- DrumBrute Impact's distortion is really nice, so i took all drums thru the main out. exept the fm drum which goes seperat thru a boss blues driver and gets some delay from ableton.
Minitaur is sequenced by SQ-1 and gets reverb from ableton.
(cv a to pitch and cv b to filter env amount)
On the Master i run Ozone Elements for some light EQ'ing and limiting.

Currently deciding whether to get the impact, this video has definitely swayed me. The kick is cutting through the bass nicely, wondering is there any side chaining going on here?
nope, no side chaining in this one. but much from impacts internal distortion.
for this price the drumbrute is hard to beat. i like it a lot ✌️

thanks :) yes indeed! the drumbrute has a 3.5 mm minijack clock output which goes to the 3.5 clock input of the SQ-1. clocks super tight.

the fm drum goes seperat thru a boss blues driver pedal. overdrive is my go to to thicken some sounds ^^ i also added some delay from ableton to give it even more space.

@@lasko303 oh cheers! I've recorded both pure hardware jams, and produced entirely ITB. Right now I'm on Ableton, with a Moog Grandmother and a Behringer TD3, but just ordered a Drumbrute Impact - so I can do more full in jam sessions again. Used to have a DFAM, Monologue, Volca Beats, and Digitakt but sold all of it because I'm a silly silly cow ;)
@@lasko303 btw, I believe VANNKRAFT is done with Ableton, no third-party plugins; and the bassline is done in either Collide or Tension, one of the physical modeling devices (they are actually great for weird techno sounds)!

Would you recommend this over a MFB Tanzbar2?
i‘ve only played the mfb tanzbär once or twice so i dont have a strong opinion on it. the sound is cool but i disliked the interface. biggest plus on the db impact is how hands on it is.
so if you like what you hear go with the impact. at this price you cant really go wrong.

Fantastic. Is there a daw involved here? If not how the hell is the sq1 connected to control the moog? I get the clock is being sent from clock out on the brute but sq1 to moog and I'm lost! Newbie question

the drumbrute was barely processed afterwards. just some light eqing and limiting on the master. the build in distortion makes the drumbrute shine!
sweetspot for me is between 9 and 12 o’clock (poti position)
the distortion also compresses the hole thing heavily, which i like for this kind of music.
only the fmdrum got some fx. it goes through a boss blues driver first and then into ableton where i applied some delay and reverb.

next time maybe a video of the sq1 sequencing the sq1 :D
but doesnt make much sense since the ensoniq got its own sequencer.
