Cyrus Pinkney Orphanage, GCPD, Panessa Studios, and cutscenes. He will also inform the Family knowing Bruce would be foolish into not telling them around the time Batman visits the Panessa Studios after the GCPD assault.
In terms of Batman's allies, it depends on whether or not the side missions involving them are completed before the final confrontation otherwise they will be left out and end like it did in the game. Once their missions are done, the player could then decide if Batman should recruit them for the final confrontation or not (and as seen in Arkham City there would be certain areas where the player could switch between characters to explore the city but they won't participate in the main walkthrough, the side missions, or even drive the Batmobile). (Note: If his allies are recruited, some predator rooms during the game would have fewer enemies since they took a hit from the Bat Family and will have comments on each of them, except for the Arkham Knight’s militia since that task belongs to Batman alone)
Azrael (Michael Lane)-
Recruitment Opportunity: Upon completing the Heir to the Cowl side mission the player must decide to either try to kill Batman, break the sword, or walk away (Note: If the player chooses to walk away then Azrael will not participate, while trying to kill Batman ends like it did in the game)
Result: He states while the Order of St. Dumas has to answer for what they did to him, he decides that can wait since Batman needs all the help he can get and considers it an honor to fight alongside the Dark Knight.
Predator Room Commentaries: The criminals are unfamiliar with Azrael and think he's some Templar knight or assassin (Assassin's Creed references).
Location in the GCPD: Viewing the cell containing Batman's rogues gallery (Two Face, Penguin, Riddler, etc)
Catwoman (Selina Kyle)-
Recruitment Opportunity: Once she has Riddler's explosive collar removed during the Riddler’s Revenge side mission and they're outside the orphanage.
Result: She'll act like she's not interested and would rather hit an art gallery or two, but will actually join in the confrontation (she's vital since she provides Oracle information regarding Scarecrow's location at Arkham Asylum since Selina tried to spy on Crane prior to the start of the game but was spotted by a drone according to her story after solving a riddle).
Predator Room Commentaries: Every criminal in Gotham City now know Catwoman's an ally of Batman and next time they see her, take out all of her nine lives.
Location in the GCPD: The GCPD Trophy Room
Romance Opportunity: The only chance to develop a romance with Selina Kyle would be after defeating the Riddler for the last time and she tells Batman to "be a good damsel and bestow a kiss on your gallant hero." Note: There's a limited time window to return her kiss, otherwise their relationship may end depending on whether or not she was recruited earlier. As for her location within the GCPD Trophy Room the following results with the room's contents and the guards standing outside depends on the options regarding the choice to Selina's recruitment and commitment to a relationship:
Option 1 (Worst): If the player doesn't recruit Catwoman nor kiss her, Selina will not participate in the confrontation and Scarecrow's location is provided anonymously by which is later revealed to be Red Hood.
GCPD Trophy Room: Both guards are incapacitated and a few items are missing.
Option 2 (Bad): If she is recruited but Batman doesn't kiss her, she's annoyed by Bruce being so damn stubborn but will still help though afterwards she leaves to be on her own.
GCPD Trophy Room: The guards remain at their post but one or two items are missing and the items pertaining to Talia al Ghul are destroyed.
Option 3 (Undecided): Both Batman and Catwoman will continue their traditional flirtatious relationship but Selina won't participate in the fight with Scarecrow nor join the Family afterwards if Bruce gives Selina her kiss yet not recruit her.
GCPD Trophy Room: The result is the same as the Bad option though Selina leaves behind her calling card.
Option 4 (Best): If the player recruits Catwoman and Batman kisses her, she will be officially included into the Bat-Family after the events of Arkham Knight and enter into a relationship.
Result: Not only does Batman give Catwoman a passionate kiss she wasn't expecting but he will speak exactly the opposite on what he said in Arkham Knight (in terms of Gotham needs "something worse to defend her" and essentially admitting his feelings for her). Their conversation is brief but romantic (since they share another kiss) and ends when he walks to the Batmobile and she tells him "call if you need me," and he replies with "I will."
GCPD Trophy Room: The guards are gone since Catwoman appears to be trustworthy and she doesn't take anything, though she does tell Batman of how unlike him and the rest of his Family even she could see that Talia never had feelings for him and practically played him for a fool which is something she would never do. Despite his disbelief Selina tells him while she may not be a World's Greatest Detective even she could see through Talia's deception and eventually Bruce realizes what Catwoman said is true (even the Joker hallucination flat out told him of Talia's unhealthy obsession with her "beloved").
Nightwing (Richard ‘Dick’ Grayson)-
Recruitment Opportunity: Upon completion on capturing the Penguin in the GunRunner side mission
Result: Dick Grayson is surprised Bruce is actually asking for help given Batman had never done so in the past when he was Robin but accepts the offer and will do his part.
