Terrific! If you're looking for more folk songs that use 3 or fewer chords, check out this videos page on my website: www.musicalmama.com/two-and-three-chord-songs Happy strumming!
This is a fun one and the melody stuck fast. My wife has been annoyed with how many, "funeral dirge" folk songs I've been learning these days. Maybe the sweet tune of this one will slip it through the door, without her realizing how melodramatic it really is. Also, wow you really broke down this song well in your blog. My kids are young uns now but I am going to use your site and videos to teach them these songs. They already sing along with the crawdad song!
Ha, my sympathies to your wife! So happy to hear you're enjoying my tutorials. If your kids want to jam out with you, you can check out this blog post for a list of no-experience-required kid instruments: www.musicalmama.com/blogposts/2016/12/6/musical-gift-guide-for-children . Egg shakers and resonator bells are my favorite, but tupperware and wooden spoons are good, too. Happy jamming!
Now, that's a sad old song, BUT, I like it! (Why do people like sad old songs ?) ;-) This lesson and the resources you give us here are greatly appreciated. Thank You!
Really could not be happier with your song selections!
Great job. I’m always looking for an easy song to learn song. (I’m 81) A 1,4,5 and a song I’ve heard many times. Thanks a million !!

Thank you!
Why do you not put chords up? Thanks
Hello! I'm confused by your question, because I do show the chords. Please see the video description to jump ahead to specific parts of the video.
