    Yesterday I bought a tree like this , I've always had a real tree before and the kids used to decorte it. Today I started putting the tree up, wow, what a mess, I quickly drove to the shop to take a photo of how the shop had put it up, back home I was no wiser, started from the top on a chair , then I thought to see what's on UA-cam , and Lo and behold here you were Kim, now I'll take my tree apart and start from the bottom.
    Many thanks from a 73 year young one 🤣😂😅

    Excellent video! Thank you! I've been doing it all wrong for decades, no wonder I dread putting up my tree every year, and I only put up a little 4 foot cashmere tree, which is already pretty fluffy. Lol You were awesome and your instructions were on point. I just spent 2 hours watching instructional videos and nobody, at least of the videos I chose, actually said, "2 to the side, 1 up". They either said nothing and demonstrated only, or didn't have good verbal instruction. You are amazing. I'm going to fluff my tree now! (the right way.)

    I just don’t like how my tree’s needles have flattened out or crinkled up.
    Do you have any tips for that?

    • @VeryMerryKim
      @VeryMerryKim  Рік тому +1

      Sometimes a more expensive tree won't have that problem, which isn't much help I know 🙁 And a "cashmere" style Christmas tree will have stiffer/fluffier bristles. The best tip for your existing tree would be to make sure you're super careful when you put it away, smoothing everything as best you can to prevent crinkled branches. Sorry I'm not much help there!

    • @VeryMerryKim
      @VeryMerryKim  Рік тому +3

      Yep! The only difference is you'll have cords, so you just have to pay attention that you're not looping branches through them or something. I've found it's pretty much the same as a non-lit though.

  • @disclosed1
    @disclosed1 Рік тому +2

    Do you have a video on how you mounted your tree on a dolly?

    • @VeryMerryKim
      @VeryMerryKim  Рік тому +3

      I don't 🙁 I can make a UA-cam Short, if that would help. It's SUPER simple though. I just set it right on top of the platform on the dolly. I don't secure it or anything.

    Just found your channel. Was wondering what you'd recommend for ornaments on the tree. Especially for kids

    • @VeryMerryKim
      @VeryMerryKim  Рік тому +2

      Shatterproof for sure, if you want the traditional Christmas balls. You should be safe if you keep things plastic instead of glass. And honestly, if you wire things to your tree, instead of using regular hooks, things won't fall off. I talk about it in my ornament video: ua-cam.com/video/RofVv4Iorto/v-deo.html Hope that helps!

    Could you expand on the angle that you bend the branches and if that changes as you get closer to the front of the tree? Do you go more up down in the back and then forward as you get closer or stay up and down?

    • @VeryMerryKim
      @VeryMerryKim  11 місяців тому +3

      I think I do bring them a little more forward as I go out. I just try to make them look as natural as possible on the far ends of the branches.

    Is it easier for pre lit trees to plug in your lights before you shape it?

    • @VeryMerryKim
      @VeryMerryKim  10 місяців тому

      That'll depend on the person. For some, it's easier to see unfluffed spots with lights on, for others it'll be easier with them off. I fluff with lights on because it can be easier to get to the plugs if it's the kind of tree where you have to plug the sections into each other.

    • @VeryMerryKim
      @VeryMerryKim  Рік тому +1

      That's why I say the two up and one out is where I start. After I do a branch I move things around until it looks how I like. Sometimes that means I angle one down. Try not to overthink. I promise your tree will be beautiful!

    • @VeryMerryKim
      @VeryMerryKim  Рік тому +2

      If I'm attaching them up against the tree, I might floof some, but only to the side. Like two out, one up, but no up. If I'm leaving the branches down, then I'd floof normally. It'll help the tree look fuller.
