Media History: Early Newspapers & The American Revolution

It's near impossible to imagine the America Revolution without newspapers. An emerging media form in the 1700s, newspapers provided a communication network for news and opinion to flow throughout the disparate British colonies in North America. It was this network of increasingly influential newspaper printers that would, over time, turn against British rule and provide a powerful force for spreading revolutionary fervor and anti-British sentiment.
