This was my 80th day of yoga and I started in May. I have tried about 8 different instructors on UA-cam. I keep coming back to you for great stretching classes. Thank you
I stay much longer in the poses with your relaxed encouragement than when I do it alone, Thank you ! Also love the guidance to linger with intensity, a great metaphor for life.
Loved how deep these stretches are! The explanations are wonderful too, understanding the poses and learning more about how the body works is so important to me... wish I could make the training in Thailand. Next one though ;] The TOE STRETCH THOUGH!!!
Thanks, fire-log pose is my nemesis (also with a 6mth old puppy climbing over me during it). My right hip has some much stored in it. I concur that Hatha is a harder yoga for the time you spend. After years of "power" vinyasa yoga, I prefer this and yin. Savasana is also the hardest pose, especially spending time at the end with the emotions brought up from Fire log.... thanks again for a great practice.
beautiful practice again, thanks! your dog is so cute - my cat likes to watch me too, and he loves to plop himself down underneath me when I'm in poses like downdog (helpful!)
Loved this practice Candace thank you so much! Adore that romper and your pup was the icing on the cake. My dog, Valentine, is always in the room when I practice and I find she helps me to relax even deeper, much love, namaste 🙏 💖 💖 💖 💖
I love this video. Can you do more like this with slow stretching sequences. I love practices like this when I'm not in the mood for a vinyasa, but want something with minimal props :)
Hi Candace; First off, thank you SO much for your videos! I just found you, and I am absolutely loving your style and your clear, simple direction. I'm fairly new to yoga, and I don't even need to crane my neck to see you! Your instructions are enough, and I only need to look up to check my form! Quickly, there is NO WAY I can get myself into "fire log" pose. Could you tell me what areas I should focus on to be able to get my legs into that position? ie: what areas could be restricting my body, and can I focus on opening those to facilitate this pose? (Not sure if you can tell me that without knowing a thing about my body!) Also, could you suggest an alternate pose that I could try until I can get closer to fire log? Thanks so much!
Hi Jessica, thanks for the kind words. Yeah it's hard to say for sure without seeing you try to get into it. Is it just that your top leg's knee rests very high? If so, just stay there, that's ok, and with time and practice it'll eventually come down as your hips open up. I'd also suggest searching 'yogabycandace hip opening' and just doing a bunch of those videos. Be patient, and practice often, and eventually they'll open up :)
Yoga by Candace Hi Candace! Thanks so much for your prompt and thoughtful reply! The issue for me with the firelog pose is I’m having difficulty getting my top leg far enough over the other leg to have my ankle contact my thigh. My sitting bone on the top leg comes right up off of the floor, and it’s almost too painful to justify getting into. However last night I tried this pose again and I was able to get the top leg all the way over the bottom leg so that the side/bottom of my top foot rests on the floor. After that, I could manipulate myself the way you did by adjusting using my arms, so that my sitting bones were both on the floor. There is considerable resistance with this, but not actual pain. I guess this is “my” firelog pose right now! I have never been able to comfortably cross my legs. Even as a child. I was born with my legs turning in and my feet wrapped around one another, so that my hips have always been a little less open than most, though it hasn’t affected the way I walk. Anyhow, I’m here picturing you trying to picture me trying to get into this pose and it’s making me laugh. I love that yoga doesn’t have to be a serious venture every time. Have a great day! Thanks again!

Hi Candace - placing my ankle on the knee in the fire log pose is really painful, but not because of the stretch but because the weight of my foot (!) is causing pain to the flesh of my other leg. Who would have thought my ankles are so heavy lol! So I need to put sth between my ankle and knee. Is this okay or do you have any advice on this? Many thanks and thanks for all the videos.
My advice would be to just keep focusing on opening up the hips, and avoiding the fire log pose until your hips (especially your psoas) is more open. The tightness is likely what's causing the pain.
Hey Tammy, yin is super super slow with props. Like you'd stay in each pose for 3+ minutes. If you're looking for more movement, look for a vinyasa class. Here's more info if you need: www.yogabycandace.com/blog/2016/3/21/the-number-one-complaint
I guess yoga isn't too stupid ;) ....Although it's kind of intimate and I bet having a screechy annoying voice leading you through this would be painful! This is just perfect for my wife and I. Thanks

I really like your videos! But i think i love your dog ;).. Keep it up Candace:)
can you make a yoga calendar like pdf calendar so we all can practice yoga on days

Once again hooking us up with a great yoga sesh. Thank you, Candace and chill ass Buckles!
Amazing session - I feel like jelly, but in a good way. Thank you Candace.
RIP those 2 minutes we missed out on
-the time police
may they RIP hahahahha
God, fire log pose is making me angry! It is so uncomfortable! Thank you so much for this practice, it was fantastic! Namasté!
Hahha, it tends to do that!!! :)
5 years later, I can say that firelog pose is making me less angry! Yay! 🎉
Loved the practice,Candace, but it felt more yin like than hatha. From the video title, I expected more movement, not long holds.

Hahah 'I guess yoga isn't too stupid' is probably my favorite comment I've seen today. Glad you and your wife enjoyed!
I wish I could pet Buckles.