Predator Room Commentaries: Several criminals question why is Nightwing in Gotham City when he's supposed to be in Bludhaven, resulting in some of them explaining he was the original Robin so it's no surprise that he would be in Gotham helping the Dark Knight.
Location in the GCPD: Near the cells after entering the GCPD
Oracle (Barbara Gordon)-
Recruitment Opportunity: Unnecessary since she’s already part of the walkthrough.
Result: If Azrael, Catwoman, Nightwing and Robin are recruited and Alfred is informed on Joker messing with Batman’s mind they will infiltrate Arkham Asylum to rescue Batman and the hostages from Scarecrow. During the final battle Robin and Catwoman work to disable communications and giving Oracle the means to jam the signal preventing Batman’s unmasking being broadcasted to the world while Nightwing and Azrael work to neutralize the remaining militia (Jason, now the Red Hood secretly helps them from behind the scenes and only Barbara knows about it).
Location in the GCPD: As seen in the game
Robin (Tim Drake)-
Recruitment: Even though Tim Drake gets locked into a cell at the Panessa Studios, once Oracle is rescued by Batman this would be the only opportunity to go back to the studio and release Robin (though he's still pissed off at Batman for locking him up earlier) before Batman heads for Oracle’s clock tower and Scarecrow launches an attack on the GCPD.
Result: Initially Robin will refuse to say anything to Bruce but after he is told Barbara is alive, he is willing to forgive Batman and will help him defeat Scarecrow and then heads over to the GCPD to see her (but adds they will have a 'talk' about Bruce deciding what's best for everyone after Scarecrow has been defeated). (Note: If Robin is recruited he will not be taken hostage by Scarecrow during the assault on the GCPD, Aaron Cash and Vicki Vale gets taken hostage after being called on false leads and they have to be rescued during the final confrontation)
Predator Room Commentaries: Robin is the only one that will have few commentaries because he spent the majority of the game locked in a cell at the Panessa Studios.
Location in the GCPD: With Oracle

During the sequence when Scarecrow forces Batman to surrender in order to save Gordon and the hostages (Aaron Cash and Vicki Vale if Robin was recruited prior to the GCPD attack or Robin if he wasn’t) aside from having to lose his utility belt, Batman is contacted by Alfred who tells him he must call for his Family to assist him but Bruce tells him he can’t because he doesn’t want any harm to come to them. Alfred then reminds Batman of what he once told him Batman: Arkham Origins “it is time that you realize you’re a man, not an island. And a man is defined not by his brawn or intellect but through the strength of his allies.” The sequences vary if the Family were invited prior to this point (Robin as well) and the players must decide if Batman should bring the Family into the fight or not:
A. If Batman finally admits that he has to defeat Scarecrow and protect Gotham City but can’t do it alone, he allows Alfred to call the Family and to track his signal for them to find him and back him up (Batman has a locator beacon hidden in his cowl):
a. After Batman “kills” the Joker the scene switches to the GCPD instead of the Arkham Asylum Mansion where the Bat Family figures on where Batman is (they’re able to track him for a while but lose the signal) though Catwoman explains that Scarecrow’s base of operations is at Arkham Asylum and have increased security after her last visit (however if Selina wasn't recruited an anonymous tip provides them the information). Given the Asylum’s now a fortress they'll have to figure out how are they going to get onto the island to rescue Batman and the hostages without drawing attention. A short while later they receive intel from an anonymous tip that explains Scarecrow plans to have Batman unmasked and broadcast to the world showing Batman’s only a man in a mask and have him injected with a massive dose of Fear toxin to show if even Batman succumbs to fear then no one is safe (Barbara figures out that it’s Jason but doesn’t tell the others until later). The Intel also includes a means of utilizing the Trojan horse tactic of infiltrating the island using a militia APC that is scheduled to return from patrol but never reached its destination and provided a cover story to explain the reason for late arrival (maintenance issues). Oracle figures the best option after getting onto Arkham Island is to split into two teams having both Robin and Catwoman disable the militia’s communications so they can’t call for backup and allowing Barbara to jam the signal to stop the broadcast (predator mission) while Nightwing and Azrael work on neutralizing the remaining militia (combat mission) before the Family can then get to Scarecrow and rescue Batman. During both missions Jason will provide sniper support taking down the militia (during the predator missions if Robin and Catwoman gets spotted and while Nightwing and Azrael fight the soldiers) leaving both teams confused as to whose their guardian angel and only Barbara knows but keeps her mouth shut and only reveals the truth after the events of the game.
