    • @gtlover2011

      Well China also conquered Mongolia and influenced them heavily. Mongolian are nomads, they're used to dress like barbarian, they traded leather for silk in the past, and started wearing like East Asian. The redesigned dress is definitely more "Chinese" feel and nothing alike what Mongolian wear. And maybe you should specify what Mongolian culture left in China.

      @@QWERTY-gp8fd Not really. Since the ancient times, the Han Dynasty and the nomadic people that lived in Mongolia had been fighting for centuries. The Turkic tribes lived in Mongolia before Mongols such as the Xiongnu, Gokturk Khaganate, Ruroun Khaganate, and Khitan. They all had been defeated by the Chinese until the Mongols finally defeated China in the 13th century. But after the fall of the Mongols, China controlled them again. And if you know anything about Mongols, Mongols never really influenced their culture onto others. The Mongols are the ones that got absorbed into other cultures.

    I am so embarrassed by the design. Since nomadic cultures resemble one another, not entire nomadic outfits are for Mongolians. The issue with the Mongolian uniform is that it seems more inspired by Manchu outfits than actual traditional Mongolian clothing. The Manchus conquered Mongolia over 200 years ago and established the Qing Dynasty in China. Their uniforms share similarities with the current design. Yes, I know, for foreigners it may look fantastic. And I can't deny that! However, for the Olympics, it's important for Mongolian athletes to represent their unique cultural heritage.
    If I went into the details of the clothing's discrepancies, it would take a long time. I strongly believe there was a missed opportunity to showcase authentic Mongolian designs on a global stage. It feels like a missed chance to celebrate Mongolian culture.

    • @Lucky-ro6jp
      @Lucky-ro6jp 6 місяців тому +22

      This is a complete reach. Just because you feel like that does not mean the rest of us feel like that. Also sounds like you need to research the history of deel. The Manchus have always been heavily linked to us through culture, history and even clothing. The Manchus adopted their traditional clothing from us since they were also nomadic people. Including the collar, hems and more. Yes this specific style is more reminiscent of the Manchu era of Mongolia, however, there are many different types of deel and this style is just as Mongolian as any of the others.

      @@Lucky-ro6jp The origins of the Deel are indeed complex, with influences flowing between Mongolian and Manchu cultures. While contemporary Mongolian Deels are heavily inspired by the Manchus, it's important to remember that the traditional Deel from centuries ago had a distinct form, likely less adorned than its modern counterpart. Even the inclusion of vests in Mongolian attire is to have been influenced by the Manchus, who themselves adopted it from the Chinese. Further research into this topic would be fascinating. You lack knowledge.

In 1636, a gathering of 49 princes from 16 provinces of Mongols was held in Mugden city, and King Abakhai of the Jurchen tribe was proclaimed king of Mongols. The Mongol princes who were related to the Manchu kings and princesses were called Efu. Efu is a Manchu word meaning Great Groom, Groom, and translates to "Tavnan" in Mongolian. From the beginning of the 17th century until the end of the Manchu Dynasty, 595 people from the Manchu dynasty were related to the Mongol princes, 432 princesses who became queens of the Mongol princes, and 163 daughters of the Mongol princes who went to the Manchu side.
      Between 1697 and 1911, 20 Khalkha Mongol princes married Manchu princesses and became Efu. Manchu kings also married Mongols.

    • @Strollerist
      @Strollerist 6 місяців тому +2

      @@Mr.Chicken-z6v The Qing dynasty, despite being founded by the Manchu people, who were agricultural people as Han Chinese, is generally considered a Chinese dynasty. This is due to the extensive adoption of Chinese culture, the continuation of Chinese political systems, and the expansion and unification of Chinese territory under Manchu rule. Essentially, the Manchus became Sinicized, integrating seamlessly into the broader Chinese historical and cultural context. Therefore it is a misconception that Manchus were Nomadic people. Restoring China in the context of the Xinhai Revolution does not primarily refer to reclaiming territory from external powers. Instead, it signifies a fundamental transformation of the Chinese state.
