The Arkane Dev and the Marvel guy said they announced Blade because it was the 50th anniversary of the character. Studios also announce these types of games early as a recruitment tool.

I would love to see a new banjo kazooie game.people are just being closed minded when it comes to games outside of the first person shooter realm.
26:40 Considering that it looks like Wolverine will have had 4-5 years from announcement to release, we have no idea when the Black Panther or Black Panther/Captain America games will release, and now Blade was shown at a very early point of development; this just looks like something Marvel Games is pushing for with their partnerships.
I could see it being to get ahead of leaks, it obviously helps staff up for the games, and it could possibly just being people from outside of the game production world having a different perspective on how information should be handled when it comes to their games. Movies aren't really on that "wait until it's almost ready" shit.