b. Players can then decide which task to focus on first but either way results in the same conclusion: the remaining militia are taken out and the broadcast signal is jammed, but it depends if the side missions that involved taking down the militia and defeating Deathstroke were completed beforehand. By completing the side missions involving the militia it eliminates certain enemy types the Family don’t have to deal with (leaving only the basic soldiers), otherwise it’ll make their jobs more complicated:
i. Armored and Dangerous: Rattler Drones (in the event the side mission hasn’t been completed, players must access computer terminals in order to shut them down)
ii. Occupy Gotham: Militia drones and militia soldiers wearing stealth technology
iii. Own The Roads: Militia Brutes and medics
iv. Deathstroke: Players must answer a serious of 5 questions from the previous Arkham games in order to bypass security if Slade Wilson hasn’t been dealt with: All correct answers- No one will know the wiser, 3 correct answers- security on moderate alert and will occasionally search certain hiding places, no correct answers- security on high alert and will search every hiding place.
B. Should Batman still maintain his belief he has to save Gotham on his own to protect his Family, Alfred tries arguing with Bruce but gets hanged up on. It’s still the same concept as mentioned above on how it would play out, only the Family knows what Batman is doing is pure suicide since he clearly can’t take Scarecrow all by himself. Alfred then decides to tell the Family there were times that even he disagreed with Batman’s decisions and tells them to use the best strategy: disobey him.

There is one obscure character from the comics who I believe would be perfect for the role of Arkham Knight. I remember prior to the game's release, the Arkham Knight was stated to have no prior interaction with Batman at all, yet had a desire to kill him, and this character perfectly fit that role. For those of you who're curious about the character look up the short story "An Innocent Guy".
One of my favorite games of all time despite its many flaws. Here's what I'd do
- Make some of the side missions longer/more in depth and interesting (depends on the particular mission - the Hush mission could use an entire re-work as it was marvelously disappointing, as was Deathstroke's boss fight)
- Less tank, more predator/combat (I do really enjoy the tank stuff, it was just too prevalent)
- For fuck's sake, make the DLC more than just an excuse for more predator and combat maps. I was hoping for an end to the characters of Riddler, Penguin, and Two Face, but instead got challenge maps in sequential order.
- Don't lock the true ending behind every side mission. Personally, I didn't have a problem as I was going to do every side mission regardless, but I can definitely see others not wanting to do the Riddler stuff, so for that reason it's unfair
- Give a few more character moments after the story. I wanted Batman to really talk to Robin and Gordon after the end of the story (especially Gordon, since he betrayed Batman), but you never see them after the Scarecrow confrontation.
I really liked the story. Of course the Jason Todd thing was a bit predictable if you're a comic book fan, but that doesn't at all make me dislike it, and I loved everything to do with Batman's psyche and the Joker.
The story was the weakest part of the game.

100% agree with everything you guys said and honestly wasn't sure if I would have at first, but I was pleasantly surprised! Along with all those changes, I also personally would have connected the story (or more specifically the arkham knight) to the plot between asylum and city with strange, quincy sharp and ra's al ghul. This would probably be hard but given the villain is the 'arkham' knight, I thought there would be some connection, as a sort of last resort type plan. That and more scarecrow would've been great. Was so happy when he was shown as one of the main villains but so disappointed when he was overshadowed by jason. Would've loved to see him experiment with titan one last time and really tie up all the little plot devices that were made for the arkhamverse.
They really wasted Hush in this game he should have been one of the main villains!
I was just playing the killer croc mission in asylum and the music was playing I looked behind me and thought I hit him with a batarang but the music kept playing then a had a heart attack when he ran around a corner infront of me and missed me by an inch when I hit him with a batarang
Edit: Now he just came from behind me and after he fell off he jumped infront of a wooden caution wall that he broke and ran after I think I shit my pants
Scarecrow would show up with his new ally the arkham knight. He would then start the no man's land and blow up the bridges to Gotham. Meanwhile hush would have taken all the money from Bruce Wayne's Bank and went back to being hush planning to take over Gotham. Eventually hush would get into conflict with scarecrow and after a gang war that's last the mid part of the game, hush would perish at the hands of azriel, who would be stalking you from rooftops like in city. After that Scarecrow tried to start the cloudburst program and Batman tries to stop him. Inbetween the missions Batman would fine more of azriels victims. Eventually Batman would be at ace chemicals ready to stop the program. Arkham knight would then attack and they'd fight. After a fight like Deathstroke in origins Batman would win and the Arkham knight would flee, without revealing his identity. Batman would then shut down the program and be attacked by Scarecrow and would have a sequence like he did in asylum. He would overcome this and take him down. After he'd eventually get a signal from azriel that would tell him to meet in crime alley. Azriel, who believes he is destined to destroy Batman and take his place would attack and the two would have a epic battle, ending with azriel being detained and Batman being burned to death by the soul taker sword. that's my plot for Arkham knight if I could redo it.
