You can’t say Justin can’t be good then say go get darnold. Darnold got to his third team after almost being a bust but we can’t give Justin the same opportunity with a competent organization? Thats hypocrisy at its finest

Fields was taking huge strides as a QB, W/L ratio was up. TO Ratio was almost zero. Passing was getting better the more comfortable he got. Every year he's been in the NFL he's had terrible lines and no weapons, This is also the first time he's had a competent coaching staff. He's had 3 head coaches and 3 OC's in 3 out of his 4 years

    • @Jordyrugby
      @Jordyrugby 14 годин тому

The coaching staff watched him in the games he started and every day at practice. After seeing all of that, they opted to go for Russell Wilson. That says as much about Justin Fields as you would need to know.

@ that is a lie. It’s widely known now that most in the org including Arthur smith wanted fields to continue and Mike Tomlin alone wanted Russell to play so that is false. Mike specifically said he went Lone Ranger meaning he was alone in making the change.

@ This team started to fold like a cheap lawn chair at the end of the year because of exactly what Tomlin did, the vast majority of the organization was happy with keeping Fields at QB. When they started to lose with Russ, they no longer had the willingingness to fight for a man who made an executive order when it came to QB. as he so eloquently put it " that's why i'm highly compensated"

actually the bears did Justin fields a favor by trading him to the steelers, Ryan poles said they got some pretty good offers for fields but they honored fields by letting him choose where he wanted to go... so the feelings were mutual, steelers wanted him and he wanted the steelers

Why would they give Russ another contract for mediocrity? They said last year, Russ is going to be a mentor to Justin Fields. Russ was supposed to be the starter from the start but he got hurt. He got healthy and then he got his job back. I believe they’re going to move forward with Fields next season.

Hell, yes, they should keep both quarterbacks the quarterback position this past year was not the problem. It was the entire offense. They just don’t have enough weapons at the receiver or RB position to compete on a consistent basis for a Super Bowl I mean look at their division, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and even Cleveland have better weapons overall than the Steelers do.

    • @skywalker2759

@ bro, who are they gonna draft? They are in the 20s when it comes to drafting a quarterback, and most of the people who were the experts are high on are going to be taken within the first five rounds Russell, Wilson, and Justin Fields are fine where they’re at what they need is weapons on the offensive end? You say I sound stupid but don’t you even look at their roster outside of the quarterback and say they’re not good enough try watching their games try actually paying attention dummy.

You can’t just conveniently bring up Russell Wilson’s record over the last 3-4 seasons to fit your narrative. His overall record is 115-72-1. If you don’t know you better ask somebody. Justin Fields is 17-32. I digress. Additionally JF said himself before Russell Wilson took over that he didn’t perform well enough to keep his job. Nuff said! Russell Wilson just needs a better Offensive Line and some receivers who can get separation because at the end of the day lack of receiver separation + bad offensive line protection = poor QB performance and that goes for any quarterback point blank period!

Russell Wilson was selected to another Pro Bowl in 2024, doesn’t this means he is still a top 10 QB? He has played in 2 Super Bowls and won 1, has combined Super Bowls passer rating of 116.8 with TD-Int ratio 4-1, has 130 combined wins, he is a 10 X Pro Bowler with 5 legitimate MVP caliber seasons, has > 50K combined passing yards and 377 combined passing TD’s with < 6500 passing attempts, has career TD-Int ratio > 3-1 and a passing rating of ~ 100, has ~ 6K combined rushing yards and 34 rushing TD’s.
Russell Wilson has started in 199 regular season and 17 playoff games. Experience, ability to throw accurate deep balls, and glimpses of vintage Russell Wilson this season proves Russell Wilson could still be an elite QB.

    Aaron Rodgers 4-4, 1-1
    Drew Brees 1-1, 1-0
    Eli Manning 3-0, no game
    Matthew Stafford 2-3, 1-0
    Peyton Manning 1-0, 1-0
    Tom Brady 2-0, 0-1
    Russell Wilson’s career narrative
“Legion of Boom” era for the Seattle Seahawks is generally considered to have ended around 2015, as this was the last season where their defensive core of Richard Sherman, Earl Thomas, and Kam Chancellor were all playing at a high level together and the team maintained their defensive dominance across the league; marking the end of their peak performance as a unit. In the 6 seasons following the Legion of Boom, Russell Wilson had W-L-T 58-35-1, TD-Int 186-53, (3) 4 thousands yards passing seasons, 2259 rushing yards, 11 rushing TD’s and led the Seahawks to 4 playoff appearances while putting up MVP caliber statistics. Statically notable years at Seattle: 2015 TD-Int 34-8, 2017 TD-Int 34-11, 2018 TD-Int 35-7, 2019 TD-Int 31-5, 2020 TD-Int 40-13 while completing > 65% of passes and having a QB rating over 100.
Russell Wilson’s 2 seasons in Denver: TD-Int 42-19, 618 rushing yards, 6 rushing touchdowns, Comp % 63.3, 7 4QC, 7 GWD. Russell Wilson had incompetent Nathaniel Hackett in his 1st year and bigoted Sean Payton in his 2nd year.
Wilson’s 2024 season with Steelers: TD-INT 16-5 (3:1), completion % 63.7, 2482 passing yards, 155 rushing yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. Playoff loss vs Baltimore: TD-Int 2-0, completion % 68.9, passer rating 121.3. Remember he started the season W-L 6-1 before going through the toughest schedule to end the season. Steelers had a terrible offensive line, only one top tier receiver who missed 3 games in the losing stretch and an overrated defense. He was therefore selected for his 10th Pro Bowl.
