Heeey! I hope you enjoy today's video! Here's another idea to add to our coaster series! Let me know what should I try making into coasters next! 😍😍 Written Pattern on Etsy now available: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1445258021/succulent-plant-pot-coaster-set-crochet
Maybe something with more dangly leaves like string of pearls or something that looks like food like a fruit bowl, or a smoothie bowl? Maybe you can try a glass shape/container to store a bigger coaster that people can use under pots or serving dishes? So many ideas, I love your work ❤️
If anyone is interested in making this with 4 weight yarn, here's what I did: I made these with 4 weight yarn and a 4.5mm hook. I started with 12DC, increased accordingly (24dc, 36dc) I did the leaves the same as the tutorial since it was a multiple of 6. The result was almost the exact same size as the tutorial. The only difference is it had 8 petals instead of 10.
I used DK weight acrylic yarn. The coasters turned out perfectly, but the pot didn’t. So I made the pot out of cotton yarn and am having trouble getting the coasters to stay in the pot. Is it because the acrylic is too slippery?
I don't personally like working with the "magic ring" technique (it seems to mess with my tension), so I did some experiments and discovered that a ch5 loop works pretty well (in case anyone else needs it :) )
My mom is a gardener, but she doesn't want flower decor so I love that you made this succulent plant version. I am making this one for her. I am going to make the flower one for my stepmom. She is totally into flowers.
Your reel popped up on Instagram, and I ran to my mum showing her how cute it was. We've bonded over succulents the last few years, and my mum used to crochet when I was a little kid. I've been trying to encourage her to pick it up again because I think it was a good hobby for her. And I think this might have helped. She asked me if there was a tutorial, looked it up, found this video, and I really hope she'll try this!! ❤
LOL my daughter came to me and said look how cute, can you make it? Now we're doing it together, me this one, she the other. This is actually her first attemp at real crochet.
Saw you on Instagram and ran for the tut. This is incredibly helpful. Probably best crochet tut I’ve seen. And then I saw that hanging basket option and I 🤯🤯🤯
I love your tutorials the most!!! I love how you say where exactly to stitch, how you count how you instruct which to count and not to count. Thanks for ur sincerity and passion. There a lot of crocheters but there are a few like you
I LOOOVE THE FUNCTIONALITY BEHIND THEM😍 Even as just an decorative item it's so cute. I love all the plant crochets because my mum suffers from allergies and real plants are no option so this is the perfect solution to make the room a bit more green 😂❤ Thank you so much for the tutorial, would love to see more☺️
I started crocheting this month and this is my first project! They turned out great 😍 I didn't have the corded yarn for the pot, so I used 2 strands of 8 ply yarn to make it. And it worked 😊 Thank you!
They are so adorable and I just love how excited you get when the project is complete! I get so excited too when I finish my stuff too and I always sound like a little girl!
i just finished making this for my mom because she loves plants and i only started crocheting a few weeks ago, and she's been asking me for coasters. I thought this was the best thing I could make for her, and it is. She loves it so much. Thank you for this amazing pattern.
this is random, but I would love to see you try to make a coaster set out of a cabbage or a head of lettuce?? I just feel like the individual lettuce leaves could be so cute!!
How cute. I'm not a crochet 'er. But ive bern enlisting my neighbor to do gift projects for me. LOVE THIS. Saving it with someone ( some ones) in mind!! Thxs!!
This is the most excited I've been over a crochet pattern! I have just started my first coaster and I'm loving it already. The hanging basket option has literally sent me over the edge 😂😍 I cannot wait to complete these, thank you so much they are amazing!
I LOVE this pattern/tutorial! I made three of the flower pot coaster sets (one for my Mom and two sisters) and they were a big hit so I’m making the succulent coasters for my nephew whose birthday is tomorrow. His favorite color is green so these will look so cute in his home. 💚
It's because you need to be VERY careful after each petal. The very next stitch after you make the 8th and final double crochet is very easy to miss. Pulling the petal to the side might help you see it better. Because so many stitches go into the same single crochet, it kind of smushes the stitches close together. Hope that makes sense and helps.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! This!!! Just watched this video and now running to the yarn store!!! This is brilliant and can’t wait to make lots of them for gifts. I have to say your video was so easy to follow, you explained steps so well, excellent tutorial! Subscribed and can’t wait to see more of your work.
I saw your "Flower pot coaster set" video first and loved it. Then I saw this one. Now, my only problem is to decide which to do first. They are both so adorable. Thanks.
Thank you for sharing you time and talent with us! I absolutely love this project and your instructions are very clear and easy to follow. I made one along with you but mine wasn't exactly nice and flat. Not sure what I did wrong but I am determined to get it right. Thanks again! Blessings on you 🙏
If anyone wants the written pattern (I added some modifications to Make it a bit easier) Mr Ch 2 R1: Dc 15 into mr (15) Sl st into first st Ch 3 R2: (dc) inc in every stitch (30) Sl st ch 3 R3: dc, inc (45) Sl st (fasten off if changing colors) ch 1 R4: (sc) sc, sc, inc(repeat around) (60) Sl st ch 1 R5: sc, * skip two, (4 dc (in same stitch) ch 2, Sl st into front loop of dc and stitch underneath, 4 dc) skip two, sc* [repeat from * to end of round] Sl st ch and fasten off
Bruna, You're an amazing creator!❤ These are so-so cute, functional, and decorative. I just finished mine! I'm keeping mine out on my kitchen bar island. I'll be making more. As well as the flower one as gifts. Thank you so much for sharing your designs and videos with us ❤
Loved both of your coaster ideas. They came out so good and were very easy to make! Hope you put out a poinsettia for Christmas. I guess that we could make your Christmas baubles and make a box like a present to put them in like a present.
Nueva subscriptora.
I have really enjoyed this tutorial and found your instructions very easy to follow! I do have a question though... how do you get your coasters to lay so flat and to be so pliable? Mine are very stiff and have a ripple in them that won't lay flat. I'm thinking about hand washing them with some vinegar to see if that loosens up the weave. I don't think it is a tension problem because I was deliberate about crocheting looser after the first one. Any input would be appreciated. Thank you!
This is very late but I think I can give advice ^^ For the stiffness, I guess it depends on tension and the yarn you used. For the rippling though, I had the same problem so I decided to change the stitch count. I started with 12 instead of 15 and I have 8 petals in the end, with the same increases. Now they lay flat
You are absolutely adorable and so much fun to watch! You are the first person I have donated to… you deserve it! I have made the purse and so many other things I want to support your channel
Bruna, thank you for the fun project! I made one set for myself in southwestern colors to try it out & then made another set in pinks, tans & greens for one of my amazing students who is headed to college. Loved this project! 😊
I so enjoyed this video, I was as excited as you were, when it all came together. Beautiful! I can't wait to make these for my friends and family. Thank you so much 😘
I got 9 the first time I did it too. I redid it and the second time I got 10. Sometimes a stitch can get hidden when you are finishing the petal. When you’re getting ready to do the SC after doing the second 4DC of the petal, pull it back a bit and you might see a stitch hiding there! I did this going around the second time and realized I ended up just skipping a couple on accident the first time around!
I absolutely love my new coasters! They came out beautifully! I did not have the cording yarn for the basket, so I used two strands of a marbled brown. It worked perfectly!
I FELT YOUR EXCITEMENT SO MUCH ❤❤❤ LIKE IM LITERALLY SCREAMING WITH YOU WHEN YOU FINISH THE SUCCULENTS! Theyre so beautifullllll, might try to do this soon so thank you!
This video popped up in my menitions, and I wanted to make them right away for my sister who loves succlents. Super simple to make, and really nice looking. Two people have already mistaken it for a real plant!
😍I LOVE this pattern. I came here just for the pot pattern to go with some flower coasters I made but now I'll definitely be making the succulent as well for my sister! I really love that you showed the measurements of the pot in case we're using different yarn or tension, but I wish the measurements of the bottom had been shown before starting the sides 😭I got to the end of the pot before seeing you measure the bottom at 7cm and mine was only 5cm so I had to undo all the way down the sides and make my base bigger. Definitely my fault that I didn't check first or notice that it seemed small, but my heart sank when I measured mine lmao
these tutorials are easy to follow - with or without sound - and I am a leftie so have to adjust accordingly when taking it in while watching. Loving these amazing and so cute designs
OMG 😊I love 😍 succulents 😊 I have some fake one's, and this spring/summer I want to decorate my balcony table with an arrangement of succulents. 👍🏽 I have brown and green yes.....😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊thank you ❤

@@mels2595 Aww thank you! Yesss! Those are amazing ideas! You could also use a real plant pot to store the coasters too! So happy you like my work!
I was wondering when you say what the stitches are is it American or European. I know there is a difference but I am still a newbie.
I use US terms for all my videos and patterns. 💕💕
Sunflowers would be beautiful

Thank you so much !
Thank you for the tip! I have more 4ply yarns and will try this.
I don't personally like working with the "magic ring" technique (it seems to mess with my tension), so I did some experiments and discovered that a ch5 loop works pretty well (in case anyone else needs it :) )
Many do not use magic ⭕🧶
I like to chain 3 at the beginning and work all the double crochets into the first chain space (the other 2 are just to get the double crochet height
I also have a difficult time so I use a chain of 4.

Amo como me quedoo! Muchas gracias por poner subtítulos en español ♡
Me encanta como suena tu voz toda emocionada al mostrar el trabajo
Love this but my first coaster only had 9 leaves. Still looks cute. I am sure I will be more careful with the stitch counts on 2nd attempt.
same thing happened to me! wondering where i went wrong 😅
Me, too… I missed the first stitch after the second set of 4, so I was actually skipping 3.
Mine did too lol
It's because you need to be VERY careful after each petal. The very next stitch after you make the 8th and final double crochet is very easy to miss. Pulling the petal to the side might help you see it better. Because so many stitches go into the same single crochet, it kind of smushes the stitches close together. Hope that makes sense and helps.
same here, I'm going in-saneeee 😂
You're the first person I've seen (online) hold the yarn and hook just like me!
